Earth-shattering news of May 15th?

0 votes

I remember hearing a two weeks ago or so claiming that there was some 'big news' that was going to fundamentally change everything.

It was supposedly something that would bring everything into question and throw the world into pandemonium.

So what was it? Missing link found?

So, I was informed below that the date was ....

May 25th not the 15th.

So, the earth hasn't been shattered yet.

Maybe this is the precursor to the 'shattering' event.

The consensus is that religion will take the hit. Are we being led to slaughter, or what?

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

I was out in my yard just yesterday,

and I was astonished!
A came across this craw-dad, and it had eyes, and legs, and even had an "opposing claw"!
Yep, great grand-daddy, fer sure.
No doubt, it was the "missing link".
This changes everything!
Now we can worship the state, just like all of this research has been tryiing to get us to do.
I mean, after all, if these guys don't "discover" stuff like this, they don't get their gov't funding for next year.

I think the fossil was in a private collection.

Not sure what the government has to do with it.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

"Where the fossil is"

has nothing to do with it.
It's the "scientists" drawing the "conclusions" about what it is and what it means, that's corrupt.

Science is corrupt.
Because the "scientists" getting "public or foundation funding"(most of them) strive to make politically-motivated conclusions, based on what their funding agencies want them to produce.
Oh, you doubt that?
Just take a look at the "global warming" scam, and the NIST report about 9/11, the "fluoride debacle", the "eggs are bad for you", the "cheeseburger study", "aspartame is safe", etc etc..
Face it folks, "scientists" are essentially government/foundation(same thing)-funded flunkies who "conclude" what they're told to conclude, in large part.

Oh yes, there are still some good ones who aren't. And they are countermanded by the many who are, and the point is to "shout-over" any dissent, so that the 'many many scientists" who support the politically motivated conclusions seem to appeal more on the collectivist level to those who don't know.

These days, "conclusions" by "scientists" are about as reliable and truthful as an interview with Barney Frank.

Unfortunately,

most of my hair has gone extinct, so I don't need much hair gel these days.

The missing link?

What's next? We learn aliens injected Ida with their DNA?

Another uneducated

Another uneducated comment..Dog's decended from wolves..We as humans have in fact produced breeds of dogs to suit our needs...and sure..thousands of years..that's not a long time on the evolutionary scale..unless you're one of those rediculous people that believe the Earth is between 6 and 14 thousand years old..and if thats the case then there's no hope...

:)

As an aside, that is one reason you do not find very many Blackfoot christians. The tribe was told that the Earth is between 6 and 14 thousand years old.

The tribe has itself recorded the last 33,000 or so winters that it has gone through.

So christianity didn't make much sense to them....

~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~

God just tricked them into thinking it was 33,000 winters

Just like he planted dinosaur bones, to trick us.
I'm being sarcastic. I think living a good moral life is all any religious prophet has ever asked for---governments and kings made up all the dumb little rules and imposible for logical people to believe stories and timelines.
Why don't Muslims eat pork? Pigs are much more useful alive than dead in the desert.
If Hindus don't eat cows, why do they have beef curry?

Actually...

I have a penchant for bringing Native Americans, whiskey and a drum together sometimes on my spread. Here is a reason why you should not do this, for logic's sake. I had a drunken christian Indian telling me once in the wee hours that she had just figured that mess all out. It was because there used to be more seasons in the year! That's why the old testament guys lived so long... they were counting the winters as a year, but there were lots more winters in a year back then.

She dances well though, so she has her good points too... :)

Ah yes

But now take a really small dog, and something like a great dane and try to breed them naturally, it just wont go, in just a few thousand years weve managed to breed two breeds of dogs that are unable to have offspring together naturallly.

Now if one had a million years in the end the two dogs would be as different as cats and dogs are.

Better do more research.

Not true, they can have offspring, although probably not viable if it has the head of a great dane and the body of a small dog. But this does not demonstrate speciation, instead all that you have demonstrated is that a wild dog has the capacity to produce both a great dane and a small dog, but a great dane or a small dog is not capable of giving rise to a wild dog. It would be this latter case that would demonstrate evolution. What we see is the oposite. There is a loss of genetic information and not an increase in genetic information.
grant

I said they cant breed

I said they cant breed naturally. Maybe with artificial insemination and even then the dane would have to be female and the lets say chihuaha would have to be the male and even then the puppies would have a whole slew of hereditary diseases and would most likely not survive for long.

So these two dogs can no longer naturally viably interbreed so that theyre offspring can survive in the wild. So if we let them out into the wild they would never have any viable offspring and eventually theyre differences would become so great that theyre offspring would be either extremely deformed or sterile.

You know, you can breed for example a lion and a tiger and you get a liger. They are mosty sterile but have been known to have on occasion been able to produce offspring.

Do you think lions and tigers are the same species?

And about the loss of genetic information, usually that is not the case, usually what happens is that a nucleotide will change a gene so that it no longer works, or it will give it another function that might be beneficial to the animal.

I felt it...Didn't you?

History Channel Hype for "Global Event" May 25

This is supposed to "change everything." Oh brother.

Here is a blog which has been following to hype and has some interesting observations.

Would this not be a

Would this not be a continuous process? Show me anything that is partially evolved? If I came from a monkey and monkeys are still around then where are all the intermediately evolved monkeys today. The world should be filled with creatures that are at every stage of this evolution but I have not seen any around, have you?

and monkeys share a common ancestor. Humans didn't evolve from monkeys.

The process of speciation on an evolutionary time scale happens very quickly, as it occurs when groups face a situation near their survival boundary.

Fortune Favors the Bold

Need more study.

That concept doesn't make sense nor is it scientifically possible in nature based on a theory of evolution. For monkeys and humans to share a common ancestor, that ancestor would have had to have a superior set of genes at a higher level than both humans and monkeys for them to have been selected from. In nature there is no evidence of this in the fossil record.
When a group is faced with a situation near their survival boundary, there is always less genetic material in the gene pool of that population as non-viable genotypes are eliminated. This always leads to an inferior offspring or extinction and never gives rise to an increase in genetic variability. Mutations are "always" a result of a loss of genetic variability. Unless there is an outside introduction of new genetic material, such that requires manipulation that demonstrates the action of a Creator.
By the way there is no such thing as races in humans, we are all part of the human race. Unless you are going to tell me that because someone whose phenotype expresses gigantism cannot produce viable offspring with someone whose phenotype expresses dwarfism. These are just variations within the group and not a different race.

no

Fortune Favors the Bold

Genetic mutations don't result in a loss of genetic material. I'm not sure where you're getting this. I also don't understand your point about common ancestors. Evolution is not just the reduction of trait types, it is also the creation of new material from a variety of mutations, some of which will only manifest (i.e.) recessive forms at survival boundaries.

the funny thing is

Fortune Favors the Bold

evolution is not necessarily incompatible with Christianity. If you think of genesis as a metaphor that was comprehensible to the people at the time, there's no reason why the mechanism of creation can't be evolution.
