1st Annual Smedley Butler "War Is A Racket" Badminton Tournament

Here is my first announcement, sent to people I hope will field teams. This is a very easy event to do, and a way to start bringing groups together. I tried to "cookie cutter" it so you can use it to host one of your own. Of course, you are invited to compete in ours, too, if you want to come to Idaho for it!

ANNOUNCING THE FIRST ANNUAL
SMEDLEY BUTLER MEMORIAL
“WAR IS A RACKET”
BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
(Insert time and location - his birthday was July 30, we are having ours on the 31st.)

A FUNd-raising event for causes that promote the true American ideals of PEACE and LIBERTY.
Guest speakers have been invited, will announce them when confirmed. (Insert name of event host.)
ONLY SIXTEEN TEAMS will be able to compete, so get your partner and get registered! Standard tournament rules will be modified to fit our facilities and the time allotted. Teams will consist of two players, age and sex of the players will not be taken into account. Registration fee will be $20 per team. A maximum of $5 from each fee will be used to cover event expenses, the rest will be given as a donation to the winning team's cause. First Place will receive 50% of the prize money, Second place will receive 25%, Third and Fourth place will split the last $25.

Registrations will be taken on first paid for, first reserved basis. To register, please send us the names of both players and the organization you will be playing for, along with a $20 check to:

Let's beat some swords into Badminton Rackets and have some fun, and mix and mingle with other people who understand that LIBERTY is what makes our nation strong, and PEACE is what makes our nation prosperous.

It really annoys me when

I read something like this for the very first time and I'm half way through my life. (War is a Racket) Thanks LoveandLight for the link (look down the comments). You know its going on but nice when someone who is in it writes it out.

Two time Congressional Medal winner, and there is not even a foot-note next to the names of Alvin York and Audie Murphy. I guess it's because he actually proposes a SOLUTION to war... Nah... That couldn't be it.
