Senator Casey's response to HR1207
Dear Mr. XXXXX:
Thank you for taking time to contact me with your thoughts on H.R. 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. I appreciate hearing from you.
The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 was introduced by Representative Ron Paul of Texas. This bill would establish an audit of the Federal Reserve by the Comptroller General to provide greater transparency on its activities. The Comptroller General would report the findings to Congress and present legislative recommendations as appropriate.
Currently, the bill is in committee in the House of Representatives and there is no comparable legislation in the Senate. A different bill of the same name was introduced in the Senate by Senator Sanders. Should similar legislation to the House bill be introduced in the Senate, I will keep your thoughts in mind.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.
If you have access to the Internet, I encourage you to visit my web site, http://casey.senate.gov. I invite you to use this online office as a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.
Sincerely,
Bob Casey
United States Senator

HR 1207 and S 604
The senate verison of HR 1207 is S 604 sponsered by Bernie Sanders. Its the same bill. Bob Casey doesn't know what he is talking about.
WE need more senate presure
It's so funny how the dems quickly shedded their skins and became the neocons. It happened so fast and right in front of all our faces.
We need to turn up the heat on Carney
I'm in his area and it is overwhelmingly Republican. The only reason he was elected in the first place was due to Sherwoods philandering. As far as Casey is concerned, he's a wannabe neocon who is preoccupied with filling his daddies shoes, don't hold your breathe for him ever coming near this legislation.
If not us than who?
When Carney
voted no on TARP, I actually had hope and called and thanked him. However his lack of support for HR1207 and his silence on HR865 are really making me angry. I'm pondering a letter to the Wmspt. Gazette slamming him and urging people to call him about these bills. You know and I know they don't even know what they are. Believe me Carney knows who I am. Your right about sherwood and I wasn't a big fan of musik either.
Bascially the same
from Rep. Carney. Only he used alot of double speak, Never did answer the question. I too, received the same reply as you did from Sen. Casey.
I got the same
response from Casey, I think verbatim...

IOWs
Casey won't vote for it because Ron paul is a Republican..
He's saying Bernies Senate bill is NOT the house version.... so does this mean that Bernie and Kucinich have teamed up against Ron Paul?
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
