(CNN) – A combative Lindsey Graham got into a sharp back-and-forth with some audience members at the South Carolina GOP convention on Saturday as he made the case for an open-tent Republican party.

According to The State newspaper and video posted on YouTube, the South Carolina senator told the convention he wants to build a party that can compete in Pennsylvania and Connecticut as well as in his home state.

“You’re a hypocrite!,” one man in the audience yelled.

“I’m a winner, pal,” Graham retorted. Moments later, after saying he wants to the party to reach out to independent voters, he said: “Winning matters to me. If it doesn’t matter to you, there’s the exit sign.”

The crowd in Columbia also featured some Ron Paul supporters who offered several libertarian resolutions during the convention that were rejected by the state party.

During his speech, Graham told the audience, "Ron Paul is not the leader of this party." That remark drew a few jeers, with several people yelling, "Yes he is!"

“I’m not going to give this party over to people who can’t win,” Graham responded.

This guy Lindsey just has a

This guy Lindsey just has a lump of coal up his butt, because his parents were cruel when they named him. It's the Dick Cheney syndrome. Your name is Dick, you go through life acting like one. But, imagine going through life being named Lindsey and have to put up with the repeated taunting and teasing. Do you feel sorry for Lindsey yet?

Ron Paul will become the leader of this party.

Ultimately it's not up to Mr Graham to "give the party over" to us. We are gradually taking it over quite well without his help, thank you very much. When WE win it will be because our ideas make actual sense, and produce the most positive results for society. Not to win for winning's sake, but to have a better life for everyone here.

"Nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come*

Ron Paul IS the leader

See my post below earlier today.

I noticed Lindsey

has recieved straight F's on his grade gov report card

Ahem, Lindsey......

Ron Paul IS the leader of the Republican Party. When is the last time you had more than half the Senate agree with you on a bill of yours? Ron Paul is not only a leader, he is a uniter. And this is only the beginning.

Sound Familiar...sounds like Ron Paul

REASON: Now that you’re in the minority party, how do you feel about other prospects for minor parties or third party activities?

REAGAN: Well, third parties have been notoriously unsuccessful; they usually wind up dividing the very people that should be united. And then we elect the wrong kind–the side we’re out to defeat wins. I have been doing my best to try to revitalize the Republican Party groups that I’ve spoken to, on the basis that the time has come to repudiate those in our midst who would blur the Republican image by saying we should be all things to all people in order to triumph. Lately, we find that of the 26 percent of the people who didn’t vote, more than half of them now say they didn’t vote because they don’t see any difference between the parties. I’ve been urging Republicans to raise a banner and put the things we stand for on that banner and don’t compromise, but don’t try to enlarge the party by being all things to everyone when you can’t keep all the promises. Put up a banner and then count on the fact that if you’ve got the proper things on that banner the people will rally round.

"I'm a winner pal."

“Winning matters to me. If it doesn’t matter to you, there’s the exit sign.”

It seems that what Mr. Graham is conveying here is that he will say WHATEVER it takes to secure someone's vote. Frankly, all that tells me is that under no circumstances can I believe anything Mr. Graham has to say on any subject................ EVER!

Here's a copy of an E-mail I

Here's a copy of an E-mail I sent the Senator....feel free to let him know how you feel...;)

Senator Graham,

I recently saw your comments regarding Libertarian ideals, the Republican party and Dr. Ron Paul. I don't think you understand why your party lost voters. It is in part as a result of their abandonment of Libertarian ideals. Less government and less taxes are pillars of the Libertarian platform, and used to be a reason why I often voted Republican, as they often claimed to promote these ideals as well. However, I don't trust your Republican party to adhere to these principals. President Bush and the Republican controlled congress were responsible for an ever increasing federal government and ever increasing federal spending. Too bad Dr. Paul isn't involved in more of a leadership role within the Republican party, maybe they could again gain my support. You claim to be a "Reagan Republican", however I believe one of the reasons why President Reagan was popular was his belief and adherence to the Libertarian ideals of Less taxes and less government, to quote him "Government isn’t the solution to our problems, government is the problem.” Maybe when you and your party realize that "We The People" are the solution, you will stop being part of the problem.

Thank you,
KB Beckius

Graham is a NWO mole.

And the reason he keeps getting re-elected is that he has been selected by the political establishment (AKA the "Virtual Conspiracy") as a safe spokesman for the GOP wing of the Republicrat monopoly.

He may make noises like a conservative, but he will never mount a truly effective opposition to the agenda of the globalists.

That's why he will remain a "winner", until we can awaken enough people to the MSM propaganda machine that keeps him in office.

Winner at all costs?

I think what Graham's comment reveals is a complete absence of firm principle. He seems to place winning above adherence to any set of beliefs, so that it's ok to be a hypocrite as long as you win with it. This, of course, is exactly the kind of opportunistic politicking that has gotten the Republican party shellacked the last few years, and deservedly so.

I think that clip excellently exhibits why the Republican Party as it has existed recently is defunct, morally debased, and done.

Agreed. We need to address

Agreed. We need to address the issue of pragmatism versus principle so that we libertarian-minded people do not fall into the same trap. What are the principles -- the unquestionable foundations of our worldview -- that we will follow without reservations. We are all about to enter the crucible, so there is great necessity to establish these in our minds today before the real storm begins.

"Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
(Jos 24:14-15 ESV)

Why does Graham keep getting

GOP can win in CT if they

GOP can win in CT if they adopted Dr. Paul's philosophy, but dimwitted egotists like Graham can't begin to understand that. It was under his and his peoples' watch that CT and PA and the rest of the Northeast was lost by the GOP. And now they want to try and scrape it back together without paying heed to the reasons why? Idiots!

Watched the video of him

Watched the video of him stirring the patriotism of the attendees and raising his voice over the applause to spout off his war mongering. It was eerily reminiscent of a Nazi rally.

So you're a WINNER Grahamsey??!

Perhaps a repeat of part of one of my posts from the fall would best describe your term at being a WINNER!

"You have no use for the Constitution which gave you the opportunity to be “elected” to the office which you now sully, which after your phony oaths of office are muttered, you hold in contempt; many of you at the top are so smug, sullen, haughty, imperious and avaricious, you forget where you came from; mind you, you won’t forget where you are going when all is said and done and the American people, newly charged with patriotism, bravery and nothing left to lose, sick to death of your tyranny, rout you out then spit you out!

Yea, O ye exalted ones! After you have sold all but yourselves into starvation, slavery and misery, when the book of life is closed on all of us and God is ready to settle the score, reflect back for a moment and think about what you have wrought for your fellow human beings…..think that you will wish you were never born, then go to your master….he’ll be waiting for you with his pitchfork!"

Yes, Grahamsey, a winner in the Hall of Shame!

Oh well. I wanted to chime in that Ron Paul is THE winner of the GOP.

Figuratively speaking.

Why it is important to get involved in both parties and drive these snakes out. Strike at their heads.
