Torture issue is a distraction

Why in the world is there so much hand-ringing about this water boarding issue? It was done on 3 people, none of them US citizens, and all of them incredibly bad people who were telling us that they had information about a forthcoming attack. And, all three of them are fine, just like the thousands of special forces soldiers who have been subjected to the same thing. Unlike the war, it did not hurt anyone, and it did not have any impact on our economy or the level of taxation or public debt.
Our economy is in the process of being taken over by the government. This seems like a distraction.
I realise no one else will agree with me on this one. Call me a neo-con or whatever you usually do.
»

You are right about all of these things being distractions.
However, what would you say about water boarding as an isolated issue.
It is torture, and it should not be done.
Coercion, lies, infiltration are all allowed, I believe, i.e. Mission Impossible stuff.
With the torture being in the headlines,
as with any other topic reaching headlines, very well possible that it is a distraction albeit a very serious issue that should not be ignored.
(btw I doubt very much waterboarding is the only form of torture being used, nor that only 3 prisoners were subjected to this)
However, by focusing on all the different issues, be they check points at the different high ways, chemtrails, vaccines, innocents being tasered ... a lot of energy is redirected and we tend to lose track of the broad picture of where the world is heading at the hands of those who are currently in charge of this planet. They have taken charge of this world with plans we learn more about every day.
The issue of gun control is slowly gaining momentum and I have a link to the documentary 'Innocents Betrayed' which portrays the horrors many countries have already endured. Gun control is 'sold' by the government to make you citizens safe but we know that is not the case. It is part of all the other issues we see (check points, tightening laws, losing liberties etc etc). The documentary gives the full horror of what is in stall and as I see it, gun control is the last hurdle for them to go ahead with their evil plans.
This is link to the 55 minute documentary about the gun control history in the 20th Century and its consequences, all planned.
No full length version on google but here is a torrent download.

I should add that this doco is not for the fainthearted.
Illegal war
Weren't these types of confessions used to justify war with Iraq? (waterboarding wasn't the only form of torture used, with the other forms used on way more than 3 people).
Illegal, premeditated, preemptive war, genocide and the deaths of nearly 1 million troops/civilians is what we should be pursuing.

Who says it was only done to three people?
That's my first question.
I have a feeling a great deal remains to be uncovered--assuming Obama will permit that to occur.

I agree
I have often found that when Washington wants to accomplish something that they know the citizens will not like they create a distraction, and it could well be that all the news coverage that is happening now with the waterboarding is just that...... it is a distraction. Not that any of us approve of torture but the officials have known about it for some time but have chosen this time to bring constant national attention to it. So it could well be a distraction for something else they are hoping to do without our interferences.
I disagree
America does not torture, so how did we come to this? The UN
Get US OUT of the UN is key to stop all this horror.

"Ingrid2" here...changed my name....we are friends now, but I would love for you to clarify your very prominent, defensive patriotism for me. I just don't understand it.
Surely you don't think the American government is, and must remain, blameless?
Yes, the American Government must remain blamless
It is not and was not the USA government. It is UN Agenda 21 and the changes it is bringing, not just to the USA, but globally, the crimes, wars, all in the name of peace and free trade, with resolutions and coalations and assassinations and torture... this is NOT American.
To believe that this is American is to say, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE USA OPENLY commited crimes, done by the UN.
When you blame the USA, you are blaming a nation of people who did not openly KNOW or believe they were committing crimes. When you blame the UN, are you blaming a collective that destroys nations OPENLY.
To me, Number6, The USA is not to blame. The UN and it's Agenda 21, Suatianable Development, by, of and for the elite, against the world of people/consumers, including USA citizens, is to blame.

Respectfully, Granger
The US gov't has been complicit in advancing the UN's agenda.
In other words, our government IS PART of the UN. And has committed crimes wholly outside of the UN and unrelated to it.
The people of this country have allowed our government to get away with too much, and even now, too many of us are supporting unjust wars and criminal actions done in secret.
Without accepting any responsibility for the mistakes, we forfeit the opportunity to correct them.
Peace.
Most Respctfully, Number6
In the USA Republic, the government leans democratic, which means, the US Government is by, of and for, we the people, however, we Americans have a problem WITHIN our government, and this is WITHIN both parties who, are not representing we the people, but representing we the people to the UN, the way any nation presents it's people, like some commodity or fodder or natural resource to be exploited...
When you say, THE USA Govt, you are including Ron Paul and a vast majority who had NOTHING at all to do with 911, or willing Bush to go to the UN for a coalation of the willing.
I do NOT agree with you AT ALL AT ALL AT ALL that we the people of the USA allowed this to happen. Did you see what MSM did to Ron Paul? MSM has been doing THAT for years!
In 1996, 56% of the state of CA passed proposition 215. I did NOT vote for that. Prop 215 became law, and then Clinton stepped in and said it was not compatible with Federal laws, and we the people ahve been watching the war on drugs rage on...
How many times did we hear the Y2K election was stolen?
I will not accept the blame for war criminals like Henry Kissinger, MacNamara, the Clintons, the Bushs, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Pelousi, Reid, Kennedy, and on and on. They are not THE GOVERNMENT.
Those who are sacrificing the USA government for a NWO want US to blame ourselves and THE GOVT, becasue they want to replace the USA government with a global government.
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

Torture is quite relevant in a movement about liberty.
Also, and certainly not to minimize waterboarding, but it is NOT the only torture method being implemented.
We cannot claim to be a freedom and liberty loving people if we remain silent about torture being done by our own country.
Shall we remain free? If we
Shall we remain free?
If we are ruled by men, those men can take our freedoms.
If we are ruled by law, those men can't legally take our freedoms.
Torture breaks the law. Shall we uphold the law or shall we allow rule by men?

