R.I.P. - The Rule of Law
The ongoing financial crisis, especially the recent "bankruptcies" of Chrysler and GM, offer an example of the Obama gang's contempt for the rule of law. Karl Denninger posted a great article on The Market Ticker this week entitled "Holding GM Debt? Gubbermint is Robbing You!" that explains in great detail how the tag team of Obama and Geithner have dismissed the rule of law in their mugging of the motor companies. It's a very informative and insightful read.

The article ends like this:
"I ask you this essential question:
If President Obama and Tim Geithner will steal from you in this fashion, literally at gunpoint, do you believe that your 401k or IRA will not similarly be confiscated whenever our government decides it wants to steal from you on similar "terms" - or when it suddenly "needs" some money (like when the bond market has had enough of this crap and stops being willing to finance a nearly $2 trillion annual deficit!)"
I ask you this question:
If the gangsters running our government get away with dismissing the rule of law when it comes to corporate bankruptcy proceedings, what might stop them from establishing a full-blown dictatorship in this country?

The difference between a Republic and a Democracy
In a Democracy the majority rules. In a Republic the rule of law is paramount.
Without the rule of law there is no Republic and if there is no Republic there is no America.
NOTHING...will or has stopped them.....
Abolish the "Interstate Commerce Act." The vehicle for federal rule over our nation......
Behold Our First Agent of Anarchy
Where there is no rule of law, there is anarchy. Our federal government is behaving as an autonomous agent of anarchy. It not longer submits to a rule of law above itself, it makes it own decisions based on what it perceives as "good," and it answers to no authority or ruler when it makes mistakes or sins. Those who so desire an anarchical society need only look at our federal government to get a picture of what it is like. Simply put, anarchy fails, and with it comes suffering, frustration, and injustice.
If there is no 'standard'...
...and no one to uphold it, then 'law' is whatever those in power want it to be...as we are witnessing.
The New Rule Of Law
Is anything they want to do to us. lol.
Ask yourself this?
Where do the special words on paper that they call 'law' come from?
Rule of 'law' is an illusion. People write the words, and the people writing those words do so for their own benefit.
People wrote the words
of the US Constitution for their own and every other freedom-loving human being's benefit. The Consitution is (supposed to be) the starting point for all of our laws. The rule of law can work nicely when it is repected.
Ask yourself this:
If the rule of law is cast aside, how is the fabric of civilized society affected?
This was a late night post
Any opinions from the Saturday morning crowd?
Not one you will like
The framers of the Constitution wrote their laws for rich, land-owning white men. They did not care who loved liberty, they wrote laws that were to THEIR benefit.
Just like the people in office now.
I reject the the entire notion of a "Rule of Law."
"RULERS" are about power, not lawfulness. HUMANS choose, a thousand times a day, to act in a way that is constructive or destructive, and NATURE'S LAWS reward or punish them.
THAT is the law I consent to and abide by. NO MAN has authority over me, no matter how many of YOU vote for them to rule over ME.

Don't be so sure
that you know what I will like or dislike. When I speak of the rule of law, I'm not referring to rulership with respect to exercising power, authority or influence over people. The rule I'm referring to involves formal decisions or rulings, as on a point at law. In a perfect society, such as the one you speak of, there is no need for rules. We don't live in a perfect society (yet), and so far respect for the rule of law has kept the fabric of civilized society from unraveling. Do you believe that civilized society can be maintained in this country without the rule of law?
I do not believe "civilized society" can be maintained WITH it
We have been BRAINWASHED into believing we need led. We do not. If we tend our own lives and leave others to do the same, and reject the notion that I need to judge another humans life, we have peaceful co-existence. If I need something I cannot provide for myself, I can seek out a human and negotiate a mutually beneficially arrangement. That I need a "society" so that I can buy government subsidized cigarettes at 3 AM is ludicrous. It is the anonymity of being part of "society" that allows criminal activity to develop. Tribal life had pranksters, and an appreciation for pranksters. Criminal activity still happens, brothers rob from sisters, and the family deals with it. sometimes a group of neighbors has to band together in face of a common threat, but no standing army of police officers is needed. Especially not a police force that does nothing but show up AFTER the crime and ask questions.
No, to have a "Rule of Law" means someone gets to call them self "Ruler" and someone gets to "enforce the law" according to the fashion of the day, NOT what the law intended.
It is time for us to grow up. We are almost out of time. You are the gifted people, you must wake up.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
Respect
for the rule of law does not require a police force, and civilized society is not the result of brainwashing. The way I see it, a civilized society that is respectful of the rule of law is the diametric opposite of a violent society adhering to the rule of thuggery.
Those are not the only options
We are so trained to think in "either this or that" that we miss all the true options.
The way I see it, there is either an individual or group of individuals who have been placed above the rest of humanity or there is not. How is that for black and white?
I will take my chances with the "thugs" this "society" is so afraid of. The thugs who have sworn to uphold the law are the ones I fear. Currently, the people I trust most are labelled "extremists" and "potential terrorists" and such.
