A word of appreciation for Mike Lawson

I have been around here a while, usually have at least one foot in my mouth. I have come to know several of the posters here pretty well, and come to respect many and think a few are a brick or two shy of a load, but Mike Lawson is one of the ones that really brings a nice variety of information from good sources. From chickens to military reports, he is always looking to help educate and further the Liberty movement.

Mike is a hero. He is highly visible. He is not afraid.
Further, Mike Lawson knows exactly what's going on in the world. For me, it was his acknowlegement of the tyranny affecting land ownership and small family farmers. I agree with Mike on every issue.

I'll tell you where I came from, the Ron Paul presidential campaign, thats where people like me came from. Freedom loving Americans who care so much about Ron Paul's message that I wince everytime Mike Lawson uses RP's good name for spreading hairbrain theories about chemtrails and 9-11. Asking questions about these things is one thing, name calling and type/screaming at people who disagree with your methods is another.
Mike has no respect for people that might disagree with his point of view, and I had enough. Thats where I came from, I'm tired of People Like jack using Ron's name to spread their own, personal message.

I was one of the state coordinators you all managed to sabotage every step of the way. I was one of the people who became a delegate, only to have the national campaign folks do a disappearing act. NOW I understand why you have such a problem with folks like Mike and me, we actually get shit done.

Why use your talent to make web pages to scare people?
Why not use your talent to make your point about Ron Paul 1207 rather than Mike Lawson Mayor of Awesomville? I see allot of work being done here on DP by comparison to other sites. Mike recently posted us about an opportunity he found educating his customers about Ron Paul and sound money. He did not mention any conspiracy.
As for the conspiracy.. it's so thick on the internet, you can't escape it. YouTube is replacing TV for news, so EVERYONE in the world on the net is seeing 911 Truth. It needs to be talked about, not to water down Ron Paul... but because it is a HUGE elephant in the YouTube living room and people need more than duty to Ron Paul. They need to relax and laugh and get to know each other a little.

I am no angel either, though I certainly try to be the paragon of civility and adhere to Michael's rules. And as a result, sometimes my posts go begging for a single comment. So it goes in the free market of ideas.
You call such speech divisive. I believe a movement that allows a variety of voices to be heard is made stronger, not weaker, by such inclusion.
This doesn't mean we let everyone speak and we listen silently with our hands in our laps and heads bowed. Anyone who disagrees should feel empowered to speak out against what they believe is wrong. And I believe this can be done in a respectful way.

I first took notice of Mike when he wrote the post about how he almost blew himself up. I laughed for days over that one. And the chicken post made me smile... DP classics.
Mike, I agree with paul4won. Daily Paul would lose something if you were to leave. And same for you paul4one. Don't you leave either. Actually, this DP family loses something whenever any Dper leaves. I, for one, appreciate you all.

Sorry, Parkman, I do listen to all viewpoints, and refuse to believe that they should be excluded on the DP simply because some find them offensive. I haven't been here long, but the education I have gotten from Mike Lawson and others has been profound. This is a place of growth--for me at least.

Fair point of view
But to be clear, this isn't about excluding someone merely for their "point of view" or because "some find them offensive." This is an individual who's committed countless, bright-line violations of the written forum posting guidelines.
Beyond that, he's exhibited deliberate dishonesty and posts content that is a detriment to the reputations of site users and supporters of the movement. I'd argue that his comments also violate the forum rule against posting material harmful to Ron Paul.
Obviously, nothing is going to happen. The lunatics now run the asylum here. So be it. But I don't have to like it, or tolerate flagrant defamation from this "appreciated" poster.
