America's greatest historic failures to defend her own freedoms.
I'm compiling a list of America's greatest historic failures to defend her own freedoms. Would you please weigh in for me?
I'm looking for instances where either human rights or the Constitution or the Rule of Law were trampled upon and the People and/or the States just rolled over and let it happen PERMANENTLY. Let me give some examples of what I'm looking for.
Possible good examples:
1. Civil War. Lincoln unilaterally and unconstitutionally decrees that a state cannot secede from the Union except with the unanimous consent of the Union. (First Inaugural Address) The nation fails to take a stand against this decree. Thus, to this day, this decree has never been overturned.
2. Federal Reserve Act of 1913. Congress railroads the Act just before Christmas, unconstitutionally handing over control of the nation's money to a private bank. The people never rebel against it.
Not-so-good example:
1. Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. They were unconstitutional and they violated the First Amendment, but they expired in short order. So even though the people put up with it, it was not a PERMANENT or semi-permanent condition.
Anyone care to chime in with some examples? I'm hoping to end up with 10 to 20 really solid ones.

Gerrymandering
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering
Sold to the People as to help minorities voice be heard, it does the opposite.
"Cracking and Packing" are 2 terms that describe the fraud.
The area around Austin,TX was Democrat, until the [R] representatives "cracked" it into 3 Republican districts. And minorities are the key to systematically reduce the strength of ALL voters. Ron Paul's district 14 was affected by this maneuver in 2003.
The Documentary: Crossed Lines
"Gerrymandering is a new documentary film that will examine the conspiracy of partisan redistricting - a legislative technique that allows politicians to manipulate electoral boundaries and influence elections for decades at a time. This practice is as old as the United States itself, and Gerrymandering will trace the history of this political weapon from the signing of the Constitution through to today's high-stakes computer-aided mapping battles."

Other than the Supreme Court being irrelevant...
Constitution provides that only the House of Representatives originate revenue bills.

I'd have to agree with others here on the USA PATRIOT ACT
as the most recent and most egregious assault on the Constitution and individual liberty.
Roosevelt nationalizing all the Gold...
and then inflating the hell out of the currency.
Roosevelt throwing people into internment camps.
Every time our government has Fixed Prices (Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman, Nixon)
Patriot act (as some others suggested).
Every draft (Civil war... WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc)
I think the Patriot Act applies.
Provisions of it are due to expire this fall, I believe, but I'm unconvinced the Patriot Act is temporary. I'll believe it when I see it.

I second that!
Nice to have an eloquent poster on here who puts constitutional liberty on his front burners.

Too many to mention...
Check out the books "Hologram of Liberty," and "War is a Racket." These two books alone will give you more than you can process in a month's time.
"When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers, and destroyers press upon them so fast, that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon the American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the pensioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited, and virtuous, the seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity, and frugality, become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity, luxury, foppery, selfishness, meanness, and downright venality swallow up the whole society."
--John Adams
SOUND FAMILIAR????????????
"The Constitution has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it."
--Lysander Spooner
That's a great quote!
Thank you!
Executive Order 9066
Enough said.
You know, I think it is fair to say that just about every
single bill since 1913 are in fact Unconstitutional which means right action by the public and congress was not taken to defend our inherent Sovereign Rights. If right action was taken and the political trust was honored as it should be, we would not possibly have what we have today.
It is fair to say those who are behind 'globalism' are, and have been particularly well versed in finding every conceivable way to act 'as if', We the people, have privileges NOT Rights, and get Americans to 'behave' in a way that says, 'slave' on their foreheads.
They have become Masters at spinning all things political into a bamboozled distraction day after day. Inserting phrases like, 'new world order', or 'we are a democracy', to spread freedom and democracy around the world' .
Of course, those of us here may know this but such a vast majority either doesn't care to know or doesn't think its even important to them.
Do Sovereign people ask permission from a government that was instituted for the very purpose to protect the sovereignty? Absolutely NOT!
Are Sovereign people granted privileges by their own government? Absolutely NOT!
It all boils down to personal responsibility of the citizens and those they elect.
However, here is the clincher. If people are dumbed down enough, physically, mentally/psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually, by an entire monopolized system of their earthly world, no matter what, its going to take the fiercest of wills to continue to educate those who may still not know the simplest of secrets....that we are Sovereign and we have inherent Rights, and no amount of illegal bills can make that fact go away!
Say that again!
Anisha, this line is dead on:
I believe you have hit upon one of the fundamental necessities. I believe that the current level of "educating those who may still not know" is going to prove insufficient. Do you agree?
I'm working on how to build such an education campaign (both with ROLR and with another initiative---actually two others that are not in beta yet.) It's aggravating to be unfunded because that means that great ideas are put on hold simply for money. But if I can work it out, I'll launch at least one, if not both, by the end of this year.

