teaparty graph is downward concave

Fewer and fewer new people are signing up each day.

Any suggestions about how to get the daily sign ups moving up?

Right now we're at about $2.1 million pledged. Of course in the November 5 money bomb we got over twice the amount pledged, but I'd feel a lot better if we had a definate commitment for over $3 million.

No cause to worry

I know at least five friends and family that are donating on Dec 16th ($100 minimum) that did not donate on Nov 5th. These are also people who don't want to give out their email addresses for fear of spam or follow-up emails, but "giving is giving" so let them do it as they please as far as I'm concerned.

Point being, the sign-ups on TeaParty07.com are not at all indicative of those who are actually giving on the 16th. The key is "recruit new givers!"

Echos of history..

Before November 5th, people here we flipping out because our numbers daily weren't looking very good. I will say then what I said then:

DO NOT WORRY!!! We are in no danger at all of losing momentum! We are less than 24 hours away from the debate, during which Paul will bring up the tea party. We will see another surge for the days after that. I do not expect we will see 50,000 signups, but I have a strong suspicion we will see a 3-6 million dollar day on December 16th, while the other candidates and the media once again watch in awe.

Remember: We are far ahead of the money we thought we'd have at the end of November, by over 2 million at this point. We need less than 3 million to meet the goal that Paul put forward for us, and we will, once again, meet his request, and then some. December 16th, even if we "only" raised 2.5 million dollars, will put us well over the number he asked us for. This ride is only going to get better come New Hampshire. For now it's hard work, and our duty to get out there and talk to people.

The massive myspace

The massive myspace messaging of Ron's supporters just started.

It's a combination of a couple factors...

First - with the thanksgiving holiday, many people haven't been able to really keep up with what's going on with teaparty07. Between traveling, being away from home, dealing with holiday plans, etc., there has certainly been some "down time" from the level of involvement in the campaign and the teaparty07 efforts. I do predict this will begin to pick up again, slowly in the coming week, and then more rapidly after the 30th.

Second - I have seen a lot of misinformation concerning the teaparty07 effort. After the original campaign email asking for donations now, rather than later, there has been some real confusion about whether the teaparty event is even still taking place. I think this also has contributed to the extremely slow pledge recruitment we have seen over the past week or so.

At this point I think it's very important for us to unify on this fundraising issue. Here's the solution:

1) It is important for us to raise money as soon as possible for the campaign to use to run ads in the early primary states. RudysReadingList.com is the next step in achieving this. I think right now we should take the next couple days to promote the hell out of this event - post online everywhere you can think: youtube video comments, online article comments, blogs, forums; send e-mails, call friends & relatives, etc... - anyway we can come up with to spread the word.

Achieveing the $12 mil mark on the 30th would be great. Even if we don't make that, I'm confident it will still bring in quite a chunk of money for the campaign to spend on the advertising they need to purchase now.

2) After the 30th we should kick it into a new gear and start promoting the Dec 16th teaparty07.com fundraiser. This should be the main focus for those 2 weeks leading up to the event. Yes - there will be more people who donate than just those who have signed up to pledge, just like last time. But I think it's very important to not just rely on this. The effort to spread the word about teaparty07 and the Dec 16th date needs to be even greater than that of Nov 5th.

We saw how much media coverage Dr. Paul recieved after Nov 5th. If we blow that fundraising record out of the water with the teaparty, we will get even more coverage - and at an extremely crucial time. We'll have a ton of money in the bank to dump into these states, coupled with a ton of free media coverage from the teaparty. I genuinely think that these two factors will catapult us into the lead for the primaries.

Let's not lose focus on the main goal - to get Dr. Paul elected, whatever it takes. If that means money as soon as possible, let's to our best to make that happen. But let's also not lose focus on how much success this campaign has achieved through the innovative ideas of the individuals working hard to spread the message. The impact we can make through both the Nov 30th RudysReadingList.com effort and the Dec 16th TeaParty07.com effort can achieve a two-fold goal: raise lots of money ASAP, and spread the message about Dr. Paul to as many as possible.

Let's do it.

don't worry. After the You

don't worry. After the You Tube debate, more people will see him for the first time and would want to donate. Don't pay too much attention to the pledges. Most people are just going to donate without pledging. We will make history.

I find comfort

It is a good thing that the teaparties downward trend isn't connected to Ron Paul Winning!!!!!!!!! And me still donating while I sign up somewhere else!!!!

This topic came up earlier...

We are misrepresented in the "polls" and we are misrepresented in the graph. Simple as....

1) Giving will be contagious.