WAR and LOSS OF CIVIL LIBERTIES
Should always be the top headlines. For every one man tortured, there are many thousands killed and millions enslaved or oppressed.
And the emphasis is always on waterboarding, not the raping of children...isn't that peculiar? I mean, whatever fools out there are "supporting" torture would shut up fast if they knew about what was done to children. The debate would disappear.
People are being told a little bit, and most are outraged about that, but it's the very tip of the iceberg. And the constant media focus on the TIP of the iceberg prevents a broader perspective.
Which is intentional. We are being starved of the information we really need to know, in order to fight the problems. As GI Joe said, "Knowing is half the battle."
So I agree with you- the excessive attention on torture is actually part of the problem of ignorance that allows, and ultimately gives rise to, such abuses. If people were more thorough in their research, they would be protesting in the streets all the time.
It Might Directly Be A Distraction
But Ventura, is also bringing light to the mainstream about the Sept. 11 event, oh, you say, another distraction. Is this what it's really about, Jesse Ventura, Ventura being a distraction, a side-issue? Don't let me insult you, I understand about direct verses indirect, at this point it may be my biggest argument of life. You can ignore the Jesse Ventura statement, I'm not his biggest fan, tip your hat to Ventura for bringing to light deep-ugly government corruption, whats wrong with that?
It is a looong slow process if "taking-back the Country", "restoring the Constitution" is your direct answer for freedom-liberty lost, most people aren't that patience. We are talking about years-upon-years if you're going do it the "peace-route", absolutely nothing wrong with peace, even so.
These so-called side issues give certain individuals something real to do with their lives, so, how is that a waste. Their not unconstitutional!
And, these so-called side-issues act as the Chinese torture test of ole, where they would drip water on a person's forehead and eventually a person would go insane. I say let the bastards go insane that would have us in bonds.
. . . . .
In actuality, if a person doesn't know how the Constitution is being trampled upon, how could they understand that it needs to be restored?
Knowing and understanding what you know, are not the same thing.

Only three people? Are you sure? Is that the government line?
We have 50,000 adults go missing each year in the USA, that is not counting children. Do you KNOW for a fact that none of them have been kidnapped and tortured? If you are using the media or government as fact-finders, you really need to rethink your position. All we have is the governments word that these people did anything wrong. We cannot believe anything the government tells us. This whole torture issue is to get a bunch of idiots to disregard the rule of law, but if you say it is okay to torture ANY human being for whatever reason, then you are saying it is okay to torture ALL humans for no reason. No, most torture victims are not fine, where did you hear this? Again, all your information comes directly from the propaganda machine. Please think before you post.
There are many distractions,
There are many distractions, I agree with you about that. And you might be right that the torture issue being big in the media right now could be distracting us all from something else.
Torture is still torture, though, despite the issue possibly being used as a distraction.
...
Firstly because it subverts
Firstly because it subverts Constitutional law which can then be used on anyone around the globe including Americans. Second, because it sets a bad precedent and lowers the image of Americans to the rest of the world. How can we claim we are interested in securing freedom in the rest of the world when we don't even have it here in our own policies. Third, many of us are interested in criminal prosecution of the perpetrators of such crimes and obviously it will take public pressure to make that happen.
They Get Away With It, Who Will Be Next
The American people?
The Patriot Act(s) gives them this permission, the old-time tyranny permission.
Yes.
Sorry, I don't have a happy answer there. Between what they are defining now as radicalized militia members and Barry's speech on pre-emptive indefinate thought crime detention, we're coming up on a really bad time in our history.
~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~
Torture is the essense of the entire situation.
As this govt. thinks it can torture people anytime and any way it wants and that it uses torture as policy tells all about what kind of govt. we have. It designedly captured and tortured people directly or through proxies lets you know it has no intentions of changing what it does.
That it was done to only 3 people is doubtful. If they'll cut a man penis 20 times then water boarding 300 people would be nothing to them.
A war based on a conspiracy and a lie has led to the inhuman degradation of people.
well
We in this country do not condone torture.
9-11 was a distraction for the 3 trillion missing at the pentagon.
Distractions abound, but we here in this country do not support torture, not should we support illegal occupations and wars in other countries.
As for your comment that the water boarding was done on persons that were not u s citizens, does that make it ok?
Sorry, torture is torture and this is being done to people never charged with a chime, never have had legal recourse. But hey, they have brown skin so if people in the u s want to hold them with no charges it is ok? no i don't think so.
This country has sunken to Hitler's level and maybe lower. Just let Obama keep going. He soon will have us all living as total slaves.

"This country has sunken to Hitler's level and maybe lower."
I hope that statement sinks in with those who try to minimize or justify what is going on.
this country HAS sunk to hitler's level...
that is the sad part...and, even as the majority of americans disagree with this new world policy of our "government", there is very little we can do about it...
