Ron Paul Debates Ed Schulz on MSNBC, 5/20/09

0 votes

This comes after Schulz accused Ron Paul of talking "psycho talk" earlier in the week.

With all due respect, that Schulz guy is an idiot! What is the point of his show if he doesn't listen, and doesn't allow his "guest" to talk? Schulz keeps saying, "we're going to have him back..." There is no need for Dr. Paul ever to go back on that horrid program. Thanks but no thanks, Mr. Ed.

Here is the link to Ed's MSNBC page & email contact form (lower right). You know what to do.

This deserves another FCC complaint...

I already have one against MSNBC and Keith Olbermann, so it should come from someone else. In fact, Ron Paul or the C4L should file a libel suit against MSNBC and Ed Schultz. Who knows, MSNBC might even be forced to fire Schultz, which Schultz truly deserves.

Schultz's arguments are totally bogus, and he knows it. Should we re-institute slavery if a majority of Americans believe it benefits them?
Hitler murdered tens of thousands of Gypsies and handicapped people in concentration camps (before they rounded up the Jews) and still won a tremendous victory in plebiscite for him to acquire dictatorial powers.

Don't acknowledge the FCC!

The FCC should not go around censoring television! Why would you give them credibility by going to them and whining? That is completely against the ideas of liberty.

What an idiot

For the younger people who think that the Department of Education has been around forever, I'd like to remind you that it was created by the Carter administration as a payoff to the teacher's unions. When I went to high school the Department of Education didn't exist. Children got a better education then than they do now. It is typical of a loud mouthed sheep like Ed Schultz to think that if the Federal government doesn't do something it won't get done at all.

As for the Department of Agriculture, again it is foolish to think that we wouldn't have food if government didn't subsidize corporate farmers.

This just shows that Faux News doesn't have a monopoly on rude unthinking blowhards.

Another rude moron

Anyone with strong arguments doesn't have to talk over other people's responses. I think this joker's rudeness is going to backfire on him.

The good Dr...

..took the wrong approach with this guy and unfortunately, I dont think it turned out well for him (Dr Paul). For guys like this who keep pressing the issue about safe food and whatnot, your defense cant [just] be "its unconstitutional". People want to feel safe, they want to know the food they are eating has passed some standard. Dr Paul should have just stuck to his guns about the real problems with the FDA. Not just said things like its not in the Constitution.

Another point, Dr Paul did say "do away with the Dept of Agriculture" in the interview in question, then kinda backtracked on that statement a bit.

Granted, I understand where Dr Paul is coming from and agree with him, but most folks, who are clueless (ie helpless) would not, and wouldve walked away thinking he was a kook.

Dr Paul, should not subject himself to people like this. He should just send them a written statement, if they want to question his positions...

i agree

even statism on the dept of agriculture could be backed up with a conservative constitutional argument. the department of agriculture is totally in line with monsanto and almost no one else.

This man...

is grandstanding, I'm glad Ron didn't back down, after all he has been handling amateurs like Ed for a long time.

FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!

Didn't know MSNBC hired WarcriminnalCheney as their new host... Oh wait... that's just a neoLiB in guise of a neoCON. SO this is the new Left's bread and butter now. Sie Food Sekurity!!!, as if you cared, Ed.

Dept of Ed? est. 1970's, offshoot from Dpt of Health and Human Services, est 1953. NONE of which did or does what Ed claims. Besides, I believe our current Dpt of Ed. was an offshoot of the Native American Indoctrination program.

Ed, you just got PWNZD by a 73 yr old avuncular sweet old sage! Love it. The Doc is becoming much more savvy these days on TV. He just called ed the Psycho! ...all the rant I'm hearing... ha!

Oooh them guvment loves your children, ed!

LOL

How cute . . . Hannity's left-wing twin brother!

As an ex-beekeeper/farmer...

Apparently Mr. Ed feeds his face and has no idea how food is grown or prepared.
Every person I know that grows or prepares food has the stigma of a lawsuit hanging over their head, which could bankrupt them right out of business if their product is harmful in any way.

Local food grown by local farmers and sold to mostly local people will in most cases keep food safe sanitary and cheaper than food that is shipped and packaged half way around the world. I have had many helpful hints from customers, on my finished food products.

Of the millions of people eating everyday, in most cases the food is not the problem. Lack of sanitation causes bacteria to grow contaminating perfectly good food after it's been picked, butchered, or hatched, or extracted.

Schultz, by showing little respect for an 11 term congressman, is not worth giving any listening time too, in my opinion,,,let the bum grow his own food, I'd refuse to sell to him with his attitude problem.

