We lose due to lack of people

I was part of a campaign to get honest statesmen into local offices and we lost. Some people helped and gave it their all, while many people we contacted did nothing. Our plans, where implemented, worked well, and all of the people on the campaign worked where they could. We lost because not enough people showed up.

I see so many people sign up on this group website and other sites who are just hanging out. They like to talk about all their problems and all the problems they see, but don't ever do anything solid to help actually fix the problem, namely vote out incumbents who don't listen to their people. What are they expecting to happen if they aren't helping statesmen get elected?

Not only are there many people who are just hanging out in the liberty movement, but also coalitions that should be working against the machine are fighting seperately rather then working together. As a grassroots movement we have many forces against us but the one major asset we have is people who can agree on a common theme. This was brilliantly done when Ron Paul linked the third party candidates during the 2008 election.

The people who are just hanging out and those who want to fight alone need to start showing up if we want to make a serious effort at reversing the course of the country. Success, in my experience, is determined mostly on just showing up. The 70's peace movement knew this and stopped a war. Why can't the people of this generation learn from the success of the past and just show up?

you-no

Show up?

This was one of the most successful grassroots campaigns in history. We didn't win but consider the opponents. Powerful political and business figures, corporate media and an angry uneducated population bent on "change". Speaking of showing up glad to see you here newbie. 19 weeks and already criticizing. Instead of posting your opinion post your solution. I'm much more interested in that.

LOL

The stupidest thing I see on forums is someone assuming that the forum age of the poster has anything to do with thier intelligence. What, did they start thinking when they made a username and password? Then you just get wiser as you go?

You started 1 year and 19 weeks ago but yet your attack of the OP was rather simple. Does that mean when you made a username and password you had the IQ of a small dirty soap dish and have been steadily improving?

How about, since you have been here 1 year and 19 weeks so you probably have godlike wisdom at this point, offer a solution for the OP? Instead of just jumping on them for how long they've posted here and then wanting an answer from them?

Newbie indeed... ~sigh~
