This cop is extremely patient and does not abuse his power nor does he allow his anger to get the better of him - he is a true example of how all cops should be - you serve the people not the government. Where have all these good cops gone? More and more corrupt cops are taking over the streets and having power trips - time to change all of that and reclaim our power.

Im not sure how many people
Im not sure how many people here know of him, but Jello Biafra who was the lead singer to the influential 1980s punk band the Dead Kennedys ran for mayor of SF back in the day. Although his campaign may have been a joke, he did present a good point in his platform, which stated that police officers should have to go up for election every 2 years when our representatives go up for election. This would get the "bad cops" voted out, and leave the good ones in.

all driving laws ONLY apply
all driving laws ONLY apply to those using the road for commerce. Americans have fallen for the trick, and have given up their right to move from one place to another by whatever conveyance, and traded it for a license from the government to "drive".
A basic right is, the right to go to church as one chooses...well, if your church is 20 miles away, you have to get there somehow. All vehicle codes claim that bicycles and animals are to be treated as "motor vehicles", this would mean you need a license to get yourself to church.
It is time we reclaim our right to drive our private automobiles. This is one of the easiest, and first steps to reclaiming our sovereignty!
DONE!
Liberating feeling to know you are traveling in your own private automobile instead of driving a motor vehicle. ;-)
I agree, it feels so good to
I agree, it feels so good to not be "nervous" when you get pulled over, and instead to know the codes, and make them stumble for the codes. I tell them to call the sergeant.
"cvc 12801.5(e)says you can NOT arrest me for not having a license"
(e) Notwithstanding Section 40300 or any other provision of law, a
peace officer may not detain or arrest a person solely on the belief
that the person is an unlicensed driver, unless the officer has
reasonable cause to believe the person driving is under the age of 16
years.
officer: "well then I'll tow the vehicle"
"cvc 22513(c) says you can only have the vehicle towed if it is involved in an accident with injuries, or left unattended"
(c) It is a misdemeanor for the owner or operator of a tow truck
to move any vehicle from a highway, street, or public property
without the express authorization of the owner or operator of the
vehicle or a law enforcement officer or public agency pursuant to
that agency's procedures, when the vehicle has been left unattended
or when there is an injury as the result of an accident.
"I think you better call the sergeant, commissioner Farrows office of the CHP, John McDonough of the CHP legal team, or leave me alone"
this is awesome
feels good to know the law...Thanks for posting*)

You guys are not going to see a lot of "good cop" videos
Because the parameters of pleasing you are impossible.
This cop was doing his "job" -- was it a righteous trafic stop -- yes, according to the laws that stand regarding speeding.
The cop was within his rights to arrest that guy when the guy slapped at the cops ticket book -- that was assault.
All - in - All -- this was the kind of cop you are looking for, relatively fit, and good demeanor. The civilian who was speeding in a Corporatist Society was wrong.
If you want speeding and all other traffic violation (and vice crimes) removed from the books then work on moving us toward a Free-Society and spend less time complaining.

there is an update from one cop
I was a cop in Michigan for over ten years, now I am doing the international thing. Let me just tell you that this was circulated as a training video over 9 years ago. What you don't know is the story as to why this cop had a video camera in his car before they became standard issue. Seems this officer had an unusually large number of complaints from even the simplest ticket he issued. His command staff installed the camera and informed the officer that he was being taped, go out and write a ticket. What happens in the opening seconds of the video has never been released to the public, they wouldn't even tell us for liability reasons, all you see is the officers condescending attitude towards the driver. Let me just tell you this, don't believe everything you see on video, the officer was suspended and fired after an investigation into his ticket writing practices.

My favorite non-collectivist rant fits perfectly here.

If "1 bad cop = 1 fired cop" none of us would be complaining
At the TOP of liveleak today is this story:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=259_1244299102
"Passaic Police said the incident is under investigation and won't answer any questions, including why the officer is still on active duty."
Then there is this:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=34e_1243666165
Cop acquitted.
And this is postively insane:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c65_1243469326
PARAMEDIC getting charges filed against him!
1 bad cop = 1 bad cop. 1 good cop = 1 unicorn. OK, it is not quite that bad.
That took me 5 minutes to find three examples that debunk your little bit of nonsense.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

going after dirty cops -- or even dirty departmental leaders.
I never lament when justice is served.

I want DP to avoid stereotyping and typecasting 900K potential RP supporters -- who do surf the net.

SOP
"when the guy slapped at the cops ticket book -- that was assault."
technically you're right but it's a total double standard. when a cop grabs an innocent EMT by the throat it's SOP, not assault, go figure.

