Well folks. I found out where the trolls are coming through the fence.

Edited by SSgT_AF for content.
It appears our various village trolls are running around picking fights with other web-sites and drawing their ilk here. I find it in bad taste and horrible that this kind of behavior is allowed to flourish on Nystrom's web-site.
I fear all of the trollish behavior visited to us on this site has come from a village idiot running wild and inciting violence onto our peaceful community.
The trolls will keep coming through the hole in the fence. I fear we will be overrun by the various trolls and there enemies. As those enemies seek to route them out from our site we will suffer the consequences of their frolicking.

We've had trolls long before this.

Good investigation SSgT.
History is destined to repeat itself, if it is not studied.
You gave us a history lesson.
Trust, but verify.
Peace, but vigilance.
Some clarity, hopefully...
Here's the chain from what I can see. Whether this is beneficial to you or not, I think it's doubtful.
Wonkette->Encyclopedia Dramatica.com ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encyclopedia_Dramatica )-> 4chan.org-> Anonymous (users)
Told you it wouldn't be too helpful.
However, this is a piece of info you might find disturbing. A game that essentially trains you on how to troll: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forumwarz
Look at the levels..."The primary battleground is an internet forum, as opposed to the fantasy settings found in traditional RPGs. Parody themes include furries, script kiddies, Boing Boing, Apple Computer, ricers, 4chan, RON PAUL, Fark, gamers, Bill O'Reilly, Otaku, Cory Doctorow, and the Church of Scientology."
I can't say where the "trolls" are coming from. The one thing I can say is that if you find something offensive or idiotic in the current topics, DO NOT RESPOND. JUST LET IT DIE. Don't feed the trolls.

Please Sarge, let's not be too hasty in judging Furlough.
Not sure if you saw the thread he posted here Sunday, June 14th, but there was good dialogue there.
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/96336
Furlough was under a brief ban after what happened Saturday and things have been good after that cooling off period.
Sorry Cricket,
One good post does not make up for dozens of negative posts, out right personal attacks, and breaking posting rules. Only time will tell if a cooling off period has done any good. I suspect that the old apple will return and try to spoil as many good apples as it can. Furlough needs to learn many things. These are two that my father taught me.
You can call a cop anything in the world as long as you state "in my opinion" first. (having witness's to the fact helps as well)
You can tell anyone to go straight to hell....and do it in such a way that you will have them looking forward to the trip.
Furlough needs maturity and etiquette. I hope he is open to receiving both.
livefree - you're clearly
livefree - you're clearly refering to a back and forth the other day, you're correct, I was way out of line. I felt that I was backed into a corner by several people here when I jumped into a heated ongoing discussion about 9-11, and because I agreed with the minority view, I was already getting pelted with rocks for joining a debate that was already in process. I might have skyrocketed past the line of decency, but I certainly didn't cast the first stone, and was not the only person guilty for pushing ethicial limits on what one freedom lover can say to another.
I made an apology, take it or leave it
Put a good spin on it, more clicks, maybe one of the wonkas will read something here that will bring them back to earth.
You're right that time will tell.
In the meantime, I'm with BigT below.

The wonketters
are just a mutual admiration club of useless nitwit wanna be comedians.
Its merely a satire gossip site, don't take them seriously. When the SHTF they will lose their humor.

woo hoo!
dont impy they ever had
dont impy they ever had humor, if they did they'd be successful and not losing all their advertisers. wonkette hasn't been taken seriously since ann marie cox left years ago.
they were dead before the ship even sank
it reminds me of the angry loners club from HS, so full of arrogance that they might infact one day leave lower earth orbit and fry in the sun
i put in disclaimers:
"wanna be comedians"
"their humor" (not anyone else's)
P.S.
I am sure they have a false sense of self inflated ego, having voted for their "winner" Obama. Too bad their "winner" is just another loser puppet, a fact they can't ever come to terms with. So they beat their chests and belittle a true patriot with pathetic bathroom humor.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
woo hoo!
In their little corners
And caves they huddle together. Cracking toilet humor and fart jokes. Keeping each other entertained as you would a paint puffer or a glue sniffer.
They laugh at each other and giggle with idiotic glee that they can combine the words "Paul" and "Retard".
Sadly that is a far as their mental capacity can take them. After that they get a blank stare and then smile and repeat "paultard" with a giggle.
A truly sad state of affairs. The "wonker" is a sad animal. A dumb sad animal. I reality it should have been put down for its mental deformities and inability to care for itself. Pity it. It is a foul creature.
Proposed Solution to Blog issues
I have made some suggestions to Michael Nystrom in regards to ways to alter his service that will make it much more difficult for divisive people to take shape. I also find that this blog carries a lot of the same paranoid statements as being a top part of the Active Forum topics which it would be nice to have a service that actually offers a lot of new information and a rating service like "digg" to the top-user voted blog feeds. This rating service can only be utilized by active members of the blog whereby they get one set of votes per blog. For instance, the votes would be a rating on the significance of the blog and a rating that can be done daily (with a reset of the #s) to keep it high on the natural positioning. This will help us do a better job as a community in weeding out blogs that are redundant and/or topics that are not as relevant towards our stated goal in bringing forth more liberty and freedom for all by restoring our republic.
I also would like to see a better activism feature built into this service that will help devise better ways to be an activist on certain issues. This will greatly enhance our ability to get better and faster results with a particular issue or event. Sometimes I discover that a blog will be created about a topic and you have to read through countless blogs to get pieces of good information. Wouldn't it be nice to have more immediate access to concrete ideas rather than reading through chatter?
"This will help us do a
"This will help us do a better job as a community in weeding out blogs that are redundant and/or topics that are not as relevant towards our stated goal in bringing forth more liberty and freedom for all by restoring our republic."
Dime, While I appreciate the idea's and will go with what ever is ultimately decided ( what choice do I have ? ) , I can not agree with or accept that this could even possibly be a solution.
Weeding out blogs that are redundant is a bad idea because so many new idea's come from them. Either from new users or from old timers that have had a little more time to adjust their perspective?
Perhaps a list of all the forum #'s and titles could be made available so that posters could see if their subject has already been discussed would help. I personally don't like going to the forums tab and getting the list given to me by latest activity. Besides, compiling a numbered list would give Sentinel a really good challenge and I think he would except.
The other "problem", I would have is, who would determine “topics that are not as relevant towards our stated goal in bringing forth more liberty and freedom for all by restoring our republic."? And further, why should all topics fit this guide line? The "feel good" thread would disappear. As would my personal thread about the passing of my father. Just two examples that have absolutely nothing to do with liberty or the Republic. They are how-ever threads that have done much to ease suffering, allow us to help each other through encouragement, and yes, even allow us to blow steam or go on rants. Many of us feel like family here. If we can't bring our thoughts, trials, troubles, wit, and wisdom to family...then who's left?
let those idiots come over here
They haven't got anything but foul language to "back up" their lies.
