Moving On: Building A Mainstream Freedom Movement

I have decided to delete the body of this post, as the thread (which was intended for non-conspiracist, mainstream Ron Paul supporters) was hijacked by the Alex Jones crowd.

Conspiracies

I don't like Alex Jones, his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
However don't diss people who do like him. When Ron Paul denounces him, OK. I don't see that happening.

Sorry to see you go.

I don't know how much research you have done on 9-11 or other issues but many on here have been researching these issues for a very long time. I guess they are tired of being put down. Time is running out and pretending these things are not important are over. Like the champagne bottle under pressure the truth will not stay down. Eventually, and soon I hope all the secrets will be revealed into the light for all to see and not all the money in the world will be able to buy silence.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

Mainstream Ron Paul supporters?

C'mon Jack, say it... you're trying to start a new conspiracy.

There are Ron Paul supporters with differing views on different topics but to show so clearly you are wanting to divide the supporters?
Ron Paul supporters come in all shapes and sizes, age groups, colour. We think for ourselves... and that is why we are one.

I am beginning to believe that you are the only one having that broad picture you keep talking about. It might be broad in your own mind but appears pretty narrow to me.

Disclaimer: My responses are my own, nobody set me up to respond. I am fully responsible for any possible insults or derogatory meanings the reader might read into my responses. I am not responsible for any feelings the reader may experience as a result. Doublespeak? possibly.. summary: I don't give a rat's

Same point

but as I said on another thread.......we're one, but we're not the same, well we hurt each other and we'll do it again. We're one, but we're not the same, we get to carry each other.

No Parkman, your thread was not hijacked. You sowed a seed...

...to pick a fight.

You reaped exactly what you sowed.

You knew when you began with the insults in your title, the reference to "Tin Foil Land", and continued with your collectivist, divisive tripe that you were going to start something tantamount to a bar room brawl.

You do not get to holler "foul", Jack Parkman.

If you wish for a different harvest than what you received, you need to use different seeds.

Within 15 minutes

of the announcement that Michael is back in town, Parkman pulls his OP.

What a shocker!

He's gonna have to pull more than the OP to clean this up.

Did you see what he said to a poster below?

"Do us all a favor: grab a bottle of bleach and do an "inside job" on your intestines."

What kind of person would say something like that?

Hilarious Irony

I ask for us to come together and set aside the topics that stigmatize the movement. No one said Moon Landing Deniers shouldn't stay in the movement and just be Moon Landing Deniers on their own time. Heck, I encouraged them to stay.

That wasn't good enough. I was attacked, labeled a "disinfo agent," "shill," "propagandist," "poisoner," and many more colorful attacks. Above all, I was told to shut up (Ironic how people who ostensibly are claiming to support free speech don't want OTHERS to speak, ain't it?).

So, I suggest the possibility of doing that: giving up. "You win, freaks. You have created a desert and call it peace, and I leave that desert to you."

Apparently that's no good either.

I created this post to not to argue with you irreconcilable movement-jackers. I created this post to discuss, with the MAINSTREAM, NON-SCARY, REALISTIC, RATIONAL folks who you have tried to chase off this site and out of this movement

When I say "mainstream," I'm talking about people who just want freedom. Philosophically, they know it's what's right. They aren't here to talk about magic clouds or secret societies or what kinds of metal you can put in your morning coffee with your Metamucil to turn your skin the most delightful shade of blue. They don't want freedom because they think Bill Gates caused 9/11. They just want freedom, and don't want a side order of your idiocy.

They tolerated you guys long enough. They tried to work WITH you and not against you, even though they were embarrassed to stand near you at rallies. They got through the election, and wanted to see what's next. But some of you blithering idiots can't even let those freedom lovers be. You have to deride them and accuse them of not taking the appropriately colored "pill," as if we're living in a damn Keanu Reeves movie.

This thread is me reaching out to them, asking them to drop me a line, so we can see where we go from here. But you guys can't even deal with that, can you? Many of you want to work together, and have sent messages of support. But some of you freaks can't go five minutes without acting like spoiled little toddlers.

Go ahead, usurpers. Take the movement. Hijack it and turn it into the Alex Jones Revolution. Then maybe you'll leave us the hell alone.

This thread was not for you, to you, or at you. But apparently it doesn't matter. You OCD-having freaks have to jump all over it like Homer Simpson on a glazed ham.

Kudos.