Ron Paul is My President

hahahaha Schulz could not do a thing to defend himself except yell and interrupt, which Paul schooled him on. I have never, ever seen the good Doctor defend the Constitution so vehemently as he did against this ass.

Is that the same Mr. Ed that use to play a horse on TV.?

Now he`s playing an ass on TV. Must have been a demotion, that`s why he so upset.

Let me cheer you up

Last weekend I went to the greenfest in Chicago sporting my killer GLOBAL WARMING IS BULLSHEET t-shirt. Besides the fact that I got dirty looks and some feeble attacks from these retarded liberals I ran into a booth of the liberal radio station. Don't remember the exact name of it but it's the station for which this Ed Schultz character works for. He wasn't there but these other young liberals heard a few words from me and couldn't respond to. As I walked away I called them a bunch of parasites.

Funny how hundreds or perhaps thousands of these phony environmentalists hated my guts yet none of those who attacked me were not able to prove that my T-shirt was a lie.

You are brave! I grew up in

You are brave! I grew up in San Francisco and kept my politics to myself because let me tell you there is nothing more dangerous than a bunch of collectivist do-gooders under the spell of whatever the current liberal fad is. These borgs are always looking for a target to root out and uphold as an example of political incorrectness. They can't think for themselves and are trained in the mantras of their movement so it is impossible to debate them or appeal to logic. You've got to break them away from the group and over a long period of time detox them from the group think -even then the prospect of an unemotional and logical thought is not likely. My own sister became a socialist borg after going to UC Berkeley and we've never recovered her brain. The whole family has to tip toe around her during family gatherings. I've been admonished for saying the words "sweat shop" and "Mexican" by her as taboo, just to give an example of how far the pc group think and thought crime police go with this.

Watch out!

Bear in mind those "hundreds, or perhaps thousands" of phony environmentalists will be right behind the goons when they come for you, man!

Government Flunky

I didn't realize what a big-government shill this guy is.

Does he think he'll be spared, because of his unprincipled water-carrying, when the storm troopers descend upon us?

What a maroon!

Shultz is your typical

Shultz is your typical liberal who believes that just because we don't want the government to do something, doesn't mean we don't want it done.

Right now we have "Food safety" socialism in this country. And it's terrible. It's always the big agrofarmers that the USDA inspects that has the problems. All those peanut scares came from the peanuts gotten from the "National Peanut" association or whatever.

Several of the clients that we take call for at my work sell peanuts and cashews, etc. But they're home grown, and none of those companies had any peanuts or any other nuts that were bad.

Shultz is insane if he believes that companies don't want their customers to be healthy. How are they supposed to make a profit with-out any repeat business? You don't get repeat business by making your customers sick, or killing them. Most companys hire their own 3rd party companies to come in and inspect their places because the USDA does such a shoddy job of inspecting.

The was a case a while back where some farmers wanted to test their own cow feed for Mad Cow and the USDA didn't let them -- it was illegal.

This guys an idiot.

"Some have proposed to

"Some have proposed to Congress to incorporate [a central agricultural] society. I am against that, because I think Congress cannot find in all the enumerated powers any one which authorizes the act, much less the giving the public money to that use. I believe, too, if they had the power it would soon be used for no other purpose than to buy with sinecures useful partisans. I believe it will thrive best if left to itself." --Thomas Jefferson to Robert Livingston, 1801

Wow

That was ridiculous. People are so naive. Yeah, like our food supply is secure and safe thanks to all the government oversight. Last time I checked the mass commercialized food supply had all kinds of contaminants like pesticides. Food's pretty safe when you buy it locally from people you can trust or yes, god forbid, grow it yourself - you obese, lazy man. Probably eats 2/3's of his meals at McDonald's and Burger King. "Oh oh oh, Thank you government for keeping me so safe, ohhhhh the terrorists, ohhh mad cow disease." Makes me sick.

What an ASS

Man, that was hard to watch.

Hheeey, Willlber...Mr. Ed doesn't have a clue...

Dr.Paul ran circles around this guy. I am sure he tires of trying to save the sheep from themselves but, hey want can you do? I won"t give Mr.Ed the courtesy of a visit to send him to hell..it still gives him play which I do not care to do...."horses ass."

I'll never watch an Ed

I'll never watch an Ed Schultz post here again. He's Awful!

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Gee! Mr. Ed makes me glad I don't have a TV

RP held his own and got in a few good digs, and I understand his desire to defend his position. But, anyone who watches a show like this is seriously demented. This show is akin to the lunatics running the asylum.
