Why did Tucker set up the Pimp and Hookers story?
On November 26th, 2007 TraditionalGOPer says:
A recent Associated Press story about Ron Paul carries a headline that was carefully crafted to turn off many American voters. The headline proclaimed: "Paul Endorsed by Nevada Brothel Owner."
The AP story began: "Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, an underdog Texas congressman with a libertarian streak, has picked up an endorsement from a Nevada brothel owner," Dennis Hof.
"Picked up," however, is the wrong phrase, since it implies, incorrectly, that Ron Paul had solicited Hof’s endorsement. In actuality, it was a member of the media, MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson, who had done the soliciting. Carlson not only contacted Hof to ask him to check out Ron Paul while Paul was in Nevada, but he even arrived at Ron Paul’s Reno news conference in the company of Hof and two of Hof’s prostitutes. Hof’s presence, which surprised the Ron Paul campaign, then gave Hof the opportunity to be interviewed by the media. ....
It then finally quotes Carlson as admitting that "Dennis Hof is a good friend of mine, so when we got to Nevada, I decided to call him up and see if he wanted to come check this guy [Ron Paul] out."
If this is true, then is Tucker trying to sabotage Dr. Paul?

Miscalculation
I think it's just a case of poor judgment from Carlson. Given his track record of giving Paul positive mentions and loads of airtime, keep this latest development in context.
If you think Tucker Carlson is out to sabotage Ron Paul, that's a stretch. It'd mean that he'd be promoting the guy, but trying to do it poorly. Hmm...I don't think so. Yeah, all you perfectionists will fire back that Carlson hasn't supported Paul to your satisfaction, and you'll point to this snarky comment or that. You're asking for too much.
The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. I think Carlson supports Paul, wants to spread the message as much as he can without crossing an ethical line or appearing too biased, and thought getting Hof involved was a good idea. Hof's support has positive aspects, but I agree it's a net negative.

Have you guys ever seen any
Have you guys ever seen any of the videos of Ron on Tucker's show? This is a mainstream media guy who treats Dr. Paul with the greatest respect and is on our side. At least ONE of 'em is! Cut him some slack. Hey, I can imagine this brothel bringing in quite a few bucks to the campaign. Maybe all the other brothel owners will do the same.

Tucker claims to have voted for Ron Paul in 1988, but then pulls sh_t like this and the strippers for ron paul crap to alienate social conservatives. Someone should stomp on Tucker.

It’s the Constitution stupid!
My reply to the article.
"Hey, it’s all good. The establishment did the same thing to Jesus. The prostitutes had the capacity to know God when he showed up in person.
And today all sorts of real people recognize that Ron Paul is here to set captives free as well."