I happen to be

one of those 'nutcases' who happens to think that two planes can not nock down three seperate towers. I also happen to believe there are WAY too many 'coincidences' in the official CONSPIRACY theory (you know, the one which assumes that 19 cavemen armed with boxcutters pulled of 9/11 because they hate our freedoms) to make it even remotely credible.

As far as the Revolution is concerned, the thing I liked most about the Ron Paul presidential campaign was the positive additude among the many Ron Paul volunteers who made everything possible, the enthusiasm, the fact that people from all kinds of backgrounds were working together for a common cause: freedom and liberty. It was exactely as Dr. Paul said: "Freedom brings people together."

I don't understand how someone who supports Ron Paul can be so narrowminded about other people's believes.

Yeah, I understand the

Yeah, I understand the concerns on both sides. Maybe sometimes things get a little too ridiculous when I see moon landing and UFo on the forum but if people feel the site has gotten too 'crazy' they can ignore the forum posts and stick to the main posts in the first column. Or, better yet they can write there own posts asking questions about liberty, philosophy, religion, RON PAUL, among a myriad of topics that relate to liberty, Ron Paul, and constitutional governance. If a post is meant to be, it will stay. Unless Michael decides to delete posts he doesn't deem in line with the focus of the site, then we cannot do anything. Until then, I say ignore what you don't want to see and focus on what you want to hear.

Cosponsor map is finally here!!: http://libertybrewcity.blogspot.com/

Fair points, but...

...you're missing the larger picture if you think we can just "ignore" harmful things and they'll go away.

Sure, I can "ignore" the whole "did the moon landing happen?" thread. But the harm isn't my time that's wasted if I read it. The harm is done to the reputation of the movement. Each time someone co-opts and hijacks the freedom movement to rant on about their stigmatizing "pet issue" (be it the moon landing, chemtrails, 9/11 troof, etc.), we all get linked to it a bit.

The people behind the spreading of these topics, some of whom I speculate are disinfo trolls and others who have a vested interest in the success of people like Alex Jones, are discussing their issues in the wrong arena. If I want to discuss the appropriateness of the Designated Hitter, I don't go to a Ron Paul Meetup or forum. And heck, that's not even a topic that stigmatizes people as "fringe."

When they bring their fringe issues here, it makes us all look like fringers. That's simply unfair. Some understand that, and have the respect for others to keep their conspiracy proselytizing and liberty activism SEPARATE. Some don't understand that, and are content to shit not only where they eat, but where we ALL eat.

This thread should help illustrate, in more depth, why we need to come together to get back "on message."

Good Luck

Thanks for giving us our bandwidth back. We now have room for one more person that believes in freedom. Don't let the door hit you.

You don't believe in freedom...

...because you clearly have no sense of responsibility.

With one, comes the other.

Censorship is responsibility?

"Hello Pot, yeah this is Kettle. I just wanted to tell you that you're black".

You live in a warped world.

Mainstream Media Movement?

parkman, you think mainstream media truth is better for your movement, then go for it. Stay in the idiot box. it has nothing to do with freedom.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
woo hoo!

Move along. Nothing to see here.

You're obviously not interested in a respectable freedom movement, so why are you in this thread? Can't you be satisfied with the 90% of the DailyPaul you've hijacked?

And "mainstream" doesn't equal "mainstream media." I'm just speaking on behalf of the silent majority of Ron Paul supporters who want political change without a side order of your psycho-babble.

I'm Not Convinced

you're taking the proper action here on this site, which is not yours. Out-of-bounds, take-it-up with Michael Nystrom!

Now, calling Sept. 11, 2001 truth a lie, you are most definitely mistaken! Unwilling, uninterested in being a partaker of this truth is your option.

I'm still studying Alex, somethin' fishy may be goin' on there, but the study is continuing. I'm 100% objective, so it can go either way. I don't listen all-that-often so it's taking a long time. I have other interest!

What...

You mean that demeaning the majority of the membership here and attempting to use the Daily Paul as a recruitment tool for his own competing website may possibly go against the spirit of this forum?

Nah.. that's probably a coincidence.

:)

Serial defamer

Have you no decency. This morning you defamed me no less than 3 times with insane drivel that had no connection to my words.

Now, you've got your confused head so far up your ass it's not even funny.

1. The majority of membership at the DailyPaul thinks we should be constantly discussing conspiracies instead of focusing on political activism? Really? Prove it. (::Waits patiently for Devon to commit the ultimate logical fallacy and cite some sophomoric forum thread labeled "Poll: Vote Here!" as representative of all DailyPaul readers or even all registered users.::)

2. What competing website do I own? Hell, what website do I own, period? And how am I using DailyPaul as a "recruitment tool" for a website that doesn't exist?

