This is where we are headed, if we do not succeed!

Labour Euro MP and Chairwoman of the European Parliament's Internal Market Committee, Arlene McCarthy, has won the support of the European Commission and Member States for a new law to tighten controls on convertible guns in Europe.
She is urging all Euro MPs to vote for the proposal tomorrow (Thursday 29 November) to make it law and has been thanked and backed by The Association of Chief Police Officers (APCO) in the UK for her work.

As someone who's lived in Europe..

I can say that's actually not too horrible a thing for them. Don't get me wrong- I am for the unequivocal enforcement of our 2nd amendment rights to the fullest extent here at home, but that is due to our American culture, the weapons manufacturing complex already in place, and the proliferation of arms in the hands of criminals here in the states.

Over there, where guns do not exist, why introduce them? We NEED guns here, for protection from criminals and our government. They do not. It's sad for me to say that in spite of their socialistic governments and limitations on gun ownership I am still more convinced that Europeans would revolt to prevent any usurpation of basic human rights and the installation of fascism. They would revolt at the polls while America is still sleeping, that is unless Ron Paul wins.

Which is why victory is imperative. Weapon-less Europeans are more upset about American's policies than the average Joe sittin' on the porch with a six pack and his 12 gauge. That's despicable- on our part.

Fortunatelly Switzerland is

Fortunatelly Switzerland is not in EU, and Czech Republics constitution, which is probably the most liberal on gun laws, doesn't permit EU to tell them what to do with their guns.

What are they going to do,

What are they going to do, make them illegal again?

j/k

I know this is an unpopular

I know this is an unpopular view, but where guns are illegal to own the murder rates are way way lower (ie europe). If no one had guns, there would be no need for owning a gun for self defense. A knife would be good enough.

Misogynist!

Here's what I say: the gun is the great equalizer, because a woman can pull a trigger as well, or almost as well, as a man. Take away guns, and women are left utterly vulnerable to the greater strength and size of men, which dominated them for millenia. Also, take the example of Switzerland, where for years EVERYONE had guns, often full-auto. They weren't exactly swimming in crime. But that is besides the point. The GOVERNMENT will always have guns, and that is why we must always have guns. The purpose of gun ownership is not defense against crime, but defense against tyranny.

In UK they prohibit KNIFES!

In UK they prohibit KNIFES!

oh, stop it.

enough said.

I don't believe you but all

I don't believe your reference, but all you need to do is find some way to get rid of guns.. you can get rid of drugs, and child porn too while your at it.

Truth is you can't get rid of them because there is a market for them, and anyone with one becomes a virtual god that can kill at will against an unarmed populace.

You have a right to defend yourself with the very same weapon a criminal might use on you, and you have a right to defend yourself from a tyrannical government.
