Going to the Rainbow Gathering

I'm going to the Rainbow Gathering around June 26th with some friends from Factor e Farm in Missouri. It's described as "The purpose of the Rainbow Gathering is for individuals to come together to pray for peace and to practice their spiritual beliefs, and to exercise true liberty and freedom away from corrupt government on the land that belongs to us." This year it's in New Mexico. It usually takes place in June and July, with a main event on the 4th of July.

Has anyone here been to a Rainbow Gathering? Could I print out some fliers or business cards or something to hand out there? Are there any good materials to print out somewhere?

I'm going to try handing out some stuff about Open Source Ecology (OpenFarmTech.org) and looking for volunteers.

It looks like the government has been causing trouble at the gatherings the past few years, google "rainbow gathering site:dailypaul.com". I wonder what they'll try to pull this year? I read on one of the old threads that Alex Jones was thinking of coming this year, but there hasn't been any mention since, so maybe he has somewhere else to be this July 4th. Any news?

Is anyone else going?

I'm Going

I'm going home! I was in Illinois visiting my parents and in my hometown were two kids trying to hitch a ride to the Gathering. I brought them all the way with me to CO to hang out for a few days as I'll be heading down the 24-28 to help a bit with Seed Camp. I've got to get back to work to discuss my summer research gig with my advisors by July 1, so I can't make it for the main portion.

If anybody wants to see anarchy at work, feel free to the Rainbow Gathering. The Family will take care of you and is always welcoming regardless of who you are as long as you're accepting.

During the New Orleans fiasco, local Family were putting together soup kitchens, etc. for the people who stayed behind.