2) Many don't want to commit out of principle, that is kind of the nature of a lot of the people in this movement. Some may consider it conformity or being a lemming. No offense to those that have signed up!

Have no fear! If you believe in the message and spread it, people will give. It will be a success!

thers so many different sites asking for email addresses

I don't trust all these didferent sites asking for email address they may just use it as a way to send out spam and other crap and to delute the numbers

How to get the daily sign up moving up faster

Everyone who is in a Ron Paul meetup group needs to sign up one person this coming week. This doubling of membership will translate into dollars. Those who manage a Ron Paul Meetup group need to send out an email to every single member asking that they say yes or no to the donation drive culminating on the Boston Tea Party day of December 16th. Many have donated early since the campaign has need of funds now so we need to know that too so as not to burden early donators.
How about an official Ron Paul campaign song with original lyrics and music that is a top shelf production. One with lyrics that will inspire us all to join the cause of freedom!

I know many giving on the 16th, but...

they're not signed up. I'd say I know about 4-5 people that are donating, but just don't participate on the web like we all do. We should all realize that there are a lot of Ron Paul supporters that are actually not on the web and connected like us.

The one email per day might

The one email per day might be turning many people off. Any chance that they can opt out of the mailing list?

People just don't want to

People just don't want to sign up or give out there email. Its as simple as that.

Don't think nothing of it.

Expect a huge push after the 30th

I personally know of 8 people donating on the 16th who aren't on the list. (5 of whom donated on the 5th and 3 new converts.)

Its the new donors that help us the most. Talk to people every chance you get!

I'm starting to think Lyman is right

If we reach the campaign's $12 million mark this Friday, we will attract many more to the cause just from publicity and the "steamroller effect". When there's momentum, people see the cause as worthy of their support.

Trevor Lyman's evidence to support this move is here:

I'm going to see if I can talk my wife into donating on the 30th of this month. It will result in a much-needed burst now, and a great teaparty too!

Let's make a bigger pie instead of trying to reapportion the slices.

Absolutely Right!

This is a BIG HUGE SNOWBALL! The 30th will just add fuel to the Fire for the 16th! Hitting $12 million a month early will have everybody just stoked to blast the 16th off the charts! All the new people kind of watching cautiously will be reassured that RP is the Real Deal--not a one-hit-wonder! And I guarantee you that the msm can add November 5th's $4.2 mil with November 30th and December 16th's totals! I've already seen comments about the 30th being a really short notice event, so expectations aren't quite as high as for the Big days!

Absolutely 100% on the mark, correct

One problem is...

One problem is the "inflation tax" only appeals to a very narrow market segment. The "inflation tax" is just not that inspiring to the average person. That site is only attracting the hardcore Paul supporters or "nerds" interested in monetary policy. That's why I created www.TeaPartyMoneyBomb.com . I think it's more marketable to a wider audience. So start sending people there and see if it picks up. The pledges given there go to the same list at TeaParty07, so it shows in that total. I think the sole focus being on the "inflation tax" actually turns some people away. That's just not an exciting thing.

The inflation tax

is explained right in the link on the teaparty07 website. All you do is click on the link, and read what Ron Paul has said about it.

I think it is brilliant to have included it, and it DOES NOT just appeal to geeks, but the average ordinary person who begins to grasp how they are absolutely SCREWED to the wall by the inflation tax is a lot more motivated to do something about it -- vote for Ron Paul.

I explain inflation to people virtually every single day, and they are always amazed at how and why they have no purchasing power for how hard they work.

If people don't learn why we are about to enter a depression, they will run to government for the fix when disaster hits. They need to know that it is government and the federal reserve bank that have caused the problem in the first place.

Exactly

Exactly.

Convert more people!

Call all your old friends in other states! Talk to everyone you buy anything from. Small business people are very anti-IRS, and now Ron is showing up on national polls its an easy sell. Everyone I talked with wanted 1. Stop Illegal Immigration 2. Stop the KGB...i mean IRS 3. Fix our economy. Also, try canvasing older neighborhoods. Older people are good judges of character, and sometimes it means something for someone to show up at their door and say hi. When you do this use the slimjim with Ronald Regan. You would be suprised how many older people have the internet just for email but you can help them find Ron Paul's site and seniorsforpaul.com . Also, alot of them are afraid of using the internet to do financial transcations...let them know they can call it in. Offer to pick those people up and help them get to the polls.

Older people are the biggest voting block

The largest lobby is the AARP the older people need to be convinced there hard they get scared by other politicians threatening them with taking away there Social Security