I am sorry, I went off on a tangent there. To answer your
question: "I believe that the current level of "educating those who may still not know" is going to prove insufficient. Do you agree?"
Sadly, I agree.
Why? Sorry to be cryptic, but, I do not think they are meant to know this for reasons that are not ours to know.
Should we still give all we have to get the message out? Absolutely, because those that are 'meant' to know, need to know this now.
I will continue to do what I do until I no longer feel 'energized and guided' to do so. I just listen to my inner guide. It really helps me to decide.
So do you think, Anisha, that...
we are in a system that is sometimes influenced by superhuman forces and sometimes not?
I find that confusing. On the one hand, folks would think we should just sit back as if it all depends on the supernatural. And on the other, they would think that we should be active as if it all depends on us. But the idea that it's something of the two combined is certainly an unfortunately idea for those trying to promote activism!
How do you think all this works?

It is completely up to each of us. It is my
own belief that we are in fact holograms of all that is. As above, so below.
We will create here on earth all our desires, thoughts, and vision of what could be. How beautiful life would be if there were no indoctrination?
Is it easy. Not very. Look at all the ridicule one endures when we bring up the Constitution or our Sovereignty in a discussion with some outside of this movement. I am incredulous at the responses. It is shocking actually. But the indoctrination since we were children in so many cases, make it seem so.
That is why Jack, we have to keep moving forward with this. We are on to something huge. Like I said, they can still crank out their Un-Constitutional bills day after day, year after year, but it isn't going to make the fact that we are Sovereign, go away.
Well, may God and all his Celestials bless you and all
those who have chosen to channel their life force energies to this end at this timing.
I adore what you are doing, Jack. You and all others who are currently conspiring to pass on these ancient and modern jewels.
I will admit to something deeply personal here.
It was around two years ago, after studying, reflecting, re-reading the Declaration, the Constitution, and our Founders, that I became fully cognizant of what it was that our founders really, really left us.
It hit me like a ton of bricks. It was as though I took notice of a 'key' that was lying on a shelf ever since I could remember. Except this time I picked it up and really looked at it. It was simple. It instructed me to repeat over and over again, "I, am Sovereign, and there is absolutely NOTHING in this Universe that can alter this fact".
I must have sobbed for an hour when I realized this within the context of how they brought this about, right to this very day.
Thanks for the encouragement, Anisha.

Amen, Anisha.
Thank you.
How about those amendments that were not really ratified?
PROOF THAT STATES DID NOT RATIFY THE 16TH AMENDMENT.
In 1909, Congress passed the proposed 16th Amendment. It was sent to the states for ratification by the state legislatures. There were 48 states.
Three-fourths, or 36, of them were required to give their approval in order
for it to be ratified. Knox declared the 16th amendment ratified onFebruary 25, 1913, just a few days before leaving office. He counted 38 states as having approved it.
>Kentucky: The Kentucky legislature rejected the amendment 33-9, but Knox counted it as having passed 22-9.
>Oklahoma: Oklahoma voted for the amendment but changed the wording to mean the opposite of the proposed amendment-even though a memo from chief legal counsel Reuben Clark warned that states were not allowed to change the proposed amendment.
>Tennessee: Tennessee violated its own state constitution when they failed to delay the amendment vote until a new state legislature was elected. The obvious reason for this state constitutional clause was to ensure that the People of Tennessee would have direct political input on the federal constitutional amendment process. Tennessee also violated their own state constitution by failing to read the resolution on three different days as prescribed by Article II, Section 28.
THESE STATE CONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATIONS MAKE THEIR APPROVAL OF THE AMENDMENT
NULL AND VOID.
>Texas and Louisiana: Texas and Louisiana violated provisions in their
states constitutions prohibiting the legislatures from empowering the
federal government with any additional taxing authority.
NOW THE NUMBER IS DOWN TO 33.
Twelve other states violated provisions in their State Constitutions,
bringing the number down to 21. Further evidence in Mr Benson's research
report make the list dwindle down much more, but with the number to 21,
fifteen fewer than required, this is a suitable place to rest for the
purposes of this article. For a more detailed state-by-state account, to:
"How some States Failed to Ratify The Sixteenth Amendment", which is located on our web site.

Excellent, Qwerk!
I haven't read Bill Benson's volumes yet. It's on my short list as soon as I can afford to buy them.
Hey, does he mention anything of any public complaints after the certification by Knox? Are there news stories? Letters? Speeches in Congress? State resolutions? Etc.?

How about
the New Deal.
Good one.
There are probably lots of examples of what I'm after all wrapped up in the New Deal. What was it....something like 900 unconstitutional programs that FDR initiated?