I never defended the EMT "assault" -- no quotes it was just plain assault, probably some racism there too, but I hate to speculate off of a video.
I've never seen anything like that confrontation -- The EMT and the woman in the Ambulance will get (WILL GET) a nice fat settlement out of this.
1 bad cop = 1 fired cop
I've never EVER supported or defended an un-righteous cop on DP -- ever.
Please don't saddle me with that kind of reasoning. I make simple points - though they may be contrary to others opinions they are always the individualist argument (or one side of an individualist argument).
Also, I'm imperfect and will appologize or change my position when in error.

I'll bet the driver…
… voted to raise property taxes so that the number of cops wouldn't be reduced. The cop still acted like a big swaggering dick-wad IMO.

wow that guy was surely on
wow that guy was surely on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The officer did show great restraint although the driver could have been arrested for assault.

That is funny! Aside from
That is funny! Aside from the fact that the driver is being given a ticket for a non-crime, the cop did show extreme restraint from what we are used to seeing in such incidents. I must say I have felt like that driver at times when everything is going wrong but he must have been having a complete nervous breakdown to react that way.
Even this cop is abusing his
Even this cop is abusing his power.
Where is the injured party?
"For a crime to exist, there must be an injured party. There can be no sanction or penalty imposed upon one because of this exercise of Constitutional rights."- Sherar v. Cullen, 481 F. 945.
although most cops dont know that they are violating their oath, it is still a crime to do so!

interesting observation
would abolishing the speed limits contribute to more deaths and injuries on the roads?
Anyways this cop explained to him that he can challenge this ticket in court.

The point is, what makes
The point is, what makes speeding a crime? Officers do it all the time, the autobahn is allegedly one of the safest roads in the world, airplanes go over 500 mph, speed itself is not a crime. This is only a revenue creator.
There are a lot of things that could reduce deaths and injuries. They could ban climbing trees, would that reduce the risk of a kid getting a broken arm? it might, but that is not the point of America.
If someone is driving recklessly near you, then you have a valid complaint to call the police. Because no one has a right to endanger your life, and if you are willing to file an affidavit that you are mentally injured by the stress of someone driving that way, then you can make that claim. Just like no one has a right to point a gun at you or your family (unless you are on their land) because it violates your right of peace and comfort. But if someone is on a stretch of highway in the desert for example, what is wrong with them even going 120 mph?
And yes you can always challenge a ticket, but the mere fact that an officer stops you without a warrant is exactly against what the founding fathers imagined for this country. Everyone who gets stopped should immediately submit a fee schedule to the court for every order and action they agree to. Usually $2500 in U.S. Silver or Gold coin.
A servant cannot stop, and request information from his superior (the people) without a warrant from a judge, and with just cause.
you make many good logical points
perhaps I have a different way of seeing this while living in Canada and seeing so many cars hit moose deer or hitch-hikers(used to take rides all across Canada...)...
take speeding on lakes here many accidents in the summer
do we allow speedboats and waterscooters to run over other craft and tear swimmers and fish to pieces? lol
anyways I know I will not be speeding anytime soon because I use only public transit and keep healthy by walking a lot and biking.
going to the beer store next door and I shall drink to your health patriot*)
Thanks for making this thread alive with a different point of view.

Would have
been a real saint if he had let the guy off with a warning instead of costing him over a hundred bucks and time missed from work and the possibility of an insurance hike. I have felt like the driver of that car in the past even though I didn't act that way. Your struggling finacially, the kids need clothes, the dog needs to go to the vet, your going to be late getting to a crappy job with a crappy boss, you may have been 3 mph over the limit or a break light out and then you have to stop and wait for them to write a ticket and radio in to see if you have any warrents ect.. But he was patient with the irrate man. But that was quite a while back. Not very likely these days. Unless your my husband. He's a led foot and they always seem to let him slide. Just yesterday he got pulled for expired tags and no ticket. Just lucky I guess. He did have the tags. Got them quite some time ago through the mail. Just forgot to put them on the car. They were at home on the mantle.
On a side note. Cops do have quotas to meet each month. At least in my area. Most deny it but I have had 2 of them tell me so. They are supposed to write a certain number of tickets per month.
Thanks for reminding
us what a tough job the cops have. I've never had a bad experience with a cop, but nowadays it's like the world's gone crazy even some cops. Yet, it's only some. In the event of any actual Martial Law/NWO etc. we would want the cops on our side. You don't get this by abusing them. They're people too.
well said
There are many good cops many are Ron Paul supporters(one is my friend on digg.com).And yes absolutely we need them on our side actually last year I was promoting the idea of Ron Paul supporters joining the police force so when the SHTF we have our people there to defend us.
