Scientists Debate Shading Earth As Climate Fix

All Things Considered, June 16, 2009 · Engineering our climate to stop global warming may seem like science fiction, but at a recent National Academy of Sciences meeting, scientists discussed some potential geoengineering experiments in earnest.
Climate researcher Ken Caldeira was skeptical when he first heard about the idea of shading the Earth a decade ago in a talk by nuclear weapons scientist Lowell Wood.

But when Caldeira sat down to study this, he was surprised to discover that, yes, it would work, and for the very same reasons that big volcanoes cool the Earth when they erupt. Fine particles in the stratosphere reflect sunlight back into space. And doing it would be cheap, to boot.
Caldeira conducts research on climate and carbon cycles at the Carnegie Institution at Stanford University. During the past decade, he said, talk about this idea has moved from cocktail parties to very sober meetings, like the workshop this week put on by the National Academy of Sciences.

Global warming is not happening, but abuse and neglect of the planet through wars and the technology that is created and established to modify life as we know it, from our food or the water... Global warming blames people, but it is not people. ever notice that Global Warming NEVER introduces HEMP as a solution? The solution is to make your life a living hell while they continmue to go to war and space...
People are earthlings and we belong here. Technology is great for life off the planet, but it's no longer serving we the people and hte planet, but instead, serving a very few who are too corrupt and powerful.. the revolution would have to come from TV... and the global warming is not, because it's not people, as Al Gore said, from an SUV...is your electric bill $30K a month... They have lost touch with us and until MSM does something for us... we're better off not blaming each other... the majority don't want war and they give us wars anyways, eh?

If natural greenhouse gases such as water vapor ( accounts for over 99% of the greenhouse gases) trap the heat in the troposphere why do I feel cooler under the shade of a cloud on a hot summer day? And why won`t these particles they plan to send up not trap the heat on the earth as they say greenhouse gases do?
I want a scientific study paid for by these loonies comparing the amount of cooling caused by clouds ( and all greenhouse gases) against the amount of heat retention they cause.

I'm just guessing but
I'd think that the fact that you feel cool is because of that very fact.
You are cool because the heat is absorbed (and reflected) before it reaches you. it's the part that is absorbed that is what would warm the climate.
the issue is how much does a particle absorb compared to how much it reflects.
Water vapor is a great carrier of heat.. As evidenced by Air conditioners that work like crap in the desert. there just isn't enough water vapor to allow an efficient transfer of heat. So, a lot of homes in the desert use "swamp coolers". Which work by evaporating water (instead of condensing, and evaporating a coolant)..the evaporated water carries the heat into the external air. Again, because water can store, and transfer heat.
does that make any sense?

We figured out that our debunkers were debunking the word
Everyone was talking about seeing "chemtrails" and the debunkers were saying, "no, they're contrails". Then we found the Air Force documents and learned that aerosols and chaff are also defined as contrails. So people had been seeing something strange, but they were just calling them by the wrong name. Kinda funny, but steps are being taken to correct the problem.

No one besides conspiracy
No one besides conspiracy enthusiasts calls them "chemtrails". Why use a scientifically incorrect term when a more accurate term already exists? Propaganda. That's what it's called when you do it, not just when "the other guys" do it.

It was an honest misunderstanding. It's being resolved quickly.
Clearly, chemicals are involved and the documents weren't exactly easy to find, so its easy to see how "chemtrail" came to be accepted. It's pure insanity on the part of the debunkers that they only just laughed at the name while ignoring the potential and documented risks from the category 3 & 4 contrails. Laughing at people is much easier than sharing their concerns. This whole thing amazes me actually.
