"Cooked Food is Actually Toxic to Humans"

0 votes

Wanna know why the world has so many problems right now?
It's rather simple really; it can be summed up in five words.
"We are what we eat."

Eighty million species on earth (about 700,000 of which are animals) thrive on raw food. Only humans apply heat to what they eat. Humans on average as a race, die at or below half their potential life span of chronic illness that is largely diet and lifestyle related. Domesticated pets also are fed cooked, processed, packaged food that likewise is denatured by heat. As a consequence, they suffer human-like chronic ailments including cancer, arthritis and other degenerative diseases.

The typical species in its natural pristine environment lives seven times past its age of maturity. Humans normally mature in their late teens to early twenties. Our average potential life span in robust wellness is actually in the range of 120-140 years. This is never actualized due to the effects of heating food and not learning to skillfully handle psychological stress through self-mastery (see Essentials of Health). Humans have been on earth for millions of years. Prior to mastering fire perhaps less than 10,000 years ago, humans thrived on a diet of nothing but fresh, live, unfired foods as furnished by nature in their whole unadulterated state.

Presently, humans apply heat to the bulk of their food day in and day out prior to consumption. Like eating ash from the fireplace, microscopic burnt nutrients are toxic. Slowly and silently as the decades pass, the harmful effects of consuming these toxins accumulate. Humans are biologically adapted to raw fresh produce (see: Biological Adaptations: Diet is Species Specific). Eating raw fresh produce as a staple rather than cooked food keeps your body vibrantly healthy at nearly any age.

The food's life force is greatly depleted or destroyed when it is cooked. The bioelectrical energy field is altered and greatly depleted, as is graphically demonstrated with kirlian photography:

maybe for veggies

but hamburger!!!!!!!! go ahead and eat raw meat, lets see ya make it to 140!

also, there is no proof as to when man mastered fire or what his diet was prior to this, or for that matter, that he has been around for millions of years. sorry, it just sounds like you have firsthand knowledge like you were there or read their diaries or something. i cant swallow stories w/o evidence.

I Don't know.

Our stomachs are not too sophisticated enough to eat a totally Raw diet.

Have you ever read the studies of Weston A. Price? Raw seed and nuts are not necessarily the best for you and your digestion. They have enzymne inhibators that if eaten in quantity will wreck your system.

Sally Fallon of the Weston Price Foundation has a good book on the subject called Nurishing Traditions.

Dr. Melvin Page was another one.

I think that humans prior to electricity relied on Pro-biotics or fermentation techniques for food longetivity. The thing that we lose in the modern diet is the digestive properties that come along with fermented foods.

Weston Price studied the teeth/bone structure of the indigeonous populations that lived off of the traditional diets versus their counterparts that converted to a modern diet.

I love cooked food

So I can never give it up all the way.

But I have been significantly cutting back on my cooked food consumption over the past couple of months. I have been eating more raw fruits, vegetables, salads, juices, nuts, seeds and uncooked grains. A warning should be issued that doing this will mess with your digestive system for a bit as you get away from the processed and cooked stuff and move towards raw stuff with a lot more fiber. After a while, you will feel a lot better though. Think of it like starting a work out program. When you start out, you get very sore, but it is good for you and after a while you no longer get sore and are in better shape.

But, again, I can never give up cooked food all the way, everything in moderation.

I read that

microwaving your food is the worst thing you could ever do to it. Trade in your microwave for a toaster, convection oven. I'm getting ready to do that. I agree that cooking our food changes the composition and then shoving it down in ten minutes, barely breathing, further adds to the problem.

I got rid of my microwave about a year ago

I have not missed it one bit.

You can bake or pan fry (with healthy oils) everything you can microwave, in barely more time. The microwave is NOT needed. It was a good marketing gimmick. But it will hurt your health.

Oh yes

Microwaves are antithetical to life. Please, try this experiment at home: get two plant pots, put the same seeds in the same soil in both, water one with ordinary tap water, and the other with the same tap water microwaved first. It doesn't matter how long or at what setting you choose and it doesn't have to get hot or even warm first.

The unmicrowaved water seeds will sprout, and the microwaved water seeds won't.

