The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)
and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend annual influenza vaccination
for all children aged six months to 18 years.
The National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (3rd revision) also recommends
annual flu vaccination of asthmatic children older than six months.
An Off The Deep End Rant By Me !
By now a lot of you know me in many instances swimming against the current here at DP. I do so, not because it is necessarily right but I feel practical in the social, economic, political scheme of things.
This thread is a good example that jogs my subliminal thinking to the forefront why I accept vaccines and is it correct in thinking so ? There are two competing ideas here. The vocal majority here doesn't believe in vaccinations, and they are more right than wrong as nature goes. A healthy person with a good immune system can probably beat any influenza infection, but the flip side the un-healthy ones would not. As posted below by me, both my mother and I overcame the Spanish Flu and the Asian Flu respectively. Point being, survival of the fittest as nature has intended, the weaker die off and don't pass on inferior genes contaminating the gene pool.
Sigh, but that isn't the survival of the fittest society we live in today, is it ? We are not polluters anymore, we are the by-product of pollution, a genetically damaged gene pool - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the medicine we take; not even mentioning the medicine we take to counter-act the medicine we take.
Anyone not getting a vaccine IMO is closer to the way nature intended it to be, the survival of the fittest. I am not young anymore, but very robust compared to my 66 y/o counterparts, but I'd be a fool thinking my immune system was 14 y/o again.
I am like the most of you here on this matter, whether realized or not - survival of the fittest ! I refused to give my blessing to my daughters marriage as she wanted to marry someone with a congenital heart condition. You do know, when you tell your children they are making a mistake, they do it faster. His mothers brother (his uncle), and one of his brothers had the same congenital heart condition, both deceased prematurely. I have three beautiful grandchildren, and so far so good (fingers crossed).
You do not marry sick people, but this is a free country, not Hitler's Master Race (selective breeding).

I'm always first in line for flu shots, can't get enough of them. They thought my mother was dead (Milwaukee) during the Spanish Influenza and put her with the dead patients. I myself contracted the Asian flu in 1957 when I was a freshman in high school along with walking pneumonia... never hospitalized - to dumb and poor. I almost died, drowning in my own fluids.
These days
there's antibiotics available to treat walking pneumonia. I contracted a flu which turned into a walking pneumonia in 2007, so I took the antibiotics and recovered very quickly and 100% completely. I don't regret not getting the flu shot for a second. It probably wouldn't've prevented my flu, anyway.
I also keep current on my pneumonia inoculations too
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Sorry, I'm sold on inoculations. Do what you want.

I'm not against people getting the shots if they really believe in them. All I ask is you don't use the euphemisms and call them what they really are: vaccines, not immunizations and not inoculations.

Recipe for killing off independent-minded people
1. Create a disease that kills a lot of people but has a vaccine.
2. Release a weakened form that doesn't kill very many people.
3. Come up with a mandatory vaccination program, but don't be too rigorous about actually forcing people to take it. People who don't trust their government will not be inclined to take it.
4. Release the non-weakened form, and watch most of the independent-minded folks die. Bonus: You get to blame them for not being obedient and just trusting their government.

If you submit and become vaccine injured or die from the shot, you and your family have no recourse because neither the government nor the phamaceutical company that manufactured it can be sued.
