Here it is.
Today's victims: Elton Gallegly R-CA24 and Darrell Issa R-CA49. There are only 15 Republican members of the house who currently are not cosponsors to the bill. I think we should target these last 15 and try to get them on board. This will bring us closer to 290. When contacting them, make it clear to them that there are only a few of them left, and that they should join the rest of their party in cosponsoring the bill. Neither are members of the committee, but we should still try getting 100% of the House Republicans on board.

Well, I sent faxes and emails already. I will be sure to make a phone call to his office today. Was this his DC or California office by the way? There is no more avoiding this issue. These Congressmen/women need to stop giving in to special interests, and stand up for America for a change! Thank you for fueling my frustration right now with these Congress members. This motivates me more and more to keep on fighting for what is right, and not giving up or backing down to these so called representatives. Everyone, no more backing down to the special interests. It is time to reclaim America for we the people!

I spoke with Micah, the aid. He said Issa had his own bill, HOUR 2392 for transparancy. He asked if I would like more detail and I said yes and explained Kucinitchs cospnsorship scenario even with 2424. He explained that government info (excluding the GAO) would be posted. I responded number one, the GAO not being posted doesn't address FED secrecy and number two and more importantly that the GAO is extrememly limited in its ability to do an audit!!!!!! I let him know we need all transparancy efforts to be supported. I let him know I would look into his legislation and that the congressman should consider including the GAO in his legislation and cosponsoring 1207!
I called both Cali reps and let them know my Cali rep, McCarthy cosponsored it after we had a huge tea party!! I implied, watch out, you don't want me and others speaking about lack of leadership in front of thousands like in Bakersfield! Watch out guys or join us!

The current law determining the limits of the Comptroller General's ability to audit the Fed is TITLE 31 > SUBTITLE I > CHAPTER 7 > SUBCHAPTER II > § 714

(b) Under regulations of the Comptroller General, the Comptroller General shall audit an agency, but may carry out an onsite examination of an open insured bank or bank holding company only if the appropriate agency has consented in writing. Audits of the Federal Reserve Board and Federal reserve banks may not include:
(1) transactions for or with a foreign central bank, government of a foreign country, or nonprivate international financing organization;
(2) deliberations, decisions, or actions on monetary policy matters, including discount window operations, reserves of member banks, securities credit, interest on deposits, and open market operations;
(3) transactions made under the direction of the Federal Open Market Committee; or
(4) a part of a discussion or communication among or between members of the Board of Governors and officers and employees of the Federal Reserve System related to clauses (1)-(3) of this subsection.
