Hexane contamination of soy protein and soy products

Reveals the astonishing findings of hexane chemical contamination of soy products (soy protein, soy meal, soy used in food bars, etc.). Tested was conducted in conjunction with the Cornucopia Institute using FDA-approved laboratories. Full details on www.NaturalNews.com

I'm just saying y'all
I'm just saying y'all, mercury in the high fructose corn syrup, melamine
in pet food (and if I'm not mistaken I took some notes that particular chocolates had this contamination as well...kinda like "liquid plastic") ?...Um, they use lime to "chemically grind" corn to meal instead of stone milling.
All for the sake of $'s? Why would a company not just soak the soy in water?
I remember seeing an HBO special years and years ago that stated that decaffeinated coffee was actually worse for you than all the caffeinated coffee in the world because the process used to extract the caffeine is ultimately toxic. Hopefully by now, the process has been upgraded...sigh.
I also remember years ago that if you got a couple of rat turds or ant legs in your food, it was edible...but some of this other stuff does not sound so good ;)

they use hexane to extract the oil from the soybean seeds
oil and water don't mix, so they use an organic solvent to get the oil out.
soaking in water doesnt get the oil out.
can't say that I've ever intentionally eaten soy

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !
The highest level of hexane found was 21 ppm.
That amount of hexane is not a significant risk to health.
Allergies to soy protein are to its natural structure and composition and would not be modified by hexane.
Hexane is used to extract the oil from oilseeds. The hexane is used to wash out the oil, then the oil is heated to drive off the hexane, which is recaptured and reused. Some minute residue of hexane will be detectable in oil and in the oilseed meal from which the oil is extracted. Typically soy oil will contain 100 to 500 ppm (parts per million) of hexane, and as such, that level of hexane poses no harm to health.
Hexane is a six carbon alkane and is found along with its isomers in gasoline. Of course hexane is explosive. If if were not explosive you could not use it in your car.
Certainly hexane at high levels is toxic and is a hazard to workers who work in industries that use hexane. Workers must be protected from it.
Gee,
that sounds awful.

It sounds a lot worse that what it is.
21 ppm (parts per million) is not much hexane.
If one ate 50 grams of RAW soy protein concentrate, and it contained 20 ppm of hexane, then the amount of hexane exposure would be 1 milligram. If you cook the soy, it will be driven off by the cooking process.
If you consume a teaspoonful of soy oil with your salad, the exposure to hexane is 100 ppm x 5 ml =500 micrograms, which is still insignificant exposure to hexane.
We are exposed to lots of potentially toxic stuff through foods. Green vegetables of the cruciferous variety (broccoli, cabbage, mustard, kohlrabi, radishes, turnips) are loaded with toxic compounds but in small amounts those toxic compounds are actually good for you.
I am not saying that hexane is good for you. I dont think it is. But at 21 ppm we need to be focusing our attentions on something else.
Other health hazards of soy products
This is only one of the problems with soy, the health food that is to feed the world!

Thank you very much for that Augie. Excellent video.

Your welcome . . .
I would imagine the hexane in soy is insignificant as is the mercury in corn syrup. The high fructose corn syrup is more hazardous than the mercury in it. Soy products are very hazardous as shown by the video.

I'm alergic to soy -- maybe this is the reason?
