Pissed off in the Palmetto State
As some of you may know, I became my precincts executive chair and alternate 1/2 delegate to the SC GOP convention. However my father had a heart/lung failure and had to be helicoptered out of our town to ICU recently so I was unable to attend the convention this weekend due to my father's health.
Thanks to BF's videos and a few others, I have caught up on what I missed. Perhaps it was divine intervention that I DID NOT attend. I think I would have landed in jail because I would have "wigged out" on Lindsey Grahamnesty.
I'm totally sick to death this morning for the Palmetto State.
I've been a Republican my entire life however I have voted outside party once or twice (over 20 years) when prayer, reason and logic prevailed over party.
My last name carries some weight in SC as I'm related to a former Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, SC Speaker of the House and former war crime prosecutor. AND I AM ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED of the SC GOP!!! I FEEL DIRTY and USED!! Lindsey Graham does not speak for me!!!
Over video, Lindsey Graham has shown me and my highly thought of family "the door", in which we will gladly exit. I no longer want to be associated with this party if they continue to co-dependently push "leaders" such as Grahamnesty, Gingrich, Limbaugh et al.
Hey Grahamnesty, remember the prosecution of war crimes after WW2? Your statements on torture have my uncle rolling in his grave!! Grahamnesty does not even remember his own SC party leaders involvement in opposition to torture!!!
I'll be taking my good name and using it in opposition to the Republican party. Perhaps the Constitution party would be interested in my thoughts?
How do you disconnect from the GOP once you're in? I want out!!! Not only do I want to "exit" the GOP, I want to sneak out the back door so no one knows I was ever a part of this group.
I know Dr. Paul has dealt with this type of thoughtlessness for 30 years or more....I sure could use a housecall from the Doc on how to survive these GOP idiots!!! Calling the Doctor!!! Help!!!

We've got rigged elections courtesy of DIEBOLD (Socialist/Communist remember what Joseph Stalin said It doesn't matter how many vote, what matters is those counting the vote" ". On top of that we've got a socialist segment (payroll socialist I'd be willing to bet) of the Republicans to which Lyndsey pays homage.(not true Ron Paul republicans) These are the same socialist/republicans in state GOP positions of influence in districts/precincts state to state. I can think of no other way that trash such as Lyndsey Graham could get elected dogcatcher anywhere, period. There are also paid screaming, yelling fans at the socialist GOP events like straw polls, primaries..et al..Most especially if there is a media presence. This hit home for me at the Texas Straw Poll of which Dr Paul was clearly the winner....The war monger communist supporting the Bush agenda inside the event were either mentally disturbed or great actors.. The total non-event was one giant shitpie IMHO..Total fraud from stem to stern..Something else that led me to this conclusion was Alex Jones actualy filming people being paid at the state house here in Texas for anti-gun testimon..Paid cash right in front of God Almighty and anyone else with eyes. as we discussed in a different post yesterday, every time graham denounces Ron Paul he just adds to Ron's power. this is a sign of upcoming victory. now is not the time to run, you have them sh!tting in their pants. when is the last time republicans paid so much attention to Ron? this is all part of Ron's plan. i am sure of it.

SCButterfly - I was there, the reception for Graham was very very tepid right up to the point where he started war mongering - the crowd is generally not educated in history or the Constitution - general agreement is to follow the Constitution but when it comes to it there is little understanding of what the Document says. I believe given the chance the majority would not have voted to commend Graham individually. If you can stomach it a while yet, maybe the best option is education of 1 or a few at the time. That is what I will try to do for a while yet if I can take it. I about barfed at the crowds response to Graham, but had a good response to the many dozens I spoke with concerning HR1207. There will be another meeting for Campaign for Liberty in Columbia, probably next month. Hope you can make it!

I just now realized that I feel like Lindsey Graham raped me, that all those "in higher places" have been raping us for years. I always knew it was bad. But I guess because I really wanted to go to the convention, and couldn't go, that I was forced to realize Lindsey Graham "was allowed" to speak for me, my country, my state, my party and he did so "against my will". And sitting here at home with Dad, I was unable to let my voice of opposition be known. I'm so frustrated. So much has been done (by both parties) in my name, the name of my children, "against my will and better judgement", that I'm feeling nauseus thinking of the inquities that surely will be visited upon generations to come. How could the SCGOP audience sit back and applaud hostility against any warm body willing to bring about Liberty? As long as a warm body is willing and able to help in the cause of Liberty and never perpetuate falsehood, where's the problem with RP supporters in the GOP? Generally speaking, Ron Paul supporters will know more about history, economics, B&I, government, law and pyschology (not to mention fund raising) than any other "normal" person. So in a nutshell, since the audience salivated over Lindsey, I feel gangraped by the SCGOP. When BF and a few others had the d*mn guts to undergird the RP ideals (Constitutional) was there not one Huckabee or Romney "Christian" out there that took offense to RP and his supporters being attacked,"shown the door" and true conservatism defiled? Shame on you "Christian" GOP members for not standing up at that very moment and saying to your fellow "Ron Paul Republicans": "I don't agree with what you said but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"!! Name names and use your good name to discredit the people responsible, and not just within the party. It's only libel if they can prove you know what you've said about them is untrue. Apply enough local pressure and you can run THEM out of YOUR party. I was one of those blindsided during the Goldwater movement. Until recently, the best we could do was keep these people at bay. However, George W. Bush has forever linked the GOP establishment to endless wars, oppressive government and torture, as they marched in lockstep behind them. YOU have the moral high ground, now use it.

