This is the key. The only thing he has wrong is the time frame. They infer that all states do this every 2 years. This is not true. In KY we do this every 4 yrs, during the presidential election yr. If you get 3 people from each voting precinct to show up you will take over. It's as simple as that. This should be our ultimate goal if you really want to change things. This a a 100% sure way. I witnessed this last year while we were Ron Paul delegates all the way to state convention. This is what every single drop of our energy should be behind. If we had 3 people to show up in 08 we would now control the entire party. This is no joke.

Yeah, this whole 'precinct leader' thing worked so well...

Not that I think it's a bad thing, it's just that if push comes to shove - and it will - precinct leaders will become a 'party funded' election.

Do you think the dems or repubs will allow their election process to slip from their control?

I find this interesting that many people find this idea as something new. The entire point of Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty project has, from the beginning, been to get people to become precinct committee members for their local political parties. We have 500+ Ron Paul Meetup members here yet, after much begging and pleading, we have only been able to get about 20 to actually get off their asses and do this. We could easily take over but there are no takers. If the people at Wag the Dog have some secret formula to motivate these lazy people I'm all for it. Otherwise they will be wagging a dead dog!

I was a Precinct Leader, but

I was a Precinct Leader, but was unable to go to the county meeting due to work. I was at the time only 21.

I would like to still get involved in the process. Sometimes though, it seems so monstrous in size and ethics that it makes me not want to be part of the process. That clearly shows the need to be involved. However, I think I will try this out. The only problem is I am registered at my parent’s house and now I live 10 mins away in an apartment which I think I will be moving out of in August.

I like how this was laid out too. Its very mind boggling to try to figure out where to begin to get involved when you are an outsider, possibly unwelcome, by the McCain supporting Republican party establishment.

So now that we know to run for precinct executive, does anyone know how to do that in California? Is this done through the local party or can forms be filed through the registrar to get on the ballot? Anyone know the easiest process?

We both seem to acknowledge the importance of communication to our mutual hope to see progress towards liberty. I offered my opinion as to what I anticipate will be the true catalytic spark to permanent revolution. Every action subversive to the regime is a step in the right direction so long as it lays solid foundation, but permanent revolution will need to be such as will not be easily co-opted with resulting despair. To my mind, our real work is not about logistics subordinated to Their system. Yes ... monkey wrench them ... undermine Their facade of legitimacy ... but, revolution is not a head count:

I am a product of the RP's campaign. When I learned his platform, which wasn't a platform at all it was OUR HISTORY there was so much to learn. For me, the idea of precinct leaders, delegates etc was, although important, it was the message that excited me and I had to re-learn our history. I didn't run off to my local Republican Meeting, because I didn't know enough to go spouting off and when I started seeing how others were being treated I knew it wasn't for me at that time. Although I still have a lot to learn, I am more comfortable, knowledgable and confident to step up to this level.

I am still very reluctant to get involved in the Republican Party as they have yet to acknowledge the success of RP's message and the impact it has on young and old alike. I would prefer to work in the Constitutional Party, but I trust RP's 30 years of experience on this matter and he has indicated a need to stay in the Republican Party (for the life of me I have no idea why) but I will follow his advice.

I am able to connect the dots on so many things now, but there are still some things that I need to be spoon fed and wagthedog did just that. It's not a slap on the face to C4L, wagthedog just hit the mark with a visible strategy for me.

That's exactly it, I'm relatively new to politics and a product of public education; things that may seem like second nature to a lot of you on this site, need to be explained to us noobs.

We need patience and open dialogue in order to get us all up to speed on how local party politics works.

Thanks to the good folks in Greenville, SC and Wag the Dog 2010, I finally understand the importance of local party involvement. I (and others like me) have been working hard since summer '07, but are finally seeing a larger part of the big picture.

I come to you all with my hat in my hand; us noobs need the veterans' help.

I think that part of the problem is that this is so simple it's hard to believe or comprehend. The precinct committee persons elect the county leaders. Then the counties elect the state leaders. Then the state leaders elect the national leaders. If Ron Paul type supporters get the majority of precinct positions then we control the whole ball of wax. We get to determine who the leaders are, who the candidates will be, and who gets booted out of office.
I must tell you even though we only have 20 people here out of a membership of about 150 committeemen, you would be amazed at how much influence we have been able to exert on the old rank and file. We are educating them and swinging over a large number. I started passing out educational DVD's. Last month everyone got a copy of The Obama Deception. One guy approached me and apologized for his behaviour against Dr Paul during the election and said his eyes have been opened. This is doable if everyone will get busy and just do it. The Wag The Dog project should be a sticky on this forum, because it's that important.

I have contact with about 100 people who joined us at a 9/12 (I Know, I Know), it's a Glen Beck thing but it is also a group of people who are sick and damn tired of what they have been getting. I hope this gains ground and it seems like an action plan which is far more than I have gotten out of C4L. The site also reccomends We The People Foundation and Oath Keepers which I have been following too.
