big government, liberal-neo-con, money stealing, taxing, bombing, meddling, yankee.
If you're a small government, freedom loving yankee, we'll let y'all come along this time, just don't put sugar in the grits, and wear black socks with your shorts in the summer.

Jazz is the music of freedom and is 100% made in the USA. It has constantly been tied to people struggling to be free. It was the merging of African immigrants' music and cultures with Western European harmonies and musical form that jazz was born out of. I will spare you the lecture so here is a list of great musicians and recording that are worth checking out. There are great classical composers as well, especially Eastern European ones (notice the need for freedom again). Blues is always good too. Good luck on your search.
Jazz-Anything by these musicians is killer, but I listed a couple of recordings to get you started.
John Coltrane-Love Supreme and John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman
Miles Davis-Kind of Blue, Bitches Brew, Miles in the Sky
Charles Mingus-Ah Um, Mingus Mingus Mingus
Eric Dolphy-Out To Lunch
Ornette Coleman-The Shape of Jazz To Come
Duke Ellington-Far East Suite
Chalres Lloyd-Notes from Big Sur, All My Relations
Art Blakey-Free For All
Singers: Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sammy Davis Jr.
Other Artists worth checking out; Tomasz Stanko, Jan Garbareck, Bobo Stenson, Keith Jarrett, Dave Douglas, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter, Joe Lovano. There are too many to name.
Classical: Bartok, Stravinsky, Pendereski (Threnody for the victims of Hiroshima), Mahler, Berlioz, and of course the big three Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.
Blues: Robert Johnson
Other: James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, Blood Sweat and Tears, Jill Scott
