Email from Dr. Paul: Please Support Adam Kokesh

0 votes

Dear Friends,

Adam Kokesh has been a tremendous supporter - of both me AND you! As a leader of Iraqi Veterans Against the War, Adam has spent years traveling the country to spread our message of peace, a strong national defense and limited government. Adam has tremendous credibility because of his service in the United States Marine Corps and I have deep respect for his commitment to principle.

And now, Adam Kokesh needs our support.

Adam has formed an exploratory committee to run for Congress in his home state of New Mexico. Sending Adam Kokesh to Congress would be a tremendous victory for the Freedom Movement, and if we come together and stand behind him, he has a real chance to win.

This race will be difficult, but I know Adam has the energy and drive to be successful and pour every ounce of himself into this effort. I urge you to go to www.KokeshforCongress.com and support him in anyway you feel comfortable. Whether it is making a financial contribution, volunteering or getting more information share with your friends and family, Adam needs your support now so he can start down this long journey with momentum and a strong wind at his back.

We have a chance to help a real patriot and lover of liberty join me in Washington. Again, I hope you will help me support Adam Kokesh for Congress.

In Liberty,

Ron Paul

You are right, and that what

You are right, and that what makes an excellent leader. He strongly believes in freedom and other issues that most of us agree with, but just because he sounds different then most people you know doesn't mean we should push him aside. This is like saying we should not support Ron Paul because he looks like KKK leaders...I am sure I could think of a better example(lol) but do you see the point I am trying to make? AND he will be a good leader once the revolution comes, a rallying-type.

Adam Kokesh!!!

Is someone I trust! and we need more like him.

Adam has proven himself to be an outstanding leader.

Adam is exactly what this movement needs. He deserves our support.

Ron Paul is my President.

Way to go...Great Job Adam!

Bump!

Seems that there is an effort to marginalize great people here on the DailyPaul!

I don't have a good feeling about this guy

This will be the first time I have not supported a candidate supported by Ron Paul - and I have supported other non-Ron Paul candidates with hundreds of dollars in donations. Frankly, I don't like his Leninesque presentation at all. He really comes off like a socialist dictator when he gives his speeches. He just seems to me like he's more interested in self-promotion and writing his own Wikipedia page rather than promoting freedom. This picture on his page just screams Lenin to me:

I just don't have a good feeling about this guy. What the heck was he doing fighting in Iraq in the first place if he is so against it? And what's with the weapon's offense that got him discharged? His education shows he took psychology. Yes, psychology. What a charade that is. Maybe he was trying to learn how to manipulate people.

If he wants to be taken seriously he needs to make something of himself first. Actually accomplish something of value. Take 10 and 20 years to show the world what he's made of by succeeding in the free market world. Then once he's had some success and shown that he truly does appreciate freedom and prosperity, and he's learned a little more about life than his 27 years, then I would feel better about supporting him. Right now he's just someone who hasn't accomplished anything and made a big mistake volunteering to fight foreign wars. Ron Paul at this time in his life was starting his own practice and gaining experience in the free markets. That experience gave him the wisdom he needed in congress.

Please do a little more research on Adam Kokesh! I for one understand your feeling's of mistrust, with all the corruption that goes on in our government, it hard to find some one to trust. My husband and I have had 2 occations to pick Adam Kokesh up at the Memphis Tn airport and bring him to Oxford Ms, it's an Hr. and half drive where we had one on one time to get to know adam, not to mention the time we spent with him at our rally's he has spoken at. I even cooked him dinner. Adam is very passionate in what he's doing to bring attention to the corruption in government, the war, and wake people up! Also

Fortune Favors the Bold

Ron Paul signed up for the Air Force after the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Fortune Favors the Bold

Did he?

I've never heard that before. I do know that he signed up for the Korean War. But that was only to get a better position because he was going to be drafted...

Yes

Fortune Favors the Bold

He volunteered and became a flight surgeon.

Fortune Favors the Bold

Draft or volunteer

I thought I heard Ron Paul say that he was going to be drafted, and instead of doing that he volunteered.

#$We need to build political strength and political will^*

We need to build political strength and political will.

That's exactly what I remember

him saying at the RFR in Sept 2008.

Do you have a link?

There's no reference to the Cuban Missile thing on his Wiki page.

After the war

Fortune Favors the Bold

He devoted himself pretty much full time to the anti-war cause and veterans support. It's unfair to say he hasn't "done anything."

Fortune Favors the Bold

But it's a good question imo

Why did he sign up for the war in Iraq? And why did he try and go a 2nd time? Kinda weird.

And also that RJ Harris guy faught in the Iraq war on two deployments! Why? I don't trust the intelligence of someone who had to go to war to figure out it is bad...

hm

Fortune Favors the Bold

Not sure. I remember he said his father was a libertarian, and that that's how he grew up. Maybe he was an interventionist libertarian? Like, oh, we have to free the people of Iraq. I do remember he talked about this.

Because he LOOKS like Lenin?

The problem with Lenin was not sartorial or stylistic, it was ideological.

I don't care if my rescuer looks like Lenin, Stalin, Dillinger, or Lincoln.

As for waiting another ten or twenty years for him to "accomplish something"... do you really think we have that much time?

If you don't support him, you don't support him. Fine. But spare us the superficial silliness while you search your teevee for some blow-dried blowhard who "looks" more congressional. You might as well join Romney's Robots.

I agree with the prof

PHILOSOPHY is what matters.

Kokesh has proven himself a principled defender of the Constitutional Republic.

Who knows

Nothing to do with his looks, it's his presentation and his background. He just doesn't have the sort of background that warrants putting our full blown support behind. If he wins, great, that's good for us, but I don't think he's particularly electable. I'm all for throwing our full support behind the Rand Pauls and Peter Schiffs, but this guy doesn't have the key ingredients yet in my opinion.

If we could get Rand Paul in the Senate and Adam Kokesh in Congress, we'd have an excellent start!

What party is he going to

What party is he going to run as? Doesn't really matter to me he'll have my support, I'm just curious.

His website doesn't say

Hopefully the Democrat tho. He'll have a much better chance there in attracting the young people. The GOP is considered a stale piece of crustified yack cheese among most young people...

I saw Adam at the Campaign

I saw Adam at the Campaign for Liberty Regional Conference. He makes me feel proud of my country again. It was good of Ron Paul to support him with this letter; I just donated.

Sorry, but whoever thought

Sorry, but whoever thought it would be a good idea to have a picture of Kokesh in a vein bulging Hitlerian speach pose at the top of his site wasn't thinking too clearly. Doesn't exactly appeal to a large base. Don't get me wrong, it was a great speach but that freeze frame just isn't cool.

Helpful comment, I hope Adam or his team

will see this thread. Also, his wikipedia bio doesn't present as positive an image as may be needed for the campaign. Again it's the feisty, rather headstrong firebreather rather than the smart, sensitive, well-informed and morally courageous individual we know that needs to shine out to the general public.

I think

right now the site is more to inspire people to contribute.
