In the WtF? Department, the Obama Administration is considering a radical plan first implemented in Flint, Michigan to bulldoze entire neighborhoods and return them to nature as part of the effort to combat dwindling tax revenues.

Sounds creative.. Destroy the past & move the pirodyme...LET the people pay for it though..We do not want to use our own money, when we can milk the public..WE will just manipulate the makets for now...Spread the wealth, so WE can use our money somewhere else..CCCHA CHING $

These forests and meadows
These forests and meadows will turn into places for the poor and homeless to live. It will also be the place for drug deals and other sketchy activities. A park near my house was closed and fenced off during the 90s after it became too dangerous to go to.

Or the areas will be patrolled and off-limits
to actual people, so they won't be useful for growing food or other productive ways people could use them before the government takes them over.
i had a feeling
michigan was going to be mentioned. i wonder if they'll attempt the same with detroit or pontiac. joe biden's visit here must have something to do with this.
Repeating what happened in the Great Depression
they plowed crops under, while people were starving, to keep food prices up.
Wow,
it is happening for real just like they want it. Have to admit they have thought of everything.

Darn you beat me to it
My first thought was Agenda 21. How long before they close the roads to little out of the way towns like mine? The good thing is I now have just the thing to scare the beegeebies out of all the Obama voters here.
How does this make sense when we have so many people losing homes, as well as so many who are already homeless? Surely some of these homes would make great fixer uppers.
bulldoze dc
we are run by idiots.
If "hitting rock bottom"
is the criteria, then I suggest Washington DC should be at the top of the list for some serious bulldozing.
The federal reserve buildings...
should make really nice condos for the homeless.
Haha. Good one BigT
:)
Does he have the Authority?
Or will the US government blackmail cities, counties, and states?
UK Telegraph has a big story about this.Strange that it is UK ..
story and not a big story here.
US cities may have to be bulldozed in order to survive
Dozens of US cities may have entire neighbourhoods bulldozed as part of drastic "shrink to survive" proposals being considered by the Obama administration to tackle economic decline.

The government looking at expanding a pioneering scheme in Flint, one of the poorest US cities, which involves razing entire districts and returning the land to nature.
Local politicians believe the city must contract by as much as 40 per cent, concentrating the dwindling population and local services into a more viable area.
The radical experiment is the brainchild of Dan Kildee, treasurer of Genesee County, which includes Flint.
Having outlined his strategy to Barack Obama during the election campaign, Mr Kildee has now been approached by the US government and a group of charities who want him to apply what he has learnt to the rest of the country.
Mr Kildee said he will concentrate on 50 cities, identified in a recent study by the Brookings Institution, an influential Washington think-tank, as potentially needing to shrink substantially to cope with their declining fortunes.
Most are former industrial cities in the "rust belt" of America's Mid-West and North East. They include Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Memphis.
In Detroit, shattered by the woes of the US car industry, there are already plans to split it into a collection of small urban centres separated from each other by countryside.
"The real question is not whether these cities shrink – we're all shrinking – but whether we let it happen in a destructive or sustainable way," said Mr Kildee. "Decline is a fact of life in Flint. Resisting it is like resisting gravity."
Karina Pallagst, director of the Shrinking Cities in a Global Perspective programme at the University of California, Berkeley, said there was "both a cultural and political taboo" about admitting decline in America.
"Places like Flint have hit rock bottom. They're at the point where it's better to start knocking a lot of buildings down," she said.
Flint, sixty miles north of Detroit, was the original home of General Motors. The car giant once employed 79,000 local people but that figure has shrunk to around 8,000.
Unemployment is now approaching 20 per cent and the total population has almost halved to 110,000.

Philly could use some shrinking
The City's infrastructure was built to accommodate 2.5 million. We have 1.4 million now. The house is too big. Large swathes of Southwest and North Philly are decrepit with many empty lots and "shells" where vibrant neighborhoods once stood. Sure, the oligarchy has bled America dry, but it is what it is. Philly could shrink in the interim and it would lower the cost of local government. Oh, how naive of me to make that last statement; it would just allow for more money for municipal workers.
It's called: Agenda 21
Now by the warm and fuzzy name: Sustainable Development. Brought to you by your city's Council of Government.

Agenda 21 (UN directive) was first implemented in America in my home town (Santa Cruz, Ca) as measure C in the 1980s.This was the testing ground. It has devastated private property rights in our area. It has now been adopted in EVERY COUNTY IN THE US in some form or another.

Sustainable Development is the Action plan being used across America and around the world to
implement the United Nations Agenda 21 program. Although the movement’s roots are much
older, the United Nations, at its 1992 Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, publicly launched the
global movement known as Agenda 21. The Secretary General of that ‘Earth Summit
Conference,’ Maurice Strong addressed the gathering and said the following:
“...current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class ‐ involving high
meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban
housing are not sustainable.”

BTW, the C.O.G. in my hometown REALLY doesn't like me at all. In fact, they frown every time I walk into one of their "public" meetings. They know that the questions I ask them are not intended for them, but the answers that they KNOW I'm going to hold them to are intended for the people in the audience.
Man, they really don't like me at all. But, I cannot deny that my feelings for them are mutual.

I thought that today too
I thought it was strange all the US news on YouTube is coming from overseas.. and when a reporter mentioned THE Security Counceil, I thought, what security council, and then I thought, oh wow, UN Security Council the net is a tool for the NWO... we are now being given international news about the UN and UN concerns globally.

Our MSM does not rerport on anything substantial these days.
They do not want to offend anyone, and are lukewarm all the time, except when it suits their agenda.

I heard a talk radio person joking about this...
I'm not surprised it may be coming true. I can't remember who it was, but basically they said it was a supply/demand issue. If you want housing prices to start rising again, get rid of the over supply by bulldozing empty houses. Pretty soon demand will catch up with supply, and we will all be in happy land again. And they call us crazy?
Lumber companies closed down here

As the population booms....
Mr Kildee acknowledged that some fellow Americans considered his solution "defeatist" but he insisted it was "no more defeatist than pruning an overgrown tree so it can bear fruit again".
I wouldn't consider it defeatest.. I would consider it UN Agenda 21 Sustainable Development