Perhaps Just Take Her Word For It

No need to kill the seed

Microwaves are Perhaps the Most Dangerous Cooking Device

There have been very few studies done to determine what kinds of changes occur in foods that are microwaved, but rest assured the changes are significant.

Consider the 1991 lawsuit involving a woman who had hip surgery and died because the blood used in her blood transfusion was warmed in a microwave. Blood is routinely warmed before transfusions, but not by microwave. The microwave altered the blood and it killed the woman.

A study published in the November 2003 issue of The Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture found that broccoli "zapped" in the microwave with a little water lost up to 97 percent of the beneficial antioxidant chemicals it contains. By comparison, steamed broccoli lost 11 percent or fewer of its antioxidants.

Besides the loss of nutrients, microwaving forms new compounds (radiolytic compounds) that are unknown to humans and nature. It‘s not yet known exactly what these compounds do in the human body. It will likely be a difficult thing to sort out, especially when there are previously unknown compounds being introduced to humans from a variety of sources such as new food products (i.e., olestra) and genetically modified foods.

Perhaps the most concrete evidence of the dangers of microwaves comes from Dr. Hans Hertel, a Swiss food scientist, who carried out a small but high-quality study on the effects of microwaved food on humans. His conclusions were clear and alarming: microwave cooking significantly altered the food‘s nutrients enough so that changes occurred in the particpants‘ blood--changes that suggested deterioration. The changes included:

* Increased cholesterol levels
* More leukocytes, or white blood cells, which can suggest poisoning
* Decreased numbers of red blood cells
* Production of radiolytic compounds (compounds unknown in nature)
* Decreased hemoglobin levels, which could indicate anemic tendencies

Very interesting....

I just had a talk with a relative of mine this week about hemoglobin issues, she stated she had reproductive problems related to it, and I know I have some as well. Of course the docs have other explanations for it..they only learn what their controlled schools teach them of course...but i think this deserves some serious consideration especially since i have young children. No more microwaves for me, i guess that now includes fast food, that's all they use.

Concerning the History of Cooking

There is, as yet, no clear evidence as to when cooking was invented. Richard Wrangham argues that cooking was invented as far back as 1.8 million to 2.3 million years ago.

Other researchers believe that cooking was invented as late as 40,000 or 10,000 years ago. Evidence of fire is inconclusive as wildfires started by lightning-strikes are still common in East Africa and other wild areas, and it is difficult to determine as to when fire was used for cooking, as opposed to just being used for warmth or for keeping predators away.

Most anthropologists contend that cooking fires began in earnest barely 250,000 years ago, when ancient hearths, earth ovens, burnt animal bones, and flint appear across Europe and the middle East. Back 2 million years ago, the only sign of fire is burnt earth with human remains, which most anthropologists consider coincidence rather than evidence of intentional fire.

Cooked Food = Digestive Leukocytosis (White Blood Cell Increase)

In 1930, research was conducted at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry in Lausanne, Switzerland, under the direction of Dr. Paul Kouchakoff. The effect of food (cooked/processed vs. raw/natural) on the immune system was tested and documented.

Dr. Kouchakoff's discovery concerned the leukocytes, the white blood cells.

It was found that after a person eats cooked food, his/her blood responds immediately by increasing the number of white blood cells. This is a well-known phenomena called "digestive leukocytosis", which means that there is a rise in the number of leukocytes, or white blood cells, after eating.

Since digestive leukocytosis was always observed after eating, it was considered to be a normal physiological response to eating. No one knew why the number of white cells would rise after eating, since this appeared to be a stress response, as if the body was reacting to something harmful, such as infection, trauma, or exposure to toxic chemicals.

Back in 1930, Swiss researchers of the institute of Chemical Chemistry studied the influence of food on human blood and made a remarkable discovery. They found that eating unaltered, raw food or food heated at low temperatures did not cause a reaction in the blood. In addition, if a food had been heated beyond a certain temperature (unique to each food), or if the food was processed (refined, added chemicals, etc.), this always caused a rise in the number of white cells in the blood.

The researchers renamed this reaction "pathological leukocytosis", since the body was reacting to highly altered food. They tested many different kinds of foods and found that if the foods were not overheated or refined, they caused no reaction. The body saw them as "friendly foods". However, these same foods, if heated at too high a temperature, caused a negative reaction in the blood, a reaction that is found only when the body is invaded by a dangerous pathogen or trauma.

