Beef Magazine Didn't Like The Results Of Their NAIS Poll!

And they would like the poll to show that cow-calf producers want it! (We don't!)
I received this notice this morning from a warrior in the Anti-NAIS battle. :-)

"Morning~~~ If you are tired of the flawed NAIS, take one more swing at it.

Beef Magazine is running a NAIS poll and asking producers to vote for Mandatory/ Voluntary/ or Scrap NAIS. Lets take the time to show them a real anti NAIS movement. Please log on and vote at: http://beefmagazine.com/ Please pass this on to a concerned friend."

So---there ya go, 'concerned friend'! Let's show these Corporate Ag Entities that we do not want mandatory NAIS!

UPDATE:
They just want the Beef Magazine subscribers to vote! (Corporate AG entities and Sheeple)
BEEF DAILY 6/18/09
"In case you have missed it, BEEF is currently hosting a poll on the homepage asking the question, “Should USDA’s National Animal Identification System (as currently proposed) be mandatory, voluntary or scrapped?” With 29,634 votes, at last count, the poll indicates an overwhelming 75% vote for scrapping the proposed plan. However, these polling results don’t necessarily mesh with our regular BEEF readers. Past surveys of BEEF readership have pretty consistently shown that proponents and opponents are 50-50 on this program.

It has come to my attention that a very motivated sector of the anti-NAIS movement has been encouraging members to vote in this poll in favor of scrapping the proposal. Many of these organizations come from outside our regular beef industry readership. While I’m thrilled that so many individuals want to participate in this online dialogue about NAIS, I sincerely hope that this poll represents the views and opinions of the dedicated BEEF readership.
I encourage everyone on the BEEF Daily mailing list to head on over to the poll and vote. And, while we’re at it, why don’t we discuss the pros and cons of this program in the comments section of this blog post? I would love to hear your thoughts in this open dialogue where all opinions matter. Thanks for your participation. I look forward to an honest debate about an important issue."

Can someone fill me in with

Can someone fill me in with their complaints on this program? I see how a system like this could drive out small farmers by making them invest in expensive technologies, but other than that, I don't see many issues.

It would be easy to track 'madcow' using a system like this. Also, consumers could theoretically use an online tracking system to find out the exact farm, location, diet and processing facility of each and every package of beef they were to buy (should such a tracking system ever be created).

Why exactly do you guys have issue with this?

Choice

If this is something useful, it's wonderful for it to be on the market, and hopefully, it pays for itself. But when the government makes it mandetory, it's not affordable to anyone in the long run,,

Take food saftey, we have the FDA the EPA, and many moe where chefs and managers buy licenses and certificates and food handlers in processing, they have industrial grade cleaners and yet.. last few years we've had major out breaks of ecoli and more...

Now lets say this was not mandetory, anyone could make and sell their food and certificates and licenses were voluntary to buy... people would buy them, and I bet there would be far fewer outbreaks on a masive scale because the competition. People look for inspections on lables and that used to mean accountability, now it means you owe them more money.

1,000 small farms and ranches are going out of business due to

bankruptcy and excess government regulation and this is BEFORE NAIS!
The bottom line is food control. Please check out these websites and educate yourself. Thank you for asking!

And the happy news is that

And the happy news is that the NAIS funding has been pulled! Of course it can and probably will come back, so we must not grow complacent. Rosa DeLaurio, that queen of crooks whose husband works for Monsanto, says the funding is pulled until USDA can figure out how to make it work [translation: how they can successfully stuff it down our throats!].

The Real Poll Should Be....

(and don't get me wrong I hate NAIS and voted to scrap it )

Should we continue to raise animals in the most horrific manner possible, feeding them their own ground up species and bombarding them with growth hormones and antibiotics endlessly?

Or should we only allow free range natural feed with no growth hormones/antibiotics?

Now that would be a poll but the greed of big agra would tend to win out for profit thus continuing to supply substandard crap that is poisoning the world...
