72-year-old Grandmother Tasered at Traffic Stop (VIDEO)
A 72-year-old woman is pulled over for speeding, then tasered and sent to jail. Kathryn Winkfein says she drives to Austin about twice a month to do her shopping. But on a Monday afternoon, a Travis County Constable deputy pulled her over, on her way back to Granite Schoals.
"Due to being a construction zone, and workers being present," Pct. 3 Constable Richard McCain said, "it was 45, she was doing 60."

That was hilarious!! I like how out in the distance
he's running in an "s" pattern.
In addition to defensive tactics (these cops desperately in need of) and conscious -- we put them on a good nutritional and exercise program (another thing these cops desperately needed).
His escape was text book - nice moves.

*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
That was awesome! I think it
That was awesome! I think it was real. I liked how he said he is not their property. That says it all.
A majority votes does not give people authority over your life and make you property of the state. This idea needs to die a quick painful death.
Why are we subject to some simple majority vote. The Constitution was supposed to let folks know there were things you can't vote on, it failed of course. But these people think they can vote on anything and everyone else must obey.

I think this is incredible.
I think this is incredible. The police, much larger than this feeble older lady, uses excessive and potentially deadly force on her instead of arresting her. They could have easily over-powered her and unless she had a weapon in her hands, there was no reason for them to use this type of force. There should be some resignations and I have already placed my calls asking for an answer--not a bogus claim that she was being difficult.
a tid-bit
The Texas Constitution
Article 5 - JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT
Section 24 - REMOVAL OF COUNTY OFFICERS
County Judges, county attorneys, clerks of the District and County Courts, justices of the peace, constables, and other county officers, may be removed by the Judges of the District Courts for incompetency, official misconduct, habitual drunkenness, or other causes defined by law, upon the cause therefor being set forth in writing and the finding of its truth by a jury.
I like the "other causes defined by law" clause.

that old lady had it comin
she "got violent" and "used profanity"
SHE IS 72 YEARS OLD YOU COWARD ASS PUNKS!!!
enjoy the power trip, it will not last long
I will be laughing very soon when you are on the receiving end of the baton.......
Hey Octobox
help me out is this a "good" cop in a "good" department with "good" chain of command?
The cop alleges the 72 year old woman used profanity and this justifies the use of a deadly weapon (tazer) that has killed over 300 Americans in just a couple of years.
I refer to him as octobitch.
What type of coward would use a tazer on a 72 year old woman.

I have a feeling...
that if a cop ever tries to taser me, he is going to find that taser blasting him in the face. It would serve him right by giving him a taste of his own medicine. It may be enough of a "shock" to see the error of his ways.
Elaboration:
When I see a taser being used, it looks like they are stabbing the victim with a knife, and I know exactly how to deal with a knife stab (2nd degree black belt FTW!). If you are quick, as they thrust with their right hand, take your right hand and grab his wrist. Then, lift his arm up and step under it, right foot first, then left foot. As you are stepping under it, grap his wrist with your other hand, and as you finish the step with your left foot, bring his hand (with the taser glowing) down on whatever part of his body you can, whether it is his chest or his leg. As he is being shocked from this move, you can remove the taser from his hand and throw it as far away as possible. Resist the temptation to continue shocking him while saying, "Quit tasing yourself! Quit tasing yourself!", as that will not help you when it comes time for your trial (if you get one). By this point, the officer should be subdued sufficiently (and embaressed thoroughly). Inform him that there are no hard feelings towards him, offer to help him up, and give him a lecture about taser usage and its potentially deadly effects. Make it very clear to him that you did it only as self defense as you feared for your life.
I'm sure you would still get thrown in jail, but man would it be fun 8)
I assume that I'm not the only one on here who feels the same way, to some extent.
You may as well do the "quit tazing yourself" thing
Cause you'd be in for one hell of a beating and a long time in jail. On the bright side, you'll be THE SHIZNIT among the other inmates.

Good luck with that. None
Good luck with that.
None of the karate knife defense techniques actually work. It's not a controlled situation like in karate class. Do yourself a favor and have someone who is not a member of your class and has no respect for you in any way come after you 100% with a knife prop preferably wood or plastic so it hurts when you get stuck but not serious. Or use a marker so you can see how many time you would get cut or stabbed
You will get stabbed nine times out of ten. The one time you don't will be sheer luck. Otherwise you will continue to be under the false impression that you can disarm arm a knife welding opponent without harm to yourself just like in the movies. Your better off looking for an equalizer like a big stick, etc. or just getting the hell out of there.
You might have a better chance with an attempted tasering but i doubt it, it depends on the type, many tasers can shoot you from a distance.

People using knives are often in a rage
It's hard to tell how it's going to turn out. They could be insanely deadly or Keystone Cop ludicrous.
A lot of the martial arts techniques depend on the pain induced on pressure points. Someone in a rage isn't so affected by that.
I'm the one in a thousand people who has a strange reaction to pressure on the pain-inducing pressure points. I have a ticklish reaction. Enough pressure will cause pain just like it would with pressure anywhere else and techniques that depend on leverage work, but I do have some first-hand knowledge of how flat a lot of techniques fall when pain isn't a factor.
Another strange thing is there's a temptation to submit to a technique someone is practicing just because it's expected. It's legitimate to submit before too much force is applied in a practice setting, but the learned reaction from that is to move where you are expected to even when not being compelled. I shudder to think how many techniques aren't really effective, but people think they are just because of the learned reactions of their practice partners.
Defend Liberty!
I know the chief of police
of the next town over. He says that it is not uncommon for them to have to pick somebody up because they got hurt trying to kill somebody with a knife. The guy they try to take down usually has never taken an self defence course its just that the guy welding the knife is either an idiot or drunk, and is easily taken down.
Think about it guy who has been fighting 5,6,7,8 years in a semi controlled environment, vs guy who has been watching fights all his life on tv. Let me tell you something from experience the guy sitting on his but watching tv is painfully slow (regular fight not knife fight).
Like I said good luck with
Like I said good luck with that. What the Chief forgot to tell you is its not a one on one situation, instead it's several cops with batons and or tasers etc. vs one guy with a knife.
I don't need to think about it I have lived it and I have 30 years experience in martial arts some of it professional fighting, and I still train myself and teach others. You'd be surprised what a drunk or couch potato with a knife can do because it doesn't take much. Bottom line is real life is not a semi controlled situation despite what they told you in karate class.
Like a said get someone who has no respect for you and try the marking pen exercise with your techniques and see how many times you get cut and stabbed. If that doesn't convince I hope you never get into a knife fight under the false impression that you can easily disarm and subdue your opponent without getting cut.

Nice.
What is your style?
I am in tang soo do now. My solution would start with a nice wing bloc and i would go from their depending on the situtation. I am now a green belt (pain in the but 4 and a half hour test two months ago to get it) but I should be going for black in the next year or so.
Gale: The taser can also be shot out at your from 15feet
I appreciate your moxy.

From how close I would be at that point
I'd have his gun removed to, whether while he was shocked or if he pulled it on me.
