The constitutionalists win
You constitutionalists have won. You impressed upon me the importance of returning the government to operating like it did during the founders times, because as you so eloquently argue, it was just so much better back then.
That said, here's a short list of the things I'm looking forward to...
I'm really looking forward to the return of only allowing white male land owners to vote. I'm looking forward to owning a few slaves of my own. I'm looking forward to child labor. I'm looking forward to the return of duels to settle domestic disputes. And these are just for starters! History is replete with so many examples of the entitlements that ought to be mine as a white male land owner! How could I have not seen it all along?
So what are you constitutionalists looking forward to? Which part of life under the administration of George Washington do you long for the most? I'm torn between silencing the non-white, non-male, non-landowners by denying them representation in my government and the dueling. But the cheap labor available via chattel slavery or children is mighty attractive too.
Just kidding!

Wow so much ignorance and
Wow so much ignorance and childishness by those who claim to be for freedom... Sigh! How sad to watch daily paulers revert back to acting just like the neocons and attack and name call when that can't come up with an intelligent argument to none's very valid and important points. You all should be ashamed of yourselves....

You bring out a good point about the Constitution.
All of that stuff you mentioned was changed, including a ban on alcohol, that's the beauty of the Constitution.
But certain { un-named } ancient writings from all over the world are not allowed to be up dated, in my opinion a major problem.
Think about it!

Hummm - Constitution stuff from another poster person...
I will have to check it out in the morning.
"legalize the consititution" (repeal the 16th amendment, repeal the 17th amendment, enact the 10th amendment, restore the 1st, 2nd and 9th and so forth).
Always good to refresh your memory with the constitution.

a lot of people think as you do. The way I see it, the Constitution was perfect but not the execution of it. Through the years some areas of it was implemented and some areas ignored. Like Dr. King said in " I have a dream" I would love to see it fully implemented to all it could have been. I really don't see any form of government working perfectly even Anarchy. Government only works as well as the effort and over site the citizens are willing to devote to it. Dr. Paul is working within the system and many others are running for office to help Dr. Paul this is very encouraging. Like they say this is a revolution of ideas that will not be won on the battle field.

I kinda like the Bill of Rights
I also like real money, not the counterfeit IOUs backed with my property.
I like the Supreme Court and Congress butting out of areas in which they have no business, such as abortion, public education, health care, etc. I like public officials being held accountable when they lie, steal or commit treason.
Need any more?
What I don't like is statements, such as, "We know which parts of the Constitution to enforce and which not to" (Senator Bill Bradley) or (in response to John Shadegg's "Constitutional Authority" bill), "If we have to do that, we wouldn't be able to pass any legislation (Senator John Glenn).
Whether or not you or they like the Constitution, it is the highest law in the land and our public officials swear an oath to "uphold and defend" it.
Anyone who fails to subordinate themselves to higher law is a tyrant, and we remember what Jefferson said about tyrants.
If only landowners and people with a stake in the country were
allowed to vote...Obama would never have been elected !!!
The idea that anyone can vote ( just because they were born in the country or naturalized ) is unsound and has proven to be problematic. People going to the polls and just pulling a lever without any idea of the platform and moral fibre of the person they are voting for is dangerous.
Democracy ONLY works in a educated and politiclly sofisticated society.
Voting for a president using criteria like...he can dance...or ...he is cute...or due to a latent guilt feeling over slavery etc. etc. IS NOT BEING A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN.

None, Other Than ...
I might have misjudged you in my impatience with the commotion of the past few days.
I don’t think you are None ( of the above) ... but you may not be entirely None (of the below) either, at least not necessarily in effect upon this forum.
So you are proving to be None (of the provocative questions). OK, it’s our drill. For the time being we need a few positively titled threads to bump. We need a few new dialectics to dial.
On your thread we seem to be tussling with each other. That shouldn’t intimidate us. We need the practice.
The gauntlet has been thrown. Remember DP’rs: Duels are honourable affairs; choose your weapons; stand and deliver.

the constitution
We haven’t been under the constitution for a long time, not the U.S or the States constitutions; we need to go back to them, but what you pointed out in you’re rant has been amended already, the constitution is not perfect, but we have the ability to correct the omission and errors by amending it, for instance I could do without the 16th and 17th.

4, “I'm looking forward to the return of duels to settle domestic disputes.”

We need more Aaron Burr vs. Alexander Hamilton duels between politician, as the more harm they cause each other the less harm they can cause us, but I don’t think duels have been eliminated, they have just taken different forms in today’s society, now we do not have the sort of duels of the founders period, but we do have them, they are just not walk ten steps, turn and shot duels.

