"You always know where he stands after an interview"
Did you catch that at the end? The reporter seemed to appreciate Ron Pauls straightforward assessment, without all the typical "dancing around the issues."
Don't blame me -
I supported Ron Paul and only use lawful gold and silver dollars.
As smart as Dr. Paul is
I have always thought that he needs some coaching on public speaking. Myself, and most of us here, know he is very bright and love to hear him speak. I think the rest of the population misses the message because he seems to rant. I'm not explaining this well, but the point is that he isn't a polished speaker and that makes him look bad, people tune him out and dismiss him.
I just finished watching the high school speach
And I have to agree... he was NOT connecting with these kids. He was not answering questions frankly but going into rambles about how he did this and that and the camera panned the audience and you could see kids were falling asleep, not amused... and Ron was sweating like crazy.
I don't believe he convinced one kid to join the GOP either

Fantastic interview. Dr.
Fantastic interview. Dr. Paul is waking up more and more people everyday to the ideas of freedom and sound economic policy.
“Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.” -George Bernard Shaw
Like the last announcer said,
"You always know where he stands when you wrap up the interview!". Ron Paul remains crystal clear on the situation. Return to sound money, and get the government out of the boardrooms. All these economist are giddy over these "green shoots" they keep pointing to, like the consumer confidence level spike....get real. Who are these people talking to? Dig in for big inflation. This will keep the public on their heals, and usher in the next big international call for a UniBuck and control by "their" world council.

He Steps it up for CNN
Everytime he is on CNN American Morning he gives a great interview. He must be a morning person!
Not one of Dr.Paul's
better interviews, (IMO) but the man is human.
I'd like to see a 30 minute discussion on this topic w/ Paul & Roubini.
Its great to see Ron on CNN,
Its great to see Ron on CNN, but it always seems the hosts ask the oddest questions. Great lesson by Paul about the debt of this country and that you cannot spend your way into prosperity.

Ron Paul lobbying at Mass Statehouse
Ron Paul will be at the Mass statehouse today between 1:00 - 5:00pm.
He will also be there next week tue-thurs between 1:00-5:00.
He is taking time out of his busy schedule in congress to come up and help us fight S-18.
He will be signing autographs and taking pictures with his fans.
If you haven't yet met Ron Paul or gotten a picture with him, this is your big opportunity.
Bring your Ron Paul signs as we expect you to wave them high.
S-18 isn't really that bad, as it merely strips us of all our constitutional protections.
Really nothing to worry about.
I only go up there to lobby because I like hanging out with other Ron Paulers and have nothing better to do.

Boy oh Boy, I hope he runs again in 2012.
If you want to meet Ron Paul then please give me a call.

90% of economists are on crack or lying or stupid
Like RP says, nothing has changed. Hiring people to count all the people does not help the economy.

