The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at Wake Forest University hosted Ron Paul and BJ Lawson on campus on April 20, 2009.
Not only were the students able to successfully draw a crowd of over 1,200 (as reported by the University), but they also drew a crowd larger than Vice President Biden was able to attract during his recent visit to Wake Forest.
Now there is a poll to decide the Campus Activism Award.

A Tom Tancredo event is beating the YAL and Ron Paul in this poll 2 to 1.
The Youth for Western Civilization (YWC) chapter at UNC Chapel Hill brought Tom Tancredo to speak on campus on April 14, 2009.
The event started off as any other Tancredo event...with protesters screaming "racism." The use of pepper spray and the threat of tasers didn't deter protesters from using violence to shut down the event. Tancredo's speech was canceled just minutes after it began when a protester threw a brick through a window of the lecture hall.

There is a real prize at the end of this poll.
"Monthly winners will receive $500 worth of conservative books, tapes, and DVDs for use by your group. In addition, winning groups will receive a choice of free training opportunities: You may host a Youth Leadership School on your campus or receive $1,000 worth of scholarships for members of your club to attend the training of your choice at LI's headquarters in Arlington, VA.
At the end of the fall and spring semester, all previous monthly winners will face off for cash awards.
Website visitors will once again determine the outcome of the contest with a vote for their favorite activity. Awards will be given to each semester's top three finishers with $2,000 awarded to the first place winner, $1,000 to second place, and $500 to third."

The protesters incited the violence, not Tancredo.
I think it took more "guts" to invite Tancredo over Ron Paul who is more popular. They sure got more "activism". ;-)

He did not himself incite the violence, it was his presence that was the inciting factor.
The protesters were the better activists that day. Not that I am condoning the brick through the window, or their actions. But they were better organized than the hosts and they achieved their objectives. The hosts did not.
When you look at the two events, the YAL event was by far the better event from the perspective of the planners and hosts.
They deserve our votes.

I think the hosts achieved their objective by exposing the protesters as more intolerant than Tancredo.