Here in CA, Arnold Schwartzenegger, who I call Arnold Kennedy, is a RINO adn working VERY hard to destroy the GOP from within.
A HUGE example is this marijuana legislation, Arnold says he will not sign. Prop 215 passed with 56% of the vote and that vote has climbed, as Obama's ratings climbed when Holder annouced he would not bust states with medical marijuana laws.
The GOP in my district is under 20%. Decline to State Party is over 20% and I find there are allot of organizations operating to support Indy candidates. I wish C4L was one, because the fight for the rising Indy power is on. Yes, Ventura would be good, Block would be good... we need more Ron Paul Federalists in the Indy movement.

to hear about your father's illness and hope that he is doing better. As for your dilemma with your party affiliation: both major parties are polluted...why not become a part of the Libertarian movement?

I followed the Doctor's advice
I followed the Doctor's advice to turn the Republican party around. I did everything according to the book. Now I'm here and I'm avoided like the plague in my own party. Still tricks being played here in SC of course and it's nearly impossible to "have a say"....especially if the party wants to keep you quiet. So how do I in all honesty, encourage others to join a party that does not share their views or even want to "be seen" with libertarian minded Republicans?
I cannot say much else because I had such faith in SC and am totally disgruntled with the GOP in SC, it actually has me feeling pretty pukey.

I went to SF to meet Ron Paul and I met a number of people I have known for years, very politically involved, and Ron Paul didn't want to "play" in Thompsons back yard, and quit frankly, since Ron Paul is writing legislature many of us approve on ending cannabis prohibition, we could have bank rolled him to the WH NO problem. He wouldn't come near our district with a 200 mile yard stick, eh?
For those of us who have issues, who have investments, who have solutions, I can't say we need a party, appears going Indy is ripe with all these new campaign laws, but I for one do not have time to join a party and spend money to fight my own party.

I can only tell you my feelings, whether you consider that dis-info or not, I can't help. You can call me a traitor if you'd like, however I am no traitor to Liberty. And I'm no "kid", I'm 42 years old.
I am wrestling with this decision. I did put in a lot of time but very little $ unless you count all the $'s I spent on the Ron Paul campaign, C4L and the hundreds of C4L pocket Constitutions I've paid for. I'm very tired of this whole fighting the "GOP Monster" thing. This is why I alluded to wishing I could "be inside Dr. P's heart and mind" and use the tools he's used to "beat down" this seemingly insurmountable neo-con establishment (GOP) for over 30 years. No I don't want to "give up" Sarge, but I am poorly equipped on how to handle this further without outright abandoning of the party. How much longer do we wait to see if more eyes will be opened? My particular district contains one of the highest (if not the highest) GOP base in the country. If after two years of HR1207'ing these people, they still continue on this same path of "more war, more torture, more money", I'm not sure they can be helped. I don't want to give up on the party, the party gave up on me!!
It is not just that Lindsey Graham upsets me, it is also the response of the "Christian Conservative crowd" at the convention who applaud Graham for "more war" and "more torture"!!! They all just sat there and applauded and wailed like slobbering seals. And these are the same folks that wear their badge of "Christian Conservative" with ulti-pride without a thought to the "Just War Doctrine of Christianity". Hypocrites and Pharisees they are!!!
I've been waiting for 2 years for SC to finally "get it". I've just known in my heart that eventually, the Palmetto State would find her old back bone and fight! The applause for Graham solidified we have a very long way STILL to go and I'm not sure our nation can wait much longer.
Offer advice to me please Sarge as I'm rather insulted that you suggest according to my personal feelings, I'm a traitor and dis-info agent. You don't have a clue what I've done for Liberty, how can you make a remark like that? What makes me traitorous here? I have not abandoned "the post of Liberty" and never will, but I am being honest in my questioning of being aligned with an "anti-Christ" party. Revolutions are not easy
Revolutions are not for the feint hearted. Revolutions are not won in a day. The reason the founding fathers won against the British was not because of the better equipment, numbers, or training, but because of the fact that they refused to give up. The colonies barely won two battles the whole war, but they bled out the British and that is what we must do to the status quo of the Democrats and Republicans.
Education and personal testimonies will win this revolution if it is going to be a nonviolent one.
The Republican party/Christian Conservative movement lost its way a long time ago. It has taken us years and years to get here and it will take us years to get out. It is easier to let someone think for you and speak for you than to be better educated and involved.
This revolution must be a revolution that believes love, faith, and hope always win and will win out against evil or else we will lose heart and fall away.
I watched MLK and feel that he and Kennedy went through some of the same things as us. I believe that in the 50-60s there was a revolution but was destroyed and hijacked.

Hope this helps. Numbers are growing and people are being educated. Even if the mASS media are only reporting some of the bailout and big government crap, it is still some education. I think a lot of us "Conservative Christians"
are waking up to the fact that we have been used for many years. I also think a lot of us are realizing that the 'war' has not been against terror, but as a tool for expanding the self serving interests of an elite few. One of the examples set by Dr. Paul is his ability to put his own religious beliefs on the shelf out of love for his fellow man. When Christians see that in action, they cannot help but recognize it.
Before the election Dr. Paul barely showed up on radar. Now, he is showing up everywhere. There are thousands of home schooling families who support Dr. Paul and many others who have heard him and said "this guy makes sense". The truth of the matter is this: the Republican party cannot win a major election without our vote. The reason they aren't scared now is because they just don't know how many of us there are.

The first time I went to my local republican meeting, I felt the same way. In September of 2007, after listening to my fellow GOP members make insulting comments about Ron Paul, I felt like hitting the shower the minute I walked into my house.
Don't let this make you leave the party without giving it a little more thought. You have real passion. People see that and it is rare. Someday, something will click with someone who hears something you say, and they will awaken. They have bought into the whole GOP party bullying tactic of war is good, torture is good, taxes are good, and losing our liberties is good, if it is done in the name of security.
The next generation will soon be in charge. A generation that gets its news from something other than ABC, Fox, and NBC. Thank goodness!
