ABC news is not ruling out a possible explosion. It doesn't make sense to them that lightning or turbulance could bring down a plane. Most planes are built to handle that. Maybe they were over the Burmuda Triangle? Hmmm...

Wow, that was weird! There didn't seem to be anything in the report that indicated an explosion but they just suddenly came out with the explosion thing out of the blue. Why did they throw that in? I wasn't suspicious of the event until they pitched that one. It just seemed odd.

You mean like TWA 800??? Planes do not fall out of the sky because of a lighting strike. I was on a flight from Dallas to Jacksonville, FL, I thought the wings were going to fall off in a Spring time Thunderstorm. We got nailed by Lighting, and then I thought we were going straight down. (The captian didn't say anything until after we landed) Thank god it was B 757, it flys like a tank through the Thunderstorm. We probably did 5 or 6 major drops due to the turbelance. As for the Air France flight, I smell a rat here. The Airbus A330 is a tank as well. Even if the plane went down, the pilot would have radioed a mayday call unless it broke apart during the turbelance. I seriously doubt it. It was probably hit by a missile or something like that.
