What is the mood at your workplace?

0 votes

Over the last month or so I have noticed that folks have pulled inward about talking the state of affairs, politics and pending legislation. I am wondering if many see how serious things are getting and are a bit scared. I would think that most of them think this is just temporary and the economy will bounce back next quarter. They do not seem to be light heartened and much laughing anymore.

Maybe they have just had enough. I do not watch TV or listen to the radio or read newspapers or magazines, so I have no idea how brain dead they are with the propaganda. But then of course they could be frightened over the swine flu epidemic (LOL).

What changes have you seen in the mood or other odd changes at your workplace or school?

Print and post these famous quotes at work and see what reaction you get.

It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." — Henry Ford

"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it." -- Congressman Louis T. McFadden in 1932 (Rep. Pa)

"Most Americans have no real understanding of the operation of the international money lenders. The accounts of the Federal Reserve System have never been audited. It operates outside the control of Congress and manipulates the credit of the United States" — Sen. Barry Goldwater (Rep. AR)

“The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government of the U.S. since the days of Andrew Jackson.” - Franklin Delano Roosevelt

“The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than beaurocracy. It denounces as public enemies all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the bankers in the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe.” Abe Lincoln

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." — Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President.

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it's issuance." — James Madison.

"This [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President [Wilson} signs this bill, the invisible government of the monetary power will be legalized....the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill." -- Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr. , 1913

"A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world--no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men." — President Woodrow Wilson

"By this means government may secretly and unobserved, confiscate the wealth of the people, and not one man in a million will detect the theft." — John Maynard Keynes (the father of 'Keynesian Economics' which our nation now endures) in his book "THE ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES OF THE PEACE" (1920).

"While boasting of our noble deeds were careful to conceal the ugly fact that by an iniquitous money system we have nationalized a system of oppression which, though more refined, is not less cruel than the old system of chattel slavery. — Horace Greeley

"The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from it's profits or so dependent on it's favors, that there will be no opposition from that class." — Rothschild Brothers of London, 1863

"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" — Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild

Everyone where I work is very busy. We are lucky, so they are all happy. But.....I pushed them all so hard on Ron Paul during the election time, that they are ALL 100% awake. They watch all of the news....MSM and then compare it with "The truth". Just today....one of my employees came up to me and brought me an article on the fed. They are all aware...but seem to feel the same way I do now. Kind of "Ho Hum" if you know what I mean. I spent 2 years banging my head against the wall in regards to the ridiculous spending our country is doing, as does all of my employees. They understand the facts. They understand the truth....but in reality......what can we do? We all are calling the reps in congress, faxing, etc...and educating all of our friends and family....but over time....you just get this hopeless feeling. Does this make sense?

I taught them all to stay out of debt, and get everything else in order...but I also taught them to enjoy life. Enjoy your family and friends every day. Don't let the news get you down. Live life...enjoy, as well as stay prepared.

It is very enjoyable to see how awake they all are.

Businesses are closing left and right around us, yet we are growing and growing due to some of our competitors going under.

Enjoy life my friends. If you are struggling financially.....then do something about it. Drastic changes may need to be done.

EXAMPLE:One of my employees was buried in his house. He tried calling to rework his loan over and over, but the banks said they could not help him unless he was behind on payments. Well he pulled the trigger. He stopped paying his mortgage, and let his credit take a hit. Well....after 4-5 months....the bank called and worked it all out. Super low fixed interest rate now, and forgave him on the delinquency. Now he is able to make his payment....able to stay in his home, and the payment is almost $400 less per month. I told him to do it...he did it, and now is thankful.

Whatever it takes to get out of debt, and get your finances in order....do it. Figure it out.

Just my thoughts

I am self employed and my income has been cut in half since last year. Normally, I have 20 clients a week but now I have 8-10.

We had dinner with some friends and went around the table asking how everyone's job is doing. I was the only one out of 7 who is struggling. I am in NM which hasn't be hit as hard as other places. But the real estate market along with the car dealers are some of my clients. Some of these folks I haven't seen in over a year! They used to come every month.

I work for a major phone

I work for a major phone company setting up high speed data networks for large corporations. I manage accounts like Goldman Sachs and American Express. I feel pretty secure in my position at the moment because during the inevitable downturn I will always have work taking down the networks even though I am currently not doing much disconnecting or new starts.

Almost everyone here is against Obama though. I live in a city that has benefitted from oil companies that have been attacked by democrats at every turn. I moved here from Nevada though where the Ron Paul revolution is probably the strongest but once RP announces his 2012 campaign it is going to boom here.

I also do fashion design but until our currency crashes it is hard to compete with the cheap labor of china. But I am planning on doing alot of tailoring and alterations for additional capital.

At my workplace (a very very large, well known manufacturer; not currently going bankrupt) contractors on the site are getting laid off by the dozens every single week. We've put up with a whole lot of crying and farewells in my contractor office, literally every week. Thursday, we were waiting to clock out when a truck drives up and 4 guys get out, one of the older guys told the 3 younger ones that work will pick back up soon. Then he escorted them and their tools out of the gate.

Other than that we stay purposely busy and no one ever utters a word about politics or anything else in the outside world. I honestly think my position could go anytime now. Everybody else is thinking the same about theirs.