The worst offenders of all, whether heated or not, were processed foods that had been refined (such as white flour or white rice), or homogenized (a process in which the fat in milk is subjected to artificial suspension), or pasteurized (also seen in milk, flash-heated to high temperatures to kill bacteria), or preserved (chemicals added to food to retard spoilage or to enhance taste or texture). In other words, foods that were changed from their original God-given state.

What do you eat to feel full???

I have had days where I eat a lot of fruit, but then I have times where I get extremely hungry. What's your daily menu like? And when you crave protein what do you eat?

I eat Superfoods to feel full, especially Cacao (raw chocolate)

Cacao (unheated, unprocessed, raw chocolate) in nibs or powdered form is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Seriously, God knew what he was doing when he invented this little marvel. Once you heat it, however, you kill most all of its health giving properties, and you also create trans fats, which are bad.

There is a saying of not to eat your sweets before your meal because you'll lose your appetite, I think this is subtly in reference to chocolate, and I have experienced appetite loss from eating the cacao.

The feeling of fullness comes from actually being nourished by nutrients and minerals, to me this explains why many people overeat lots of cooked food or eat 3 meals a day along with processed snacks. Those foods are not actually nourishing their bodies so they start feeling hungry alot, not to mention the stress they are probably experiencing from various factors that cause them to seek self-medication through food.

Superfoods are relatively new in the mainstream, they are raw, organic, unprocessed, and unheated, examples are cacao, goji berries, marine phytoplankton, blue-green algae, and others. These foods are radically amazing and contain virtually every nutrient the body needs all in one bite. Its like God's perfect solution to the food and obesity crisis we face today. Who would have thought that you could eat chocolate (the real chocolate) and actually lose weight and be nourished beyond your wildest dreams! see: David Wolfe: "Naked Chocolate: The Astonishing Truth about the World's Greatest Food."

There is a rawfoods restaurant here in my city that uses Superfoods from www.americansuperfoods.com and I go there to eat sometimes. My first time there I ordered a pizza no bigger than my hand, I was worried that it wouldn't be enough. I could not even finish it!!! Another time I had their raw cacao cheesecake and nearly had an orgasm. Since then I have been ordering stuff from that site.

lmao

I was camping for years in Italy...Switzerland

eating only raw veggies and fruits drinking local organic wine every day and walking at least 10 miles a day(alcohol gets transformed into fuel-healthy energy)....

eat raw onions carrots tomatoes(European organic) and garlic + grapes & wine and you are able to live up to 120 years old(no wheelchair....)

food fads, health, and other nuttiness

My goodness!! Cooked food may be bad for you because the cooking produces carcinogens. Raw food is bad because cooking removes harmful pathogens even while it destroys vitamins and enzymes. Sunlight is dangerous because too much might produce melanoma. Lack of adaquate sunlight, on the other hand, produces vitamin D deficiency and bone disorders. Tap water has heavy metals, carcinogens, and pathogens in it, bottled water is not much better and has dangers of its own, but if you don't drink at all, you die of thirst!

Isn't it amazing that we have survived at all, with all of these hazards to life and limb? Now we don't even talk about global warming, ozone depletion, raninforest depletion, the coming ice age, comet and asteroid impacts, and so on...

There are also the Biblical stories of the apocalypse.

Eventually Some Fads Become the Norm

Here's some food for thought. A rhetorical question, if you will...

Have you considered that cooking food, microwaving food, eating fast food, eating at all sorts of restaurants, drinking beer, buying tv dinners, smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee, were all once fads?

These fads are now the norm. They are supported by massive marketing and advertising dollars from mega-corps who have all sorts of interesting bedfellows and lobbying interests. The lies they have fed us have been repeated so often that you think these things are normal. Don't you think someone stands to gain from having you willfully poison yourself all day long so that all you think about is the job you hate, getting temporary gratification through sex, and eating yet another non-nutritious toxic meal so that one day when you are old and sick you can pay their bedfellow hospitals massive dollars while they pretend to find a cure for the diseases they invented? Sadly, this is the plight of most Americans.

