i remember him turning on ron paul in favor of obama. i dont remember exactly what he said, but he basically flipped his view.

in the sense that he later got really cynical and said that he thought the Ron Paul campaign/"movement" had become a dead-end distraction for a lot of people (especially after the primaries). I've never heard him say anything about supporting Obama though, and that seems entirely inconsistent with everything else I've ever heard him say. So unless someone can find a quote of him saying that I will regard that as a baseless rumor.

I don't agree with the guy on everything, but I do agree with him on a lot of things. He's an intelligent individual and a really good rapper

i went to their concert recently in Bloomington, IN. and i promise they are no fan of the government. and nothing has changed now that Obama is the president. they made sure to make that clear.

as for Ice Cube. i have been a fan of his since he first burst onto the scene with NWA, but by the mid 90's it was clear that he lost his mojo. so if you are going to check out his work please do so prior to '95.

His music was meant to bring attention to a situation that was far far worse than some harsh language.

If you can look at it like that then maybe it's not so annoying.

I'm creole (black-cuban-irish) so I have sympathy for both sides :-)

The conversation sometimes never gets started unless someone is smacked in the face.

What hurt worse -- Watching good white people "allow" slavery to go on or to be a slave. To watch good white people "allow" the Black Codes to go on or to be a victim of them? Watch the 30-year Lynching Years or to be Lynched (or loved ones)? To Bus-Boycott or to watch it (allow it)? To allow Jim Crow or to have it applied? To live through welfarism (as a solution to the above) or to watch it? To allow CIA (by abdication of authority) to flood black communities with crack or to live in those communities?

See how the problems march up to the present day -- That's a lot of watching-allowing-abdicating isn't it.

Now - Do Ice Cubes words smack worse or less?

That's how I look at it.

I don't know that his music today has the same potency as they once did. I'm sure he still hates the police -- but he makes children's movies now, hahaha. That's not Gangsta ;-)

We have to also say that he is/was an opportunist -- not some Holy Philospher, haha.

the problem with ice cube is that he is somewhat awake but he has been that way for 20+ years without a lot of progress in certain areas. he still falls for the NWO divide and conquer strategy and the false black white left right paradigm.
