Logic: Schiff vs Ventura

0 votes

Peter Schiff in a recent speech to the Libertarian Party stated that they need to take over the failed Republican Party.

Jesse Ventura states that both Democrat and Republican Parties are corrupt, and we should vote for neither party, or 'none of the above'.

According to the Pew Research Center, residents (like that term?) are:

- 39% Independent
- 33% Democrat
- 22% Republican

We all know that the Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, Green Party, JBS, and the Republican Party would have voted for Dr. Paul, if he were the nominee.

The only thing that was needed was one debate between Obama and Dr. Paul...

Do we stick with the plan to take back the corrupt, bought-off Republican Party, or do we move to an Independent Party?

With the corrupt, bought-off media already spinning absolute jokes of potential front-runners for 2012, we need a plan, and need it now...

Well....

Parties tend to have a power tendancy.
And as we know “power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak, and that it is doing God’s service when it is violating all His laws.” (John Adams). For we must remember that, "a general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader." (Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779)

Hence, we realize that principles are the key in politics and liberty. "Illustrious examples are displayed to our view, that we may imitate as well as admire. Before we can be distinguished by the same honors, we must be distinguished by the same virtues. What are those virtues? They are chiefly the same virtues, which we have already seen to be descriptive of the American character — the love of liberty, and the love of law." (James Wilson, Circa 1790)

So clearly, it is principles that we stand behind and not parties, and as long as we stand behind our principles we will win. For "it does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” (Samuel Adams)

Ultimately parties are

Ultimately parties are pointless. Principle over party should always be the objective. Count yourself lucky if you live in a state where you don't have to be registered to a particular party (like Mississippi, I'm told.)

However, we do live in a world that operates on a faulty 2-party system. Until that is changed, I think the best solution for results is to work within it. I think the best option is to join a third party (Libertarian, Constitution Party or Independent), but whenever the Republican primaries come around, switch your registration to Republican so you can vote for a guy like Ron Paul (or the weakest link if there is no constitutionalist). And then switch back to your 3rd party the next day. Do the same when the Democratic primaries come around and vote for the libertarian candidate (if they have one) or the weakest link. And switch back to your 3rd party the next day. :)

Voting in the primaries is vital in order to get the right guy the nomination. Unfortunately most people ignore them. So, I think my above plan is good if you live in state like mine (KY) where you have to be registered with that party to vote in its respective primary.

I would like to learn more of the Constitution Party

Is there any part of the Constitution Party on what they stand for that you do not agree with?

Please list any thing that you disagree with the Constitution Party.