I work with 4000 other employees

And perhaps there are two-three that have any clue that the economy is going through even a minute downturn. The majority of women are completely oblivious, and many men that speak about the situation feel that God will come down and put them to work. I am not an atheist; just a realist, and the majority of people I work with are blind to thing to come..

We just went Chap 11

so I hope I have a workplace in the future. The company is full of lifers with 25 to 35 years in. Many have never held any other job. They're scared. Their only concern is keeping a paycheck coming. Politics and economic theory is meaningless to them, but most are P.O.'d at the bailouts. None can stand Obama, even the resident liberal doesn't want to talk about him.

Where I work...

Well, I pushed them all on RP during the primaries. They all said "he doesnt stand a chance" They are all blissfully ignorant and don't care at all. One guy constantly gripes about how GM stocks have come up through his lineage and how he dividend re-invested and lost it all. He severely dislikes the president because every time the pres talks, the market goes down. Other than that, they are oblivious.
Oh yeah, sometimes I get a full 40 and there is no health insurance.

My workplace...

I still work for Mark Mulligan, whose campaign I managed last year - we're both upbeat - our plan is to get filthy stinkin' rich over the next year and a half so we can both fund our own 12' campaigns.

We have an hour long meeting with Karl Denninger tomorrow - should be interesting!

I also work now and then on an oilfied paleontology team with "Bugman" who also lurks around here now and then - love the cajun cooking on the rigs - and the onboard gyms ....It's upbeat out there also....the work is almost fun too!

February 20, 2012 - Veterans For Ron Paul March on D.C.!

At my primary job...

I can only talk news and politics with one guy or two guys. They are open minded, armchair libertarians... but do not grasp the evil hand behind current events... not completely asleep but they keep pressing the snooze button. My other coworkers on the other hand... are hopelessly brainwashed and willfully ignorant. No understanding of history, cannot grasp problem-reaction-solution, hate muslims with a bloodlust... morons... beyond hope... if it werent for me they would never have heard of Ron Paul.

At my part time job, which is as a drilling Navy Reservist... they ALL understand the NWO, the FED, 9/11.. and its so awesome talking with them because they all get that there is a spiritual side to all this. I love the people in my unit.

I work on a barge in the gulf of mexico. The majority of the people out here hate taxes and hate welfare. These people kind of think I am kind of kooky but they always come up to me to discuss politics especially crooked politics. I gave a boat captain a bunch of videos " Obama Deception, Freedom to Fascism, Money as Debt, Money Masters, Terror Storm, Loose Change, Fabled Enemies, & End Game". These people on this boat about 5 of them set down and watched everyone of the videos because they have no phones, cable, tv, or internet. The crew woke up after that and one of them has taken it a little far. People are waking up around me slowly but surely and they are getting pissed at what is going on.

Hard to comment -

as I have no place of work and have been looking for employment since I graduated from college 6 months ago.

My husband's company filed for Chapter 11 yesterday

I am so very fortunate in this respect.

I have worked in sales, the corporate sector, and the legal field for most of my career life.

In the last few years, I have had the opportunity to take a hydroponic, and organic garden supply company, and grow it over 45% in the last three years.

I have been experiencing major health issues due to a failed surgery on my leg, over two years ago.
My guys have been great throughout this whole debacle, and I couldn't have asked for better partners and workers. They are pleasant, they treat the customers like they are family, and they work their butts off.
I work when I can, put out fires when I have to, and the rest of my focus remains on my recovery. I am TRULY thankful to THEM for that.
One of the best things is that 99% of the customers that come in are happy, and easy to work with. When you have happy harvests, you get happy customers.
You would be surprised how many Ron Paul supporters are customers. Of course ALL my guys are as well. During the campaign, there were Ron Paul signs and stickers everywhere.
I would say the majority of our customers are "aware" to some point, and the discussion often times goes from gardening, to political.
The mood is one of concern obviously, but I am so glad I do not have to work with a bunch of ignorant morons, anymore.

Would love to stop by and say hey.

They aren't talking much anymore lol

The union still has O' poster in the wall cabinet and I have to walk by it every day. I told the stewerd to remove it and he won't. I even told the supervisor who is not a O' supporter about it, but he can't do anything about it since it's a union controlled display case. Anyhow, the people aren't singing any O's tunes anymore, but I love to talk Ron Paul with them, it makes them squirm and sometimes spittin' mad at me and I don't care what they say to me :-)

Faux News

Unfortunately, despite many hopeful signs that I see and hear out in the world, I see little movement in the way that the people I work with think about any of this or react to events.

Recently there was a discussion about politics. It turns out that about half the people are FOXNews watchers (right-leaning) and about half are MSNBC watchers (left-leaning). I know this because the debate was the same set of talking points you could hear on FOXNews or MSNBC any night of the week.

It was a perfect microcosm of America. In the end, no one thought any differently than when they started, and I'm sure they all went home that night and watched FOXNews or MSNBC to reinforce their positions and beliefs.

Anything they hear outside of their chosen news program (belief system) is either the other side—the liars and bad people—or is coming from the lunatic fringe who think everything is a conspiracy and are not to be taken seriously.

The lunatic fringe conspiracy theorists of course include me, which is why I rarely offer my opinion.

Isn't that funny

how the brainwashing machines not only tell people what to think, it tells them what to say--- usually an argument between false choices.

That would make a great video cartoon.

The people I talk to are fed up with the BS

They are especially wary of the growing deficit and potential health care shenanigans.
