rhino: What is this all about?

I see alot of displeasure expressed here on DP since Mr. Nystrom has been out of town.
To me, it boiled down to one very specific action by a moderator.
Posting a 9/11 thread on the front page.
It had nothing to do with the thread.
It had nothing to do with the topic.
It had nothing to do with the author.
It had nothing to do with the dailypaul format.
It had nothing to do with Mr. Nystrom.
IT HAD TO DO WITH A MODERATOR AND/OR MODERATORS THAT BLATANTLY CROSSED THE LINE THAT MR. NYSTROM CLEARLY DREW IN THE SAND.
Once that happened, the ball started rolling.
Silly (Petty) things do matter.

I’ve noticed that a few of my comments have been dropped here and there. In fact one time a gal e-mailed me I think only a few seconds after we lost our written conversation. I just chalked it off to either too much online “traffic” (high server load) or just a well-meaning mod simply thinking the gal I was joking around with and I were bitter toward each other.
But it’s not worth starting and perpetuating wars (gee…who does sound like?)
Just grow up, people! (Unless you like making yourselves look like fools.)

I think we should have a special sub section
for all the crybaby, whining, losers that are too dumb to admit they are wrong. There all 5 of you can start all the stupid threads you want about how us "nutjobs" are ruining this site. There you can live in complete denial while staying out of the way of the rest of us who can at least rub 2 brain cells together and see what is right in front of our faces.
This place is starting to remind me
of my sisters house, where I don't go unless absolutely necessary. Undisciplined kids just looking to fight for the sake of fighting..it is fun and all but it gets pretty embarrassing (sp?) when half of the topics shown up front are about mods, paranoia, tin foil arguments, blah blah blah...
Maybe we could just have a "cage match" section where we could $hit down each others necks without being seen by people who wonder along to check this place out...maybe come up with a "celebrity deathmatch" type game..he who loses gets to "have a coke and shut the fuq up" for at least 24 hours.

That was the post where a Fox affiliate interviewed a twoofer about the 9-11 demolitions. Wondered why DP suddenly had a paranoid conspiracy post front paged when Ron Paul has nothing to do with 9-11 conspiracies.

calling those who dare question the government's account of 9/11, paranoid, conspiratorial, and "twoofers" is childish. Belittling others should be moderated out not offering alternative explanations.
Regarding Dr. Paul, I don't know if you noticed, but Paul is already a fringe element in American politics. Many people are intractably convinced that he is a total nut, because he advocates for the abolition of the Dept. of Energy and the income tax. Ron Paul has spent his whole career at the outermost margins of the mainstream. Let's not pretend that its' 9/11 Truth or asking questions that marginalizes us. It's the very name of this site that does it! I am OK with that. We're trying to change the mainstream episteme, discourse, etc. not conform ourselves to it!

Alot of it comes down to civil discourse. This is ultimately a political website. When you put someone down, it pretty much shuts off their capacity to listen to what your saying, because you (not you personally, the generic you) put them into a defensive role.
I think it's not the content of people's beliefs that is so difficult, it's how they're expressed.

I have attempted to bridge both sides of the dispute between those that want "fringe" content and those that don't. I have suggested that all content is valid because it opens the door to debates that are of interest to a varied crowd. Then once you've got their attention, push the Liberty message.
I know it was here that I posted. I posted my response before I proof read it. I proof read it in place in the thread.
I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but to silence my opinion - that is altogether something else. I will not be mad however, this is the first time I have had this happen. Possibly I'm going mental. But I doubt it, I've been mental for a loooooong time.

this is off topic, but I had an idea for a cartoon.
There's this guy hanging onto the ledge of a skyscraper with one hand in his other hand he is holding Freedom, Liberty, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Standing on the ledge offering a helping hand is Big Government and on the front of his his shirt is written Bailouts, Security, etc. And he says to the guy hanging for dear life...let go of what you're holding take my hand I'll save you.
Oh, and on the back of the shirt of the guy being saved is written "I am a big American Idol and Dancing with the Stars fan."
