Ellen Brown: "But Governor, You CAN Create Money! Just Form Your Own Bank."

0 votes

"I understand that these cuts are very painful and they affect real lives. This is the harsh reality and the reality that we face. Sacramento is not Washington -- we cannot print our own money. We can only spend what we have."

- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger quoted in Time, May 22, 2009

Christmas comes early, Governor. You can print your own money. Fiscally solvent North Dakota is doing it...and so can California. Now!

In a May 22 article in Time titled "Billions in the Red: Fiscal Reckoning in CA," Juliet Williams reports that since California voters have now vetoed higher taxes and further state government borrowing, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has indicated that he intends to close the budget gap almost entirely through drastic spending cuts. The cutbacks could include laying off thousands of state workers and teachers, ending the state's main welfare program for the poor, eliminating health coverage for about 1.5 million poor children, halting cash grants for about 77,000 college students, slashing money for state parks, and releasing thousands of prisoners before their sentences are finished. Schwarzenegger bemoaned the fact that the state could not print its own money but said it could only spend what it had.

But the state can create its own money. After all, banks do this every day. Certified, card-carrying bankers are allowed to do something nobody else can do: they can create "credit" with accounting entries on their books. As the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas explains on its website:

Banks actually create money when they lend it. Here's how:

Andy Gause promotes this very Idea.

I'm not so sure about it... but it's better than what we have.

check out The Real World Of Money on www.oneradionetwork.com

there are a couple of shows discussing how it could work.

Just a quick question? Who do you think they're going...

to get to run the bank?

How will this be any different from a mini Federal Reserve System?

How is this better in any way shape or form?

Confusing credit and money was proven fraud in 1968!

It's true bankers can create "credit" with accounting entries on their books but that is not lending money. It is fraud to pretend it is lending money.

The above was proven on the 1968 testimony of testimony of Lawrence V. Morgan, President of the First National Bank of Montgomery. Here is one of many sites http://www.constitutionalconcepts.org/creditriver.htm describing the case.

End the fraud - report the Fed and its complicit media to an FBI office near you. For more details go here: http://www.nolanchart.com/article/print.php?ArticleID=5928

This is theatre and read on to learn the goal of this "show"

The eventual goal is to have everyone dependent on the federal government.

The pattern is easy to discern.

http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/us_20th_century_chart.html

Please avoid the daily show in the media...the poor teachers! The poor students! Give me a break....this has been the dance for time immemorial.

The goal is to gain control of ALL institutions through debt.

The auto industry is now dependent on the federal government because that is the goal. Most banks are also dependent. Most students are dependent on a government program of some sort....etc.

You do not need to be a government employee to be dependent.

Anyone in the military or the arms business are completely dependent.

Now we come to the states.

Why abolish the United States of America?

Why impose a military dictatorship? It would never work anyway.

If the goal is 100% dependence another "institution" that would best be brought under federal control through DEBT would be the state that you live in.

Once California "defaults" The federal government who, with their masters at the federal reserve can print all the effing money they want,

will bail out California.

Yay!

Now Obama is president and governor of California!

When California wants to get something done they will be under control of the folks who own the US government. (and you thought you were free)

36,000,000 new dependents! Mission accomplished. And you are next.

Arnold's old man was a Nazi and Bush's grandfather plead guilty to financing the Nazi's.....this is just like old home week!

The poor teachers...oh my!
They will let out all the prisoners...oh my!

You have to be kidding me.

Unify

Very True..

I live in a small town where we have volunteer fire departments...I hear the old men at the coffee shop complaining about all the federal regulations, classes, and training that is now weighing down the fire department. But it all started when they accepted federal "funding". You take a bite out of the sugary and lovable "gummy beast", it just makes you go back for more..and the whole time your blindly signing away the right to be yourself.

Totally misses the point

The author just doesn't get it. She thinks that a state bank creating credit is somehow more solvent than a private bank creating credit. It doesn't work like that, you cant create wealth out of thin air! There is no free lunch here, you have to put in hard work and time in order to become wealthy!

Rights are not "given" they are fundamental constants of the universe which prevent large populations of humans from being controlled by a small group of people. - http://jediborg2.blogspot.com

Just nuts

Hey, I know. Why don't we all just get our own printing press and start printing up our own money? That'll fix everything!!

Don't laugh, it depends on

Don't laugh, it depends on how its done. If a government prints it's own currency without interest you can revive a beleaguered economy. That's exactly how the Third Reich put people back to work in Germany.

Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.

I am hoping you left out the <sarcasm> tag

LewRockwell.com just had an article blowing the scheme you mention out of the water by Gary North, the so called 'debt' free greenback.

The main problem it still leaves the gunverment in monopoly control of the money, but this time Congress critters have their hands on the printing machine directly.

It still is a fiat money with no built in restraints and can be inflated also, and it still leaves the fractional reserve banking in place to be abused.

Unknown quote paraphrase:

Its not that power is abused , its that they have the power to abuse.

When has the government ever tightened its belt, not until total collapse is imminent.

It's a totally different

It's a totally different story now than it was in 1930's Germany. Sure it was still a fiat system but exchanging government notes for work and out of the hands of private banks seems to meet the needs of the time.

Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.

It sure is!

We live in a different country... annnnd its 79 years later... annnnd our leader's name starts with an O.

In all seriousness how can you contend that something Germany did in the 30s is a good idea? No really... please do tell.

Lmao

I agree.

They always threaten teachers and public safety

Also libraries, because these are popular. They threaten to reduce prison spending in order to get the prison unions on their side.

No politician will actually cut what people want; they'll cut what we don't care about, for the most part. Let all the marijuana users go home to somebody elses' couch.

The voters of California may save our economy, yet. I'm so proud we voted down Prop. 1A, even though it was probably the low voter turn-out that gave us the chance.

Brown is a statist

She wants the State to control money. Getting State control over money is a classic move by tyrants. It is always a step towards totalitarianism...
