Ordinary or extraordinary?

The "million dollar question"

I'm 32 and unemployed. My job went 'poof' in April. Fortunately, my background as a young accomplished professional has brought me some contract work within my industry of choice.

I know plenty of other people who also lost their jobs. Now they all compete for what few menial jobs are around. Being among the unemployed like everyone else I sympathize with them ... yet, I've always felt that my circumstances were extraordinary because I've been able to make work for myself while many others can't.

However, tonight I was struck in such a way socially that I questioned whether my circumstances were extraordinary, or perhaps just ordinary. I met a single girl from the same condo complex while out walking her dog. We started talking and ended 3 hours and a couple beers later. There are definitely some sparks between us, but check it out ... she's unemployed and also has some contract work within her industry of choice. How extraordinary!

Suddenly, I realize that my circumstances are rather ordinary. Probably just like millions of other Americans. I know of other professionals my age all working from home because of job loss and they too have contract work. I see the same thing happening across all sorts of professions and industries. It's the realty of our current society, now becoming ordinary.

I think that's good news, because it demonstrates that civil society still has a pulse! Real businesses are seemingly still alive, finding cheaper ways to accomplish their work by contracting to smart capable individuals. People like me are participating with those smart businesses in simpler terms which are agreeable to both parties, rejecting the more complicated terms of the federal empire's version of "employment". It's people to people.

I sincerely believe this major shift in how we live our lives is a growing core element of our revolution because any purpose for which people can establish equitable relationships, among themselves without intervention, is a good thing.

So thinking on those terms ... is this revolution ordinary, or extraordinary?

Apparently, revolution is ordinary. Why then does it seem so extraordinary?

I'm willing to bet that all the revolutionaries behind that long list of ordinary revolutions also felt that theirs was extraordinary. That's why there was revolution! These are ordinary AND extraordinary times, no doubt.

Revolution.

Hmm, revolution, in so many ways....

Hurray, you have contract work. My husband and I both have contract work too, but he is a builder and looking into another line of work because of the housing bubble. This is a good thing, being forced by the evil ones in control to work for ourselves. You will pay less taxes too doing this contract work because of the many deductions you can claim. This is a good thing. I think most people could do contract work of some kind. I know someone who makes a very good living just doing yard work. Unskilled work, perhaps, but contracting it out makes him a lot of money. It is more a thing of motivation/risk taking, this working for oneself, rather than a thing of skill.

Homeschool is and has been a part of this revolution for many years too. Imagine a whole generation of children not being propagandized, and trained in liberty.

Revolution.....yes, no, maybe. I don't know if it is extraordinary or not. But definately good in this situation. I guess people think it is extraordinary because so many people don't like change, and would rather stay in a terrible situation than take a risk and change.

Ok, since there are so many people on here who have to put in their two cents on the girl, I will too. (so many matchmakers in the world :) )
Make sure she is a Ron Paul girl.

I read about

8 years ago that everyone would work contract. There are people who saw this coming or planned it. This revolution is planned and expected. Those who think something better will come out of physical warfare are being fooled. The ONLY way to turn this around is a intellectual war for the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens. If we stand down that would be their worse nightmare. Imagine marshal law forced on a people who are not fighting. How would that go over with the populations of the world. It would show the government to be seen for what they are thugs. I am happy that you are getting by and that you may have found a new friend or partner. Best Wishes.
