Almost impossible...
Regardless of what this poll shows, Grayson has been chosen as the Republican candidate already by the Republican machine.
One of the big problems here in Kentucky is our voter registration rules. If you want to change your party affiliation for a primary, you must be registered by December 31. I'm afraid in order to elect Rand, we would have to basically register a whole new party by December 31.
I've been trying to register people, but I think I would have better luck asking folks to volunteer to be innoculated with Leprosy than to register Republican.
We all really wish he would run Independent, with no party affiliation at all. The obstacles of a statewide race are different than a national race and the Independent status issue could be dealt with.
Having worked on a number of campaigns in Kentucky throughout the years, I think the challenges of the Independent race would be less of an obstacle than the Mitch McConnel machine.
I hate to feel negative, and I will work as hard as I can on this campaign whatever he decides to do. But I think that winning these online polls just gives a false sense of hope.
Maybe while you are trying to get folks to register Republican..
Share with them a little about the Republican Liberty Caucus and their efforts to turn the party into something Jefferson would of felt comfortable with...
