I am so proud of you
and thanks for sharing your accomplishment with us. I really enjoyed watching it. When your produce is ready you may want to ask your local restaurants and deli's if they would be interested in buying your fresh vegetables. A great little side business. good luck.

fun 'n lookin' good!
how to keep deer away
I have successfully used human hair to keep the deer away. I get the locks from the lady who cuts my hair. The small pieces can be put in little bags made from netting and hung all around the area or on the tomato cage. I cut a circle from the netting about the size of a coffee can and thread around the outside. fill it with human hair and tighten up the string and it forms a little bag. It can be hung anywhere in the garden. If there are longer locks then the bunch can be twined at one end tightly several times and bells attached to it. This makes an interesting looking deer repellent for the garden area. My friend has had good luck with patchouli plants, they are very strong smelling and the critters do not like them. I can not handle the smell, it is too strong. but for someone who likes the smell, it could be solution. Hope this is helpful.
I heard of that
before!
NICE!
Right now I have watermelons, pineapples, bananas, guavas, lemons, limes, oranges, peppers, and lots of herbs. My dog just ate my two ripe tomatoes though.
That comment about your dog
brought back memories. We used to have a black lab that picked all the tomatoes before they got ripe. He didn't really want to eat them, but had an infuriating interest in them. He would break down a wire fence to get at them.
It would be fun to have tropical fruits, but just today it finally got hot enough to dry up the tulip and daffodil flowers that are in the shade. My tomatoes are still 2 inches tall.
Good deal.
This will be the second year I have planted a garden as well.

Looks awesome
Hey man,
Your garden looks incredible. Congratulations. My wife and I have about 0.6 acres in suburbia here in coastal South Carolina and we planted our first garden this year. We have 6 huge tomato plants, onions, peppers, radishes, corn, lettuce and potted herbs. We had around 300 tomatoes ready to ripen and within 3 days, deer came and ate nearly all of them. It was very sad and discouraging. Does anyone have some good advice for keeping deer away besides a shotgun or something that makes my yard smell like vomit?
Bow hunting
...it's quiet so you won't bother the neighbors.
...it gets the deer out of your garden.
...you get to eat the deer that ate your garden; so you're actually still enjoying the fruits of your gardening labor (just in a roundabout way).
I love it
thats the best idea yet!
throw some
moth balls around, they dont like the smell
Big dogs....
work for me.

You can buy plastic netting fairly cheap if you can't afford to
fence the area. A town nearby has a problem with deer eating gardens and flowers so they use the netting and it works.
Another super saver idea to protect plants is sheer curtains purchased at Goodwill, or netting from an army surplus store. This doesn't look to cool--(unless you like the look of camo netting)
Deer Off spray and other
spray products you can get at any garden center, or Lowes or Home Depot. It's made from rotten eggs, garlic, hot pepper, etc. You may have to hold your nose when you spray but I don't think it will make you vomit. I have a friend who makes her own concoction - you can probably find a recipe on the internet. I don't spray directly on fruit, but I spray it on leaves. I used it last year and for the first time ever I had lilies bloom, hostas that weren't eaten, etc. It's the only thing I've ever found that works.
All I can say is WOW!
I'm curious, what zone are you in?
My transplants just went in the ground yesterday and I still have to worry about frost for another 10 days or so :( ...
I must say, I have *never* seen tomato and peppers that big and vigorous!
Did you use any soil amendments/fertilizer?
Also, that apple tree looks prime for a permaculture apple guild. Google it if you get a chance.
Excellent job - inspiring.

You must be in zone 3 or 4 if it can still frost.
An encouraging word: I planted spinach and green onions last fall and they survived the winter--covered with snow some of the time! The spinach didn't grow much--but it didn't get killed off and grew again this spring.
Carrots and most root vegetables will survive with straw placed over the plants for some protection.
But they can also be dug and kept in a root cellar all winter.
Beautiful! You will have more tomatoes than you can eat,
so you had better plan on canning some. Tomatoes are safe and easy to can.
I live in a more northern climate, but I planted the cool weather veggies early. We are eating spinach, chard, turnip greens, lettuce, radishes and green onions.
Hopefully our frost is over for the year because I set out my tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, cukes and corn. (yes, I started the corn in the house because of the cool climate)
Strawberries are coming on.
My garden is 16X16 raised bed and is plenty big for what I need and extra to share with friends and family.
Great job
You're definitely going to have to can. Those tomato plants look like they'll all come in close to the same time. In my state, the tomatoes come in acidic enough that we don't have to pressure can them or add any acid, just pack and water bath.
I have stuff planted in every corner of my small lot and a Ron Paul patriot down the street let me till up and plant in part of her yard!

Looking good....
I just got through watering my babies.
Had my first round of beans this week.
"Mators" should be ready in the next week
or so.
Cheers!
Great job!
These videos are very inspiring. I started my garden last month and its looking nice. Growing your own food is the most self sufficient thing any patriot can do, and I'm so happy that more and more people are taking steps to pry their mouths off the hairy government teet. Gardening is not that hard and very rewarding. It is something that needs to be taught to each and every freedom loving individual. Thanks for posting this!
Your plants are the biggest I've seen this early
Nice Job. You're going have more tomatoes than you'll know what to do with. Next project: "Farmer Frank's Fresh Produce"

I love your berry bushes and your
wonderful garden -- and the rain barrels. Now I'm going out to water my garden, smaller than yours but I really enjoy it.

I can't wait for video three when your tomatoes look like christmas trees, and the pumpkin and watermelon take shape. Maybe this year you'll go to the county fair?
