Letterman's competition are posting the "results" of their online poll. Guess what? According to the poll, 81% of Americans think David Letterman should be fired. Congress can vote themselves a payraise, the IRS can audit themselves, the police can police their own and the fox guarding the henhouse shouldnt be seen as a conflict of interest. How dumb do they think we are?

On the housing front, the residential market remains weak, but there were some positive signs. Real-estate agents in eight of the 12 regions — New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Richmond, Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas and San Francisco — reported an "uptick in home sales."
