I read this on the front page of Al-Jazeera as well, why is he pushing religion? He said that Americans need to learn more about Islam in this interview. Why should Americans have to learn about any religion? WTF? Who is he to tell us we need to learn more about a certain religion?

Now, the flip side is I think that the United States and the West generally, we have to educate ourselves more effectively on Islam. And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslims Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. And so there's got to be a better dialogue and a better understanding between the two peoples.

What people should really be concerned about...
is that this nation was founded as a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. In all the word play of the puppet masters it is now more common to hear that this nation is a democracy. In a REPUBLIC you have freedom of religion; therefore it matters not the mixture of faiths found in the population as a whole. However, if this is a democracy (as so many have been mislead to believe), then the faith mixture of the population is of serious consequence. We better get in gear and open people's eyes. NONE should tread upon another. I think the Gadsen flag should be revised to say "Don't tread on me, I don't tread on you" It puts responsibility on all parties to protect everyone's sovereignty - sort of like how a REPUBLIC is supposed to work.

I'm not sure that he is " telling " us that we need to learn more...But I agree that people should learn about all major religions..I as an Atheist learn as much as I can about as many religions as I can..down to the lesser practiced ones..just so that I'm knowledgeable...I think people are ignorant and closed minded and that leads them to hate based on nothing but the fact that they don't share the same beliefs...
