Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk (R): The newest anti-marijuana crusader. 25 years for potent pot

Putting someone in Jail for 25 years is Murdering them for 25 years.
Deuteronomy says that putting someone in Jail to get money is akin to murder as well. This is what the drug war is. These people claim to come in the name of the "prince of peace" who sets captives free.
But they are always beating the drums of war and figuring ways to lock people up. I'm confused?

Wouldn't treatment be the "christian" thing to espouse and not murder?

They drew "First Blood." They have no no more moral authority than the Sheriff in First Blood who screwed with Rambo because he was a "vagrant". Pot smokers are the new "vagrants". The new subclass to discriminate and hate.

Republicans like Mark Mirk want to Regulate Everything Plus URINE.

I guess it is because urine comes out of the closest orifice to Mark Mirks dwelling place The Colon. Because everything out of his mouth has the stench of feces.

This is the same Mark Kirk who just told the Chinese govt not to take any more of the US govt's debts. Kirk (being a Republican) didn't tell the Chinese this during 8 years of W selling China our debt, he waited five months into a Democratic Administration to do it. In essence, he was willing to damage his own country in order to embarrass Obama. He actually bragged on TV of committing this bit of incivism.

Now to try to rehab his own reputation, he comes along as a crimefighter against the Drug Scourge. Which drugs? Meth? Crack? Designer Drugs? -- No, they're all produced in his homestate of Illinois.

He's picked a form of marijuana with special medical promise. One that hasn't been associated with serious crime. One that competes with the drugs produced by his homestate. And he's attached a sentence so severe that suspects might be willing to kill in hopes of avoiding prosecution!

when Marc Emery has announced his cross Canada 'Tour' bringing awareness of how prohibition of 'natural' drugs are responsible for the gang violence, not just in prisons, but when they come out in our cities and neighborhoods making it unsafe for all.

He will also point out 'who benefits' from prohibition.

I do not believe for one minute this legislation, 'out of nowhere', is just an innnocent 'co-incidence'.

i guess the sheriff is against doctors prescribing fda approved marinol, drabinol, cannador, cannabigerol pills (synthetic pharmaceutical THC) due to the "increased harm to the system".

To call this alledged Congressman a jerk would be a generous description. He wants to give out what amounts to life sentences to pot smokers, in a country where people convicted of manslaughter serve an average sentence of seven years.
