Erich "Mancow" Muller, a Chicago-based conservative radio host, recently decided to silence critics of waterboarding once and for all. He would undergo the procedure himself, and then he would be able to confidently convince others that it is not, in fact, torture.
Or so he thought. Instead, Muller came out convinced.
"It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke," Mancow said. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back... It was instantaneous... and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture."

Yes, it is torture---and we agreed we wouldn't do it.....
We did not HAVE to agree to the Geneva Conventions, but we DID. And so we, as a nation, have collectively gone back on our word.
Hurray for us, eh?
While I am sorely disappointed at "both sides" in our supposed "two-party system", I must say that it's quite instructive that I'm not hearing any of the "Conservative" mouthpieces saying, "Gee, you know, we really shouldn't have signed that treaty, because this water boarding is really useful."
Instead, they're saying "This water boarding is really useful." And they appear to have no conscience about the treaty.
That is just plain dishonorable. If we want to repeal the treaty, then let's repeal the treaty. (And I'm not saying we should!) And the same with the Constitution; if we want the government to have super powers, then we need to amend the Constitution to authorize that.
But until then, in both cases, we ought to have the honor to go with the Rule of Law.
There is no honor in this picture.

Mancow has had RP on his show...
...and been pretty respectful, as I recall. I used to listen to Mancow, but it was well over a dozen years ago. Has there been ANYONE that has had it done to them and said that it's NOT torture? I can't think of anyone.

to his execution. They even had trials---even if it's a show trial
it's better because then future generations can look back and
make judgements...and learn.