5, “History is replete with so many examples of the entitlements”
--
I have a few I could do without, Social Security, Medicare, welfare and public education to name a few, and all the examples I mention equal “slavery”, taking of property and allowing special interest groups to take my rights as an individual to do as I please with my property, my labor, and my life.
hey none!
hey none,
i find u to be interesting.... tho, given what's going on now, aren't we better off focusing on 'auditing the fed' in order to end the fed instead of arguing 'anarchy/total personal freedom vs constitutional republic/forced slavery'?
the way i see it, is for ur world view to come to fruition, the world has to go thru "audit the fed to end the fed", "legalize the consititution" (repeal the 16th amendment, repeal the 17th amendment, enact the 10th amendment, restore the 1st, 2nd and 9th and so forth).
said another way, there's a path from here to where u think we should be, and that path takes us thru where we are now, passing hr1207/s604. some people would like to stop at the constitution, where as other would like to stop where u want us to stop, but we should all, "hold hands" and get over that one step together.
I pledge, do you?
Geez, thank you for saying that
Good God! none doesn't seem to get it that we have to move forward, not stay stuck in the past. History is there to learn from and to remember who things got to be the way they are.
But ending the fed is what we need to 'focus' on for sure!
thank you
Nah...
He'd rather discuss child labor and slavery. Way more relevant to our current situation.
Yes, Constitutional government. Obama, show us the proof.
On the heels of WND, huge signs demanding irrefutable proof of BO's eligibility at all major intersections and along the highways would be a good thing. Remember all those Ron Paul signs and Out of the UN signs? We now need BO signs. Until BO puts it up, actions of this administration are considered without authority and unenforceable. Barry may be an illegal alien. No? Prove it. If I can prove my identity, and I'm much older than you, you most certainly can, too. So, prove it.
Am I Missing Something?
Where in the U.S. Constitution does it say one must be White in order to be in office?
Of course our Founders owned land because they saw property as an unalienable right to them from God. Votes were done by households back then (based on a Biblical principle of family government), and those who had families and land were afforded the privilege to vote on behalf of their family.
Because we have lost the concept of what private property is as well as what family government entails, it would seem strange to people like you that our Founders performed their civic duties in the manner they did. They had it better than us in many ways, in my opinion.
Do you actually know anything about the US of A in 1789?
Tell me, how many non white, non male, non land owning people were allowed to hold office in 1789 in any of the states or the federal government?
Absolutely none!
And why should they.
First of all, there is no motivation to be elected if you believe yourself to be a 'slave' or a 'victim'.
Firstly, one has to know they are 'Sovereign' and act like it. If you do not understand that you are 'Sovereign', no one could even pay you to become a 'delegate' or run for office. Why? Simple. Because you don't 'animate' or 'live' your Rights.
It is the dumbing down over many decades of American education and the destruction of family structures that have exacerbated an already critical sustaining factor in passing on the essential ideas of what it means to be 'Sovereign'.
Sorry Anisha, but the opinon of women didn't count either
Golly, those founding fathers really had freedom nailed, didn't they?
Thats right none. Women didn't have voting rights. Sign
of the times. Most women in those times didn't want to even have that kind of responsibilty, nor were many 'ready' for it. Part of our 'evolution' of consciousness. Do we have voting rights today? Yes! Because we have 'evolved'.
If you think that I will make the ignorant mistake of imposing current consciousness on people who lived 233 years ago, well that's not going to happen.
What was important was that 'men', yes, white European men', be educated in philosophy of Liberty and know how to defend themselves and their families, and also had the additional responsibility of passing on that 'philosophy' to their offspring.
I bet none failed his

lol. We are not trying to
lol. We are not trying to "return the government to operating like it did during the founders times". We are trying to return to a system of constitutional government. Any flaws in the system can be constitutionally amended over time, just as those you mentioned have already been.
Oh, so changing the constitution is OK then?
But isn't changing the constitution and the government from the way it was in 1789 responsible for the government we have today?
No. Most of the things that
No. Most of the things that made our current government are unconstitutional. The system of checks and balances makes it a lot harder to get these things done constitutionally.
Only a vigilant public can put a stop to this madness, however.
nope... read history.. as
nope... read history.. as far back as you want to go.. there will always be one man who wants to rule over another.. the constitution is supposed to keep those idiots in check.. It would if the American people would be vigilent in watching what these type of people were doing.. the media was coopted to not report.. the schools were taken over by the feds.. they were given courses which teach the statist view of history. basically reeducation camps.. It is we the people of past generations who did not do their jobs to vote correctly and gave the government to much power. Now its time to take it back.