How does
the CAFR1 money play into this whole dynamic?
on the local level...
I have pulled apart our local CAFRs vs our budgets. When our government tells us we have a budget deficit we still have vast surpluses in short term investments. I found the surpluses to be %100 - %200 of the actuall budget numbers.
I find this really misleading. Also, if all of this money was pooled togather from all of the local and state governments someone would have enough money to pretty much control any market they wanted.
"90% of economists polled think recession will end this year".
These are the same 90% that said last year, there was no problem. And for the economists there is no problem, someone is stupid enough to keep paying them for their opinion, even though they are wrong most of the time, so of course they think everything is just wonderful.
Wish I had a link...
But I was reading a hard copy of a story.. the guy was an expert on ~experts~. What he has done over the years is take expert's predictions and match them up against the reality later.
He found, especially in the field of economics, that the more prominent the economist, the worse they were at predicting anything. In fact, pitted against UCLA students with general knowledge of the field, the students beat the economists.
The really sad part is that both groups were beaten by random outcome. So a monkey with a dart and a dartboard outperformed both groups.
Yep... listen to the experts...lol
~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~
Great point, Devon
I love the monkey comment! LOL. :)
i remember just a few months
i remember just a few months ago when 90% of the economists said that they had to immediately pass TARP otherwise the entire country would instantly be in a horrible depression.
i've grown a bit weary over the past year or so about what 90% of economists think.
"The people are outraged..."
Congressman Paul, what people are outraged? God, he gives too many people too much credit for having a brain in their head. Didn't we all just see 60+ million people vote for the fraud from Chicago?
Most people just spend their whole lives just whistling past the graveyard. Now is no different.
He missed her main point...
Did you catch it?
In her opening remarks, newsbabe Kiran Chetry mentioned that leading economists predict the end of the recession by the end of this year, then brought it up again midway through.
Dr. Paul missed it. I don't think he actually heard it; there appeared to have been audio troubles on his end. Who knows, that might have been part of the plan by the agendists at CNN.
The MSM is determined to prove this guy is a wacko and, having been thus far unsuccessful, are back at it with this interview. On this page, we all know Dr. Paul is right on the money and speaks the truth, and the truth is our friend, so I don't think the end game is one where they win. But they can sure sting us on the way down!
The reality is that the so-called "leading economists" failed to the see the crisis coming, have continually proposed policies that continue the problem, and have been proven time and again to be the guys we should NOT BE LISTENING TO NOW!
I know Dr. Paul knows this, and I know it's difficult in this context to get your main point across, but these MSM "journalists" are expert bushwhackers. The implication -- broadcast loud and clear -- is that, since Dr. Paul doesn't agree with all the "leading economists", he is, obviously, a wacko.
End of interview.
How exactly does them saying
"90% of economist expect the recession to end this year." 2 times translate into trying to make Dr. Paul look wacko?
That is a non-sequitor. A complete logical fallacy.
Remember Paranoia is a SKILL.
And you make it look EASY...
Yo, Nummy!
Do you think they were trying to get a fair hearing of his views?
VERY GOOD POINTS
I agree with you, and I am far from being paranoid about MSM agenda after the 04 campaign.

After witnessing...
...the '04 campaign, how can you NOT think there is behind-the-scenes skulduggery rampant in US politics?
HELLO? ANYBODY HOME??
No offense, but it's you that sounds "whacko" here.
Your post is very paranoid. I see no reason to believe that she was trying to make him out as a whacko. She was just giving him the opportunity to weigh in on it. Dr. Paul is now known for being a pretty good economic forecaster, so it makes sense to bring him on to comment on the forecasts of other economists.
Hmmmm....
I see subtlety is certainly lost on you!
...one might oughta be careful about epithets thrown at those he does not know...
Your assertion that "...Dr. Paul is now known for being a pretty good economic forecaster..." is laughable and without basis in fact.
If you think MSM airs him because they agree with him, or because they think he's right, or that his past track record indicates a high probability of future accuracy, you are naive or worse.
These folks don't like Ron Paul, and they hate his ideas, mainly because his views threaten the very foundation of their power, a system that rewards them VERY handsomely. (And is, by it's nature, immoral!)
Dr. Paul is a contrarian and a spectacle to these folks and they just love parading your lunatic uncle around whenever they can; doubly so if they can demolish a presidential candidate with whom the powers that be vehemently disagree!
Do you still think the MSM is staffed by civic-minded individuals with your best interest at heart?
So lighten up, guy, I'm just trying to illustrate MSM discrediting tools.
And by the way; Just 'cause I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get me!
laughable and without basis in fact?
"Your assertion that "...Dr. Paul is now known for being a pretty good economic forecaster..." is laughable and without basis in fact."
you MUST be new here.

`Wise people, even though all laws were abolished, would still lead the same life'- Aristophanes -
“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul
If you think the clique
...here at DP is equivalent to wide notoriety, we're doomed.
Maybe you should get out more often and talk to real people, instead of your mom and your sister!
Yeah, I agree
I didn't get the sense that she was trying to paint him as anything, frankly. All the comments here re the economists, though, are very well taken. That would have been a great opportunity for the good doctor to knock that one out of the park by asking, "Do you know if the majority of the 90% are the same ones that last year said everything was fine?" That would have been lovely. :):)
She said nothing...
about "majority of the 90%" (sic)...re-listen.
She invoked the shameless "leading economists say".
This is proof of her intentions!
