Vote Fraud not getting enough attention.

Vote fraud has been around since the 1980s (maybe before that). First I heard of it was when Janet Reno got "voted in" in Dade County, Florida. The League of Women Voters got caught red-handed.

There was a big to-do back in Ames, Iowa, during the first straw poll. Lots of challenges on the voting machines which, it turned out, were flawed. So your position is well taken.

While this forum is really about helping Ron Paul's campaign, this is an important issue. Because, even if RP does well, a tampered machine will throw the election to whomever the "manipulators" wish.

However, the voting machines are but the tip of a very corrupt iceberg. The entire system is pretty much rotten from the top (Bush, Cheney) down, and the media are complicit.

Spreading awareness is a good thing; insisting on paper ballots is a possibility, but - at the end of the day - it does not look hopeful.

www.votefraud.org is a good site. The guy who runs it means well, but he's so overwhelmed with conspiracy stuff (which may turn out to be true) that he annoys people with his dog-like insistence. He really ticked off the republicans in Ames!

Wish there were an easy answer to this problem, but there isn't one.

Well, just like it was us that goaded Ron into running and it is us that has propelled him to where he is it will have to be us that secures a true vote.
We must create our own paper trail. I see no other way to guarantee a fair and honest vote this time around.
We must gather notaries and some of us must become notaries.
These notaries must set up at or near each voting station with pre printed affidavits attesting that each signer voted for Ron.
These affidavits can be gathered at the local meetup group headquarters, counted and compared to the “official” count.
This will either insure a nonfixed vote or at least give us proof of a fix.
To do nothing or to do a half assed effort to asses the vote count is to waste our efforts and hand over America and ourselves to one of two people that history has proven over and over again are evil.

This issue should be front and center from now until election day, and it absolutely baffles me that it is not. Here is how my state (Maryland) attempts to allay the concerns of those that question the integrity of the voting system (Diebold)...

Q: Does the new voting system have a paper trail?

A: Yes. Each voting unit prints a report before the polls open confirming that there are no votes on the voting unit. After the polls close, another report is printed showing the results from that voting unit. Additionally, in case of a recount, ballot images can be printed from the election database. These ballot images can be manually recounted without being attributable to any particular voter.

The voting system does not, however, provide a voter-verified paper trail. There are currently no federal standards for connecting printers to the DRE voting units.(emphasis mine) These standards must be developed and printers tested and certified before they can be installed on the voting units and used in an election. In the absence of standards and therefore printers to generate a voter-verified paper trail, Maryland is monitoring developing technology that will provide similar confirmation without paper.

If there is no voter-verified paper trail, then there is absolutely no way to verify the vote was conducted fairly. If there is no way to verify the vote, then - and I cannot emphasize this enough - it is GUARANTEED that fraud will occur!! I'm not saying that fraud MIGHT occur, I am saying that it absolutely WILL occur. We have all seen what those in power will do even when it is likely they will be caught. How in heaven's name can anyone here believe that these same people will not cheat when there is NO WAY TO CATCH THEM??!!

Wake up people. This issue absolutely must become a huge priority. We have come too far and worked too hard to allow everything to be lost because we trusted these guys not to cheat when there would be no way to prove that they did!

Y'know, a place with the poll-workers rules and regs and maybe PDFs of forms etc etc,

Not to mention delegate info etc.

One more idea. You could apply to be a Poll Worker and/or Vote/Ballot Count Watcher. I just called for an application.
