HR 1207 daily phone/email/fax bomb!!! 6/10/09

Today's victims: Congressman Gary Miller R-CA42 and Congressman Jim Himes D-CT4. Both are members of the House Finance Committee, however, Gary Miller is the last Republican member of the committee who is not a cosponsor of HR 1207. I think that means we should try extra hard with him, as he will fall into aligning with his party members!

Gary Miller

I called Gary Miller's DC office this morning and was told he in fact supports and has now co-sponsored the bill.

"First you are ignored, then you are laughed at, next you are attacked, then you WIN!!!.".........Mahatma Ghandi

Garry Miller!

Thanks to everyone yesterday who contacted Miller and made it clear to him that he was the only Republican member left on the Finance Committee who had not yet sponsored the bill! We are making a ton of progress on this. Great work to everyone! If the rumors of 213 are true, we only need 5 more, which I am positive we can achieve within the next few days. Keep up the hard work!

It appears Ron Paul wants us

It appears Ron Paul wants us to not only contact our representatives, but to also concentrate on Barney Franks and the remaining non co sponsors on the Financial Services Committee.

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=97079
"This piece of legislation is perhaps the most important of my career," Paul wrote in an April 30 letter to supporters. "Americans from all over the political spectrum are demanding an audit of the Federal Reserve. And with good reason!"

Paul is urging people to contact representatives or stop by their offices – especially members of the Financial Services Committee – to demand that they support the legislation.

He suggests citizens begin by contacting Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-Mass.

Please add Rick Larsen (D-WA) to the target list before weekend!

Rep. Rick Larsen (D) of Washington state district 2 is one of only three of nine Congressmen in WA that have not signed on to co-sponsor 1207.

Our plan is to show up en masse at his Town Hall meeting in Ferndale, WA on 6/13 to pressure him to co-sponsor on the spot!

This strategy was very effective at a similar town hall meeting with another WA Dem congressman, Jay Inslee, in May (check out the youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVOqZiHvN4w where Inslee agrees in front of a crowd of over 100 to co-sponsor)

Please add Rep Rick Larsen to the target list for this week - tomorrow or Friday. We want to make sure he knows about the bill in advance of the meeting where we'll drive home our point in person.

Thanks all!

Emailed and more info

To email R-Miller you need the exta 4 digits of the zip code; if you are using his zip code here are the last four 4396.

To email R-Himes you also need it: 4808.

Here is a sample email:

Whereas, the Federal Reserve refuses to give public accounting of the trillions in recent taxpayer-backed loans; and

Whereas, Congress has the responsibility to force a public audit of the Federal Reserve, and the American people deserve to know how their tax dollars are being spent and the currency inflated; and

Whereas, allowing the FED to remain out of control and shrouded in secrecy clearly allows for abuse and the continued stealing of our tax dollars; and

Whereas, the Federal Reserve System itself leads to constant economic crises like the current housing crisis and the resulting chaos; and

Whereas, the Federal Reserve System forces fuel, food, housing, medical care, and education costs upward, that everyone who is not on the government dole is forced to make do with less as the value of their money slowly decreases; and

Whereas, history shows us that riots, violence, and full-scale police states can result when people finally realize fiat money isn't worth the paper it's printed on and refuse to accept it;

Therefore, I urge you to co-sponsor Ron Paul's Federal Reserve Transparency bill (H.R. 1207), and make every effort to seek roll-call votes.

Sincerely,

Good news and bad news from ...

I called Rep Xavier Becerra's office and politely asked him to be aware of the fact that he hasn't co-sponsored RP's HR Bill 1207. And they put me on hold. That's the bad news

The good news is that they put me on hold because they were getting lots of calls about 1207 and I had to wait in line for them to get to me!

The gentleman told me that he is aware that Rep. Becerra hasn't signed on yet, and that lots of Californians were calling him about it, and that he understood the concern of opening the books of the FED to the American people and would pass my message along to the congressman.
