Bentham Publishing Exposed For The Fraud's They Are
Here's an excerpt
Earlier this year, Davis started receiving unsolicited emails from Bentham Science Publishers, which publishes more than 200 "open-access" journals – which turn the conventional business model of academic publishing on its head by charging publication fees to the authors of research papers, and then making the content available for free.
As the emails stacked up, Davis was not only encouraged to submit papers, but was also invited to serve on the editorial board of some of Bentham's journals – for which he was told he would be allowed to publish one free article each year. "I received solicitations for journals for which I had no subject expertise at all," says Davis. "It really painted a picture of vanity publishing."
So Davis teamed up with Kent Anderson, a member of the publishing team at The New England Journal of Medicine, to put Bentham's editorial standards to the test. The pair turned to SCIgen, a program that generates nonsensical computer science papers, and submitted the resulting paper to The Open Information Science Journal, published by Bentham.

So as the debunkers were saying months ago, this Bentham journal is pay-for-publish vanity journal and the fact that Stephen Jones got his little thermite paper published in it hold no fact because they were willing to publish a paper that made no sense whatsoever, as long as the $800 publication fee cleared.

Aww..
How cute! Trying your despunking skills again?
The paper was peer-reviewed and is fine. Whatever the financial side of the company did does not reflect on the science of the paper written.
Much like your posts don't really reflect reality.
We'll give you a C+ for copy & paste effort... a D for origionality, an F for rationality.

They used made up names and
They used made up names and gave their institutional affiliation as the Center for Research in Applied Phrenology, or CRAP. Did you actually look at the paper they submitted? It made no sense.
red-black trees, vacuum tubes, and courseware? Someone who is supposed to be a peer-reviewer reviewed that as acceptable for publication?
Go do some research on Bentham. There are hundreds of people online posting the spam they get all the time from them. Anyone with any scientific background gets spams from them to be a 'reviewer' regardless of its your field of expertise or not. I take comfort in knowing that someone reviewing a paper on neuroscience is an expert in Electrical Engineering.

Davis and Anderson committed
Davis and Anderson committed the fraud, not Bentham. Peer reviewers examine the science, they have no way of knowing if the raw data underlying it was fraudulent. This goes for all peer reviewed journals. Scientific fraud will occassionally creep into even the best journals, including Bentham. The fraud gets discovered when other independent scientists go to the source of the data.
This is not something to brag about if you are from the debunker movement.
Bentham has published 1000s of scientific papers by PhDs.
The Nano-thermite paper by Doctors Harrit, Farrer, and Jones was subjected to extraordinary review, taking six months for approval, and is of rock-solid quality. You have provided no evidence whatsoever that Harritt's conclusions are not correct.

These guys are grasping at straws.
