H. RES. 287
My congresscritter still hasn't co-sponsored HR 1207, but I saw that she proposed this house resolution that makes me think she might support HR1207 even if she isn't co-sponsoring it:
-------
HRES 287 IH
111th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. RES. 287
Directing the Clerk of the House of Representatives to post on the public Internet site of the Office of the Clerk a record, organized by Member name, of recorded votes taken in the House, and directing each Member who maintains an official public Internet site to provide an electronic link to such record.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
March 25, 2009
Ms. BEAN (for herself, Mr. COOPER, Mr. KIND, Mr. HELLER, Mr. FLAKE, and Mr. CAMPBELL) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on House Administration
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RESOLUTION
Directing the Clerk of the House of Representatives to post on the public Internet site of the Office of the Clerk a record, organized by Member name, of recorded votes taken in the House, and directing each Member who maintains an official public Internet site to provide an electronic link to such record.
Resolved,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This resolution may be cited as the `Voting Record Transparency Resolution'.
SEC. 2. RECORD OF RECORDED VOTES ON PUBLIC INTERNET SITE OF CLERK.
(a) Responsibilities of Clerk- The Clerk of the House of Representatives shall post on the public Internet site of the Office of the Clerk a record, organized by Member name, of the recorded votes of each Member (including each Delegate or Resident Commissioner to the Congress) taken in the House, including the roll, date, issue, question, result, and title or description of the vote, and any cost estimate of the Congressional Budget Office related to the vote.
(b) Links on Member Sites- Each Member (including a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to the Congress) who maintains an official public Internet site using amounts from the Members' Representation Allowance shall provide a clearly presented electronic link on the site to the Member's individual recorded vote information described in subsection (a).

This is another no-brainer that should have bipartisan support. The only problem is that a House Resolution only applies to the House of Representatives, and politicians are loathe to pass rules that they might have to be accountable to, so it'll probably just die in committee with no media exposure or public awareness.
I'll be sending her a thank you note for proposing this - I'm sure she'll appreciate the kind word after all the unkind ones I've sent her in the last year :)

This sounds like a good one.