Dismissing the subject of this thread by calling it a fad seems to me more like an act of willful ignorance, IMHO, and carries little weight if any at all, in this debate.

Exactly when

was cooking food just a fad? And while I'm at it, when was drinking coffee or beer just a fad?

Ever Heard of Starbucks?

The point I'm making is things have an origin somewhere in time. They begin in small circles and when that circle starts to expand and become massively popular enough they are seen as normal.

Some fads or trends eventually become normal, some fads don't last. However, to argue that eating raw food is merely a fad is preposterous because all food is raw. God didn't give us stoves and frying pans and microwaves, he gave us the ideas and we invented them but inventions and technology come with their own set of consequences and benefits.

We are facing many nutritional problems in this country such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and many other preventable illnesses. It has been scientifically proven that these diseases can in many cases be prevented by eating an all rawfood diet. See: Dr. Gabriel Cousens: "There is a Cure for Diabetes."

Most Americans don't eat any raw food at all. Most of them don't even cook their own meals, they don't put any love into their food, and they will pay the price and/or their future kids and grandkids will pay the price.

Sadly, even an all rawfood diet will not provide you with the optimum nutrition one needs to lead a healthy disease free life because they are only as good as the soil you grow them in, (having your own garden with organic soil and using seaweed products in the garden are good things to be doing to get the most out of your rawfood, IMA).

To me there is no dichotomy when it comes to eating, but there is a continuum of bad, worse, worst, good, better, best. Superfoods are on the top of my best category with rawfoods being right underneath, cooking would be less best than these with the exception of some foods which are heat soluble like medicinal mushrooms (reishi, cordyceps, chaga). Cooking a raw vegetable like cabbage, broccoli, or kale is a step below that especially because it has the potential to cause digestive leukocytosis.

I'm not saying stop eating cooked food forever because I believe in an interdisciplinary approach to solving this problem and many people are very used to eating cooked foods, however, ideally speaking it would be good if everyone ate only raw, IMHO, except the heat soluble items.

Chewing a piece of raw broccoli 30-100 times makes it easy to digest, let's not forget that chewing is itself a part of digestion. Or chew a raw turnip, or some raw kale. Eat some raw kale and chew it up enough, you will see how much greens you're getting, your whole tongue will be green, but then steam or blanch it, and you get very little green, you still get something, but not as much as you would have got if you ate it raw and chewed it up.

My position is that rawfoods/superfoods are the best foods ever and that most all cooked foods are less than best. Eat the cooked stuff from time to time if you desire but make rawfoods and superfoods your staples and you will prosper. Having variety in your eating is important too, but these can be achieved while being 100% raw as well. You would be very impressed what you can make completely raw, its not just about simple items straight from the ground, you can make virtually any dish you can think of without cooking it, cheesecake, pizza, veggie burgers, lots of things! I've been to many raw potlucks in the area and was totally blown away by some of the things they were serving. I couldn't believe they weren't cooked!

You said something earlier too about the vital force being the only factor when it comes to food and that biology and chemistry do not play a role, I very much disagree with that statement and think there are many other factors which play a role in this puzzle that should be considered.

Nutrition is a complex issue which requires an interdisciplinary approach. There is no right and wrong to it, in a dichotomous sense, but there is a continuum to be realized and considering approaches from different angles and multiple disciplines help generate more valuable insights into defining that continuum. I do not advocate an all or nothing approach to this subject.

Both Are Correct......

Neither cooked foods nor raw fruits and vegetables lying in boxes for several days post harvesting are considered healthy foods prior to consumption. Obviously, the ideal situation is to consume a tomato in its raw state immediately after its being picked from the vine.

Grilling/flamebroiling...

Cooking meats on the grill, (charbroiling) produces two well documented and well known carcinogens.

Nitrosamine and benzo(a)pyrene

So would cooking over

wood be better????

I've heard about the theory

I've heard about the theory that we should live longer. But it was also told to me with the idea that we should be able to walk earlier than one year. Horses come out of the womb and start walking within minutes. It takes us about six to nine months (?) until we can crawl and a year to walk.

I thought cooking food for the last 10,000 years changed our digestive system and now we have to because our body doesn't have the enzymes to fight off harmful bacteria.
