Selling my Ron Paul stuff
Submitted by cammy on Fri, 06/05/2009 - 09:48I'm stepping away from the Revolution unfortunately, for personal reasons, and I am parting with my Ron Paul stuff. My local group shut down, and I don't want to throw away this historic stuff, and figured the Liberty-Lovers at the ole trusty DailyPaul would like a shot at them.

I believe "cammy" to be a poster that used to go by "Cameron_deHart" who came here about a year ago, trying to bring Ron Paul supporters over to the Obama camp. He (of course) was unsuccessful at that, but shortly after that he changed his tune, and started calling himself a RP supporter.
He hung around to express his statist, socialist opinions, and fight with some members who would call him a troll.
His views have never been in line with a pro-liberty philosophy.
My first thought when I saw this post was "Wow, you can un-take the red pill?" but after finding out who he is, I realize you can't.
HE NEVER BELIEVED IN LIBERTY! He is just trying to make a buck (which I hope he'll report as income, because he loves paying taxes so much ;)
What is Liberty?
What is Liberty?
I thought you didn't...
play word games? Being a little hypocritical here? And by the way liberty cimes from Latin "liber" meaning free. Word games are no fun are they?

WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
i have a feeling
cammy is a canadian. i don't think anyone on here really believes this crap.
This is sickening
This guy took and hoarded free Ron Paul gear and now is attempting to sell it? He probably took these items from Ron Paul supporters handing them out or was given them by a real supporter on the promise that he would hand them out also. Sick F%CK
This guy is an Obama supporter to the core.

Cammy...
I have one thing to say to you, and this is the reason I support Ron Paul.
It's not left vs right, it's the state vs you!
If you are truly concerned about civil liberties, I suggest you take a look at Thomas Jefferson's quotes. You quickly get the picture of how oppressive government is. As General Washington once said; -
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
If you are about liberties, this is not something you should want more of, and with BO, you are getting more than you ever asked for.

Thomas Jefferson is not president anymore.
CMON
You woulden't have any liberties if it weren't for Jefferson and men like Patrick Henry who insisted that a bill of rights was necessary to go along with the constitution.
If you have no respect for Jefferson, you have no respect for civil liberties, period, or you are going to try and come up with some theory about 'moderate liberties' - like this doesen't always lead to tyrrany.
Even most democrats who do have a conscience about liberties acknowledge that Jefferson is one of the most important men in American history.
Turn your brain back on.

Men like...
Alexander Hamilton, who created the First Central Bank?
Men like George Washington who sent the army in to stop an anti-tax rebellion?
You can't pick and choose your Patriots.
just for giggles...
what exactly does that mean...will you please elaborate? I personally think your just trying to help yourself out on the ebay auctions by hanging out here...but to ignore history just because "Jefferson is not president anymore."? So every four years your whole mentality and brain just changes to suit the new puppet? I'm just not getting it.
I am saying that the words
I am saying that the words of Jefferson, taken from the context of the late 1700s and early 1800s do not apply in 2009.
And I'm saying that the words of Cammy from 2009
or any other time are irrelevant in this or any other time.

Have you figured out that cammy
is not a fan of Ron Paul or liberty? Just someone trying to make an extra buck on some ebay crap. Must have been real dedicated to have it all left from all the supposed "work with the campaign".
Kind of like the mail guy who go popped for storing mail in a storage unit rather than delivering it.
Thats right, can't go
Thats right, can't go outside to do that because then the Chemtrails and the UFOs will come getcha.
I've read your reasons for leaving
and I think you are correct that you are not a fellow traveler in the "Ron Paul Movement." I'm a little surprised that you got involved at all, given that Ron Paul did a pretty good job linking his anti-war and pro-civil liberties positions with the necessity of having a small and less active Federal Government. You seem to believe that we can have a big government that can tax heavily, provide a wide variety of programs and services, yet respect our other liberties. I suppose that is possible, as long as the men and women who exercise the power to take away half of our incomes are angels in all other ways. Well, the people who are currently exercising that power to tax and spend are also exercising the power to spy on us, revoke habeas corpus, plunge us into wars, etc. So, with the ability to do good things comes the power to do terrible things, too. Pick one, and you get the other.
As to the tone of the debates on the Daily Paul, yeah, it can be brutal. I, too have been infuriated when treated rudely by certain personalities here. I've been called "troll," "stupid," and "asshat" (whatever that means) at various times...but in the very next encounter with the same people I will find myself in complete agreement and find their comments to me supportive. I blame it on the anonymity of the internet. Mixing it up with other Daily Paulers sometimes requires a very thick skin, but I think that is true of any on-line group that has passionate and opinionated members.
Let me give you some advice about the theological commentary: if you don't buy it, ignore it. That's what we would all do if we met in person, so why not on-line? (By the way, I learned from the Bible thumpers here that my favorite passage in the Bible is Romans 2. To them, I say thank you from the bottom of my atheistic heart.) :)
And as for conspiracy theories: Sometimes there are conspiracies, and sometimes there are not. Figuring out which is which takes effort and time. All I know for certain is what a former Air Force officer once told me: I don't think my government is lying to me; I KNOW my government is lying to me. In the 1940's there was talk of a conspiracy that got us into WWII, and fifty years later history has shown those theories to have been well founded (read "Day of Deceit"). Or how about rumors in the 1960's that the Golf of Tonkin attack was faked...a rumor that turned out to be true. Etc. So, please forgive the people who are grappling with 911 for they do so with partial and contradictory evidence that seems to point to a much different story than the official story. What is true? Someday we may thank all those conspiracy cranks out there who refused to ignore those pesky, stubborn facts that contradicted the official stories.

Good post.
and very wise
Advise that can help an open mind.