3. How ironic is it that a 9/11 hijacker like yourself (someone who, for instance, infiltrates a political movement and hijacks its mission to discuss fringe conspiracies like "9/11 was an inside job," etc.), would accuse someone else of using DailyPaul as a "recruitment tool?"

4. How ironic is it that my reputation as a Ron Paul supporter is "demeaned" by fruitcakes like you how have completely trashed the image of the movement, yet I'm the one accused of "demeaning the majority of the membership?"

Do us all a favor: grab a bottle of bleach and do an "inside job" on your intestines. If I hated freedom half as much as you claimed, I'd be suing your for libel, prick.

~yawn~

You can't sue me for libel, dumbass. That would mean that I am giving you a negative image. Which is certainly not the case.. your own posts are. For instance, me just pointing out that you are a dumbass is not libel... it is an observation. It also does not impinge on any of your rights, as I am not taking away from you the right to be a dumbass.

However, you telling me to go kill myself actually has legal consequences. Bet you didn't know that, either.

And being a dumbass can't get you out of that... TY for the reply.

We'll be in touch... ;)

~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~

::chuckle::

1. Why don't you pepper in the word "dumbass" once in a while. It'd really add some spice to your attacks.

2. Are you an expert in libel law? I am. And from the looks of it, you don't seem to have much of a clue.

3. Your worthless opinion that I'm a "dumbass" isn't libelous. Making statements of fact (check) that are untrue (check) and damaging to one's reputation (debatable) is defamation. I can easily prove the first two parts of that. Your only real defense would be that no one (or at least, no one worth a damn) could possibly put any stock into anything you say. A jury might buy that defense.

These folks have their priorities in the wrong order

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Well, I guess he called that one.

every "movement" in history has been coopted for the bankers use

Mr. Parkman, why haven't you watched "Money Masters.' It was produced by scholars. Most of us here have watched it.

Focus on the truth of our world and all the colloidal9/11chemtrails will mean nothing....they are just flies buzzing on the window pane, brother...tune them out.

"movements and leaders" don't work. It is how we have been controlled for centuries.

If you want a "movement" that means you either work for the guys in charge or you don't get it.

Do some research. They have always controlled the opposition.

You really don't need to "save" the DP. We'll be Ok. It's just like one of those beat up bars near the hiway.

Folks passing through doing and saying what they want. A scrap now and then...couple cops show up if it gets out of hand...but the bartender usually keeps it in line.

No movements please....the men in charge LIKE movements and I don't like the men in charge.

Unify

You do have a good point

You do have a good point when you say "No movements please....the men in charge LIKE movements and I don't like the men in charge."

If you look at history movements always phase out. They accomplish an end goal, whether it be voting rights or civil rights. Our revolution should not be a movement because we not only have a goal of having liberty, but we need to defend those liberties as well. The way I see it, we will never be free of liberty 'attackers'. The revolution may end, but the message of liberty will not.

HR 1207 Cosponsor map is finally here!!: http://libertybrewcity.blogspot.com/

I am a coordinator with the C4L

I have the honor/privilege/task/burden/challenge of working with many people with many views. I respect them all and will discuss any topic with anyone no matter what my opinion is of the topic.

I will, of course, state my case, or in some cases argue the counter for discussion purposes. What topic in the world should intelligent adults not discuss?

To me, there is no topic a human can dream of that should not be discussed with other humans. Just so I don't appear speciest, I will also include non-human terrestrials and intra/extra terrestrials in the above statement.

The open dialog of ideas is one of the most basic things we are fighting for. It baffles me that people would want to stifle this basic premise of liberty.

I do not condone, or allow in my presence, mean spirited debate or personal attacks. Every one of us should be able to discuss things in a calm and civil way. I do, of course, recognize the difference between angry and passionate defense of one's position. We should let the logic of our positions win the day and not the power of our egos, or the intimidation of the other side.

I will say, speaking for myself and no one else, I identify myself with over half of the bullet points above.

I do not segregate myself from people who hold opposing views. I want them involved in the fight for their liberty. I fight for their liberties as much as my own. We all need each other.

The blanket of liberty we want to wrap ourselves in should not be a sheet of pure white, but a multi-colored quilt of both simple and complicated designs. That is the tapestry for America I want to see.

well said. you may have

well said. you may have changed my mind!
